Wow! Just stumbled across your channel from watching another RU-vidr (Chad Kubanoff)who just moved to Vietnam from America as well! He is also living in the same apartment complex as you, haha. I’ve also moved from Vietnam to the USA when I was really young, and so my life growing up has been exposed to the States. But after meeting my wife who is born and raised and Vietnam, I fell in love with the country and is a dream of ours to eventually come back there and live. She’s only been in the US for 3 years, but she misses Vietnam and so do I. Watching your videos and Chad’s makes me really happy because I feel like Vietnam will bring us more happiness than the US. Sorry for the long reply! Good luck to you, your family and your business!

Dude, if you stay here more than 6 months, buying a bike (mostly honda) would be much cheaper than renting. When you leave the country, always can sell it at a good price. My friend did it.

I'm thrilled to learn more about your experiences in Vietnam, especially because I'll be moving to Saigon later this year to connect with my Vietnamese heritage and explore the culture. I appreciate your insights shared at the end of the video regarding how Vietnam is developing and the importance of representing it from multiple perspectives. Keep up the fantastic work - you've gained a new follower!

District 7 has a lot of Korean people. You chose a right place to live. It’s much quieter than D1, 2, 3, 4, 5... Happy to see you have settled in a good place. I am Vietnamese-Canadian. I have left the country when I was a kid. I accidentally discovered your video. I subscribed to follow your “adventures “ ( moving to Vietnam 🇻🇳 ). Good luck 👍 and stay safe !

Here’s the undeniable fact about Vietnamese and Vietnam. Vietnam could be better if the people stopped throwing garbage everywhere and served food and drink in a sanitary manner. And last but not least, they got to stop scamming and stealing. The culture knits and shapes this slum mindset for hundreds of years, if not thousands of years. And the saddest part is that this mentality continues to pass down generations to come. The same goes for the overseas Vietnamese who don’t assimilate with the new culture.

@@nocancelcultureaccepted9316 I think you’re mistaking opinions for facts. The issues you pointed out, like sanitation and thefts, are not unique to VN. They happen in many communities around the world and, more often than not, are driven by the infrastructure, economic development, and wealth disparity in those communities. I also disagree with your comment regarding the culture shaping the slum mindset. And aren’t slums more of a modern thing that came about after the industrial revolution, which pushed people into crowded cities? Viet culture, to generalize, for hundreds, and maybe thousands, of years is about the family and the land. It often had to battle against the Chinese and, in the modern time, foreign influences. But describing it as you did just seemed shortsighted.

@@ntran1968 Văn hoá hẹp hòi, thô lỗ truyền xuống mấy chục đời rồi nên sanh ra con người sinh sống thói quen thiếu ý thức vứt rác bừa bãi, thiếu trật tự lộn xộn ồn ào, làm ăn buôn bán tham lam, gian lận, trộm cắp. I like your commentary at the end of the video. I have volunteered in VN many times and developed many friendships with locals there. I am glad you know you are privileged and know that many locals struggle to live day to day. the world’s middle class is disappearing so I hope you can help to keep VN’s middle class alive and well. I appreciate your honest commentary..

Thanks so much for your comment. I hope I can show all sides of Vietnam. There are so many nuances -- it's never just one thing or the other, especially now that it's developing so fast. There are also things I'm still learning about what people are experiencing here.

I’ve always observed your shows with an open minded. I think you will explore both sides of the isle hopefully without injecting too much of personal opinion. I think it’s not easy to critical thinking without knowing all facts and having personal experience. Great job on what what you’re doing.

They can fix almost anything including all motorbikes in Vietnam for less. However if you buy Chinese motorbikes, it will cost you a lot more than buying a new.

The media also misrepresents Mexico and all the Monks I have taken to Mexico have told me "its not what I thought it would be". Yes Mexico like Vietnam has its issues but it is not the complete story and definitely not a wholesome perspective that will conduce to a positive transformation of these nations. Nam mo a di da Phat 🙏

Thank you Bhante! Yes I was one of those people when I traveled to Mexico City. It’s an amazing city. It changed my view completely. The good and the bad just exist together everywhere I think. Nothing is as it seems, especially if we just rely on media to shape our reality

@chris.tran.travels Nice, I thought I recognized that. I'd love to stay in Vietnam for a couple of months while working remote. Like you, I am the only person in my family born in the states, and visiting for the first time back in 2018 was like experiencing a parallel life track, it was an incredible feeling. I share a lot of your sentiments.

Extremely and poorly evaluated. Vietnam has gone through many wars, been colonized, robbed of resources from the French and Japanese... they even had to eat their own animals. Instead of helping and understanding, you look in a negative way. I just feel sorry for you. I think you are the person who deserves pity more than anyone
