Our Baby Gorilla is 4 days old! 

Beautiful baby and mom. She is really amazing mom. She is looking after the baby

Was it necessary to call the baby, “...it”? I know I’m picking, but calling the gorillas negative-sounding words, was kinda cringe for me🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️.

It’s so tinny compared to mom. She really love that baby. It’s so helpless. I say it can drink a lot of milk too. Mom always checking baby out.

Dad is doing dad duty and staying close to make sure they are safe.

Gorilla females make great moms. You don’t see the baby fighting her to nurse. The babies are so clean to.

Removing them from the presence of predators and the possibility of death makes them more aggressive with each other. You should let a mountain lion in there every once in a while to keep them interested

I love these zoo videos, but sometimes it irritates me that we always claim the female gorillas are doing a great job as if gorillas don’t know instinctively how to be a mother. Of course animals are affectionate, protective, and knows the needs of their young just as humans do. They will sometimes reject their young, but so do humans. In fact, humans do it more these days with abortion, abandonment and neglect.

I live in a suburb outside of Chicago up until I graduated from college couldn’t stand the cold anymore you’re not I feel bad for the girls because it’s freezing in the winter too cold to be outside And blazing hot and humid all summer you don’t get much of a spring and fall in Chicago
