Your review was spot on! We are slowly working our way toward Kekuli Bay Provincial Park where we plan to ride and hike. (We did make reservations.) Then we are hoping to get into Skyview Campground. This is our first time in Canada. We live in Iowa, U.S. and have been watching your videos to prepare for our time in BC. Thank you for all you do. You make a difference!

This past number of years I (we) have taken to leaving our campsite with the First Fire set in the fire ring. Because. Not lit, just ready to go. Duff, kindling, splits, a couple or three logs. Past two years we have added the Blue Tarp Initiative. I buy camo tarps (only good reason for camo anything) and trade folks for their blue tarps as we go along, camping trip or road trip.. Haven't been yelled at yet because I think everyone knows using a blue tarp is like drinking commercial apple juice after 12 years old. We will be doing the Icefield Parkway this year as we work our way off Island and up into Northwest Territories. Waterfall Route into Yellowknife, Liard Trail on our way back out. Here is to both of us having a wonderful 2023.

Just found your channel. Thank you for the great information and videos. We are moving back to BC from Manitoba now that I am retired and your videos are enjoyable to watch and are giving us ideas of places to go.
We spent New Years at Skyview. It was great. The snow makes the place look nice and clean. Lots of families, kids, and dogs. The X-C trail runs right up the road you drove. So all the sites to the east (right) of the shower house is closed for the winter. Will definitely go back at least one more time this winter.

Thanks for the great camping information!! Being from central Alberta, our favourite campsites are the little gems between Jasper and Banff. We also love staying at Monarch Campground close by Field BC, the views are AMAZING!! Excited to try Illecillewaet Campground!! Happy camping in 2023 to you and your viewers!!

Thanks for the great Tips guys. Just a hands up for folks who want to go to Lower Lake at Peter Logheed provincial Park you are required a Pass like the National Park pass (15cad$ per day or 90cad$ per year).
We have considered it, well the going south part if it would fit. One of our viewers often tempts us with photos of his trips there. RTR likely a bit too busy for us though.
First of all, I love your shirt! I do have a curious question, since I notice that most of the campsites that you go to, are BC Parks sites. Do you ever camp at private campgrounds? I have found that for myself, they come in handy and most have full hookups and other amenities that are included in the fees. Please let me know if you do camp elsewhere, thank you.
Hi Karen; you are correct most of our camping is in BC and Alberta (so many great spots to explore) and usually in parks or recreation sites (largely rustic camping) but we do on occasion go to private campgrounds. For us it is usually off season to take advantage of power and we can use a small heater in the van..much quieter than our furnace. When we camp in the Whistler area we enjoy a stay at the Riverside campground (often in summer), near Tofino we have stayed at Crystal Cove and in Osoyoos the Nk’Mip campground as some examples (we have videos on all). As you know campsites at most commercial campgrounds sites tend to be much closer together than in the parks system and fees of course are roughly(!) 2x the price (but some with quite nice amenities). We typically enjoy larger campsites. There are actually a few private campgrounds that we are keen to try in the next few months. Please let us know if you have any to recommend! @@hikenrv Hi there, Thank you for replying to my post so quickly, I am sorry for the delay with mine. I live in Vancouver, in the West End, if I had space I would own an RV. Every year we rent a 25 ft Class C from Fraser way RV, which is the highlight of our vacation time. I have stayed at both private and BC parks. I have a few recommendations for you when it comes to private campgrounds. My favourite one is in Squamish, it is Klahanie campground, it overlooks Howe Sound and we had a great many hours of entertainment watching kite surfers. Canyon Alpine RV park and camping in Boston Bar is another good one, it has really good amenities and it accommodates big rigs, the sites are full hook ups with cable and pull through sites. The sites are in a tiered layout and are staggered, but there are lots of trees and there is some privacy. The only downside is the train that runs every few hours. If you go to Northern Vancouver Island, I recommend Alder Bay RV park in Port Mc Neill, it is a nice campground and it is across the water from Alert Bay, which is on Cormorant Island. If you fish or have a boat, it is the best way to occupy your time. My second favourite private campground is Living Forest campground in Nanaimo, it has many amenities and a "store" to purchase any camping thing that you can think of. They are very friendly and helpful and if you get a site that looks over the water, it is stunning. I hope that this gives you a few new sites to explore. Best regards, Karen Guy
