I so enjoyed watching this! My mom birthed all of her 6 kids naturally/unmedicated and my big sister is a midwife, so I love hearing birth stories!!! This one was especially encouraging with it being your first (I don't have kids yet, so I'm a little nervous!) and I love how excited and in awe you two are about the whole process. Congratulations!

Hooray! I’ve been so excited for an update and this is perfect timing… I’ll probably have my baby this weekend!

My first 2 babies were with an epidural and it didnt work either time. I said i wouldn't have another epidural. I had 3 more babies with no epidural and so glad i did! I cant imagine pushing for 2 hours! That is a long time. My first was 40 minutes, and the doctor told me that was long! I also had my water break before any contractions started with my first. Labored for 19 hours with her. Next 2 were 7 hours, number 4 was maybe 5 hours and the last (5th) was a whopping 23 hours! I was also dialated 4 cm for a week with all of them before labor. So happy to finally hear about your wonderful birth story and meet sweet baby Shepard! He is adorable! Cant wait to see new videos!

I had awesome babies too. My birth stories were more dramatic but you know what? it’s the end result that matters😊 you have a beloved member of your family that’s in your arms. A true gift. Congratulations. He’s beautiful and you are both beautiful. 🥰

I had my babies in the 80"s. Lamaze was the prferred method of childbirth at that time. No drugs, just focus and breathing techniques that really worked. Don't know why one doesn't hear of it anymore. The greatest accomplishment of my life was having natural, unmedicated births. Congratulations and God bless, to you and your little family!

I just found your channel and it's everything I've been needing these days...so, Thank YOU!! Also, I survived natural childbirth with both of my kids - both over 30 hours of labor, 6-8 hours of pushing (and my son was 9.5 pounds...yikes) I wish that rush that you get right after having accomplished such a feat could be bottled up and available to you at the ready. No other feeling I've found so far compares to it. Congratulations and thanks again for sharing your light!

Congratulations! He's so adorable and I love his name! I loved hearing your birth story! I have 3 boys, was induced with all 3, and also didn't do epidurals or anything, so I can absolutely relate. I was so happy with that decision. Once I did it with the first one, I knew I could do it with the other 2. Our bodies are capable of such amazing things! My babies are all grown up now! My oldest will be 25 next month, my middle son is 21, and my youngest turned 18 in October. The time truly does fly. Soak up every moment! God bless your beautiful family!

I was just thinking about you😊. I'm so excited to hear your birth story. I had my 7th child 2 years ago and I showed up to the hospital at 9cm and told the nurse several times I didn't know if I was in labor or not and I was afraid they would send me home. As soon as they did the cervical check and saw I was 9cm they immediately stopped triage and packed me up and straight to a room I went. I was sitting up talking to everyone. It was an amazing birth. My husband dropped me off at the hospital door and left to get the other kids to his mom. I was somehow able to just chill for a couple of hours and wait for him to get back to the hospital. When he got there I called the midwife and she came in and got the squat bar set up and I started pushing and she was born. All the nurses were amazed. They had never seen a calm peaceful birth. I was happy they could see it bc most people watching me carry on a full conversation during contractions would just say I wasn't in labor and not pay me any attention.

Gorgeous gorgeous baby. Fanfastic birth story, thank you for sharing. It was a (male) childhood friend excitedly telling me he and his wife's birth story that gave me the confidence to have a baby at all - I learned I COULD do it in a way I felt safe, with a mid-wife, without meds. And we did. We had a very similar birth story to you guys, but in Japan, at a water-birth mid-wife clinic. Keep sharing. Your love, confidence and excitement is infectious.

CONGRATULATIONS! It can be done. I am the mother of 4 (38, 35, 29, 26) and had them all naturally, no drugs. My water never broke with any of my kids. The doctor had to break the water. They use an instrument that looked similar to a crochet hook. Three of my kids were born on a Monday, and # 3 my only left-handed child was born on a Sunday almost at Church. I started have contractions during Sunday school and decided to go ahead to the hospital instead of the main worship services. We had her a few hours later. Back labor is awful child # 4. Children and now grandchildren too are a blessing.

love that the next generation is sharing about the empowering experience of birth. I had two homebirths with no meds, and I also "caught" my own baby with our second son's birth. That was 31 years ago and it is still one of the most powerful and wondrous experiences of my life. Blessings for the three of you!

I love sharing my birth story with fellow moms or soon to be moms I have 2 children 7 and 9 and I don’t remember much of the hospital time with my first because the epidural made everything very foggy and I had some complications after my second was so magical with no meds it was a night and day experience from first to second. Your baby boy is absolutely perfect and I’m so happy for yall
