Glad you took Dakota to the vet and now know exactly what is wrong with her. Not everyone has a vet that can diagnose a sick bison.🙂 Thanks to DeJay for being available to help you work them.
You love your bison their your babies thank god thdy havd you taking care of them and loving thdm. It shows on the animal how they love you. I loved it
Maya just about got clobbered when you got home! Glad you got her the care she needed. There must be someting that can be done to combat all the flies that plague the bison. I see them flicking their tails and flinching in every video.
Those young ones, yearlings maybe?, they have such adorable faces... they are really cute. Little guys! Thanks for all the hard work you put into the videos for us. Gotta be a pain in the butt when you aren’t feeling good or something needs to be done... you are appreciated!!🙋♀️🦬♥️🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕🌟🤪🙏🏻‼️
Wow what a brave young man you are, but a very loving one who is passionate about his family as you are your beloved Bison. I wish your cow a full recovery & back to good health.
Incredible bisons transition from barn to carrier trolley, alot of hardwork, hopefully Dakota will do fine aftr proper treatment delivered for bite of horsefly
Very glad you got Dakota and the bulls to the vets! Hopefully things will start showing improvement in a month. I'm sure just having the vet check everyone out must bring some comfort knowing he got to see them all in person and do what he feels is necessary. Getting those bison loaded up and in and out of the trailer is no easy thing!
Dusty I grew up here in PA n one of the things my family did was go for a Sunday drive. We had a church camp near us in MD that was an old west town. They had Buffalo as we called them n my father went to school there in a 1 room school house, which is still standing. My Dad's been gone 10 yrs this past January. Watching your videos reminds me of all of the rides to River Valley Ranch to see the Buffalo. Good Luck with your animals.
It is so amazing that vast herds of Bison roamed the prairies centuries and survived without any kind of medical help from man. Thanks for the posting. Good on ya mate.
Good morning, you are my Bison Lover and teacher. You are always checking on them that's good. I pray that they be ok. They pretty and healthy, they are eating mighty good and you have came a long way raising those lovely bison. What an amazing job you have done. Thanks for sharing
Don’t usually comment on videos but I just wanted to say you are a good owner. Many rancher’s don’t bother, they will let nature take the animal. Props to you. Great Job‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸
Love your little herd and thought about Dakota, wishing her health during Xmas and always. These bison are very special and majestic creatures;thank you for keeping them so cared for :).
So glad you were able to get them into the vet. Hopefully she will be good as new in no time. Those calves have grown so much. All the Bison seemed a little more agitated than usual. I don’t think they’re too keen on being told what to do. LOL. Blessings on you, your family & your herd. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇺🇸🇨🇱👍😁❤️🙏
Way to go DeJay. I'm so glad your bison is on the road to be healthy.. Very interesting how you take care of you bison. Thanks for the videos. Good job DeJay. As always God Bless you and your family and your homestead ♥️ Keep the videos coming.♥️🇺🇸🥰
Oh yeah. It's a problem with sheeo as well. A fky burrows into a sheep's wool, kays eggs, Maggots hatch and the poor sheep is so miserable because it's so itchy. If the sheep has any kind of wound or scratch, then the Maggots get under the skin and it just gets worse. They call that a "Fly Strike" Maggots grow and beco
In the other videos you have put up the bison look pretty tame. After watching this one it doesn't look to me like they will ever be tame, it looks like they hate to be caged. They truly are a beautiful animal that I enjoy watching very much. Thank-you for putting these videos up and for caring enough to take the day off to get her taken care of. Hope this does the trick!
XD sadly bison can never be tamed its their dna. To keep a bison calm is key unfortunately in this scenario Dakota is already suspicious from being separated from the heard now he is trying to load them up and in the bison world they are scared because of the at of the normal change.
You did well. Vets are an important part of raising any livestock. When I was young we raised beef cattle. Cattle are a domestic animals and can be tricky to manage. Buffalo are not domestic and much more difficult to work with. You are adding to my education, thanks.
You did the right thing, if you're going to take on the responsibility of such a great animal as the bison then you have to be serious about their care. At least now you know what you're dealing with and now you can concentrate on getting Dakota better. Thank you for sharing this experience, I'm sure it will help others if they are concerned about their health. Great video Dusty, enjoyed as always, Rusty
Hey Dusty, glad you were able to get your bison to the vet.. who would have thought a horse fly could wreak that kind of havoc on animals like a bison. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well.
Dusty, it's smart to take them to the vet. Any farm animal is an investment, as well as a friend. Bison are, of course, huge! There are just things you cannot prevent, some you can. You're doing a good job. Climate affects a lot of things, including animals.
Sorry to hear this about your Bison Cow. Glad to hear she will be ok. Always best to be safe than sorry. Hard to take to Get but worth it so didn't lose her. Peace Be With You ☮️
Pràyers for the Swift recovery of Dakota.thanks for sharing trip to the vet. They sure are kind to u as they really could have hurt u when u crawled n to the Corelle with em to herd them into the horse trailer. Sure hope the trip to the vet turns her health.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Love your majestic animals and so glad she’s hopefully going to get better. Thanks DJ for helping your brotha! Appreciate you sharing and teaching us about the bison you love so passionately ❣️. Happy New Year ❣️
Glad you got it pen pointed so you can get her better. You have a lot invested in these animals and you do have to aggressive with their care. Glad you have a vet there that’s specializes in bison. Working with those bison is no joke, you have to be careful. We have doctor locally who has a bison ranch and he got gored once. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)
Glad it looks like she's going to be ok. I can tell how much you care for your animals. Keep up the good work and try to have a good day. Waiting on your next video.
You are a Very caring person. I admire you for that. The bison are impressive animals. I did not know anything about living in Pennsylvania. I knew of only 1 guy that had them. I loved to Drive by when I was in that area and watch them. But I have found out so much more watching your videos. I really enjoyed your caring and tenderness towards your animals thank you for deciding to do vlog’s
Boy, they don't like to cooperate do they? Good thing you had metal n between you😊glad she's ok otherwise😁get better sweet bison😁❤️horse flies... wow. Pestie bugs!!
Up here in Maine ticks carry anaplasmosis. My daughter and one of her dogs both contracted it and required treatment. Glad you took Dakota to the vet for diagnosis and treatment. Love your channel. Keep up the good work!
@@terrydodson430 They carry a litany of diseases easily transmitted to mammals through an often short time of attachment. When I moved to Maine in the 70s we didn't see them, now they are an incredible problem, and since it is warmer in winter up here, they easily overwinter. Very sorry to hear about your pup.
glad to hear you can control this. i use to work with pigs one place had400 sows and 10 boars. taking down a 400 + sow and holding her to give her a shot was hard. that was back in 75 when i was 24 and just out of the army
Keep Up The Good Work , I hope your bison get better . It's good to keep them check out. Wow I smile when you said you got the animals back. You are a great bison teacher and doctor that has done a lot of work to them lovely bison. I enjoyed your video all year round. Happy New year to you ,your lovely family and animals. Thanks for sharing
Nice video.....majestic proud creatures. What are you raising them for.....food? Thanks for sharing. Amazing how the Indians used the animals for everything. It was as it should be. Now the Indians are on reservations and Buffalo behind fences. The buffalo are lucky to have you for a loving kind owner. They need some since Ted Turner is too ill to watch after his herds. Thanks for sharing. God Bless you and your family young man. 🌿🕊
I'd strongly suggest getting Guinea birds to control the tick population. Also you can knock the tick population back by reducing the rodent population which is the 1st stage host for ticks, best way to do that is put up good barn owl houses that have the opening 600mm from the bottom of the box (that prevents the chicks from getting out before they're ready to fly).
I couldn't help but notice that the chute that they were in when the vet was tending to them was made in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. I grew up in Saskatoon, SK and had family near Quill Lake. It is such a small world. Here I sit near Edmonton, Alberta which is home now, watching a video of a Bison ranch in Oklahoma and I find a link to a place about 80km from where I grew up. Crazy, lol. xo Heather🇨🇦
I remember you saying they did not like any of the herd being separated. The others are really watching over them after their return from the vet. Do you have to do anything to decrease number of horseflies? Amazing animals! Keeping all of you in my prayers 💕
Thank you for the informative video. I love learning about and seeing Bison. Also I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas & a great New Year. Art in CA
