Will any opposition party have governed Singapore with well-thought multi-phased budgeting & planning to create the vibrant HDB communities, beautiful city skyline by the bay, extensive world class transport system, and still build deep pocket reserves to boost our economy that was at a standstill through tough months of Covid? Needless to say, contain the virus pandemic? Ensure living essentials continue to be imported for our people? Give us supply of clean water from our taps at low cost? Ensure racial and religious harmony? Give opportunities for children of any social status to rise up in society with education and diligence? Contain corruption? Keep our streets #1 safest (lowest crime rate) worldwide? Continue tactful, diplomatic ties with countries worldwide to maintain our global standing with trade partners which creates our high skill jobs? Now think about a scenario when a simplistic political team takes over, and short-sightedly tries to tackle immediate problems without understanding of the larger implications of each policy. Cascades of domino effect consequences jumbled into an epic incomprehensible mess. Oh, not to forget the immediate implications of an opposition victory. Markets skyfall 15% - 35% within a day. Companies will be worth half of what they were within weeks. Real estate prices tumble. And then heartlanders; common folk who will not know what hit them could have their life assets(mostly residential property value) wiped out. Global corporates pull out investments. Double digit unemployment within months. Peoples' incomes fall. Singapore will be in a downward spiral, treacherous uphill battle against time to undo repercussions and the progress of our nation built over 3 generations vaporized in a decade. Sadly, possibly our sons and daughters will become cheap labour, exploited of their welfare and deprived of rights. Those who do enough to know the reasons of their predicament will ask why we, our generation have been so foolish and complacent to take our well being as a nation for granted, to place our fate in the hands of the people who are a yards away from being the best possible team of minds to navigate our country's difficult present problems and plan for the scenarios ahead. We vote, for our future, and for our children's.

May I suggest you and all your audience tune in to Steve Bannon's RU-vid videos to understand the nature of the financial woes and "slavery" by elites globally that is masterminding most of the problems in my lives today and possibly for many generations. Do not dismiss SB "doomsday" views and analysis. It's a global disaster. But It is not the end of us. What we need are wise, courageous, visionary and empathetic leaders capable to make difficult decisions and take bold steps to change the system of governing Singapore. Present leaders have betrayed the people for political agendas. However the people must have boldness and the willingness to accept change to start afresh to plan for a brighter future for future generations. Let's not be self-centred to seek instant benefits only for ourselves. Some solutions takes time to be "reinvented". People must unite to support new leaders for our salvation.

The PAP govt should make all Singaporean a millionaire by using the CPF but unfortunately they became poor at the end of their tenure 99 year lease. Their HDB flat will be abolished and no compensation. So, Singaporean better start thinking for your future. The PAP govt knows their future because Ministers and MPs had became millionaire on their first term in the office. Can you see that??????
Just look at monthly groceries bill and you really see and understand the real cost of living. Another item is monthly public transport costs. Another item is healthcare costs for e.g. Dental bills. It ain't cheap and barely affordable.

Dr Chee, your subscribers only number in the low thousands.. ultimately, please realise that our population does not vote on policy platforms and ideas, but on material gifts, trust in the public servant and lift upgrades. The climate of politics in Singapore is sadly restricted to these elements. Moreover, despite your eloquence, your reputation has already been thoroughly tarnished by the PAP. Your best hope is to step out of the GRC race and put someone in that is eloquent to articulate your key positions and policies, as well as to promise to check on the govt. Saying that you'll reduce this tax and that expense is simple but not easy. The government can easily strike down these promises as motherhood statements. Show that you have the heart for the people. Back your policies up with research and numbers, or at least promise to further revise your liberal policies when more data is available. I strongly suggest that you Dr. Chee, personally only run in a SMC. Place your best candidates in a single GRC, or put everyone in SMCs, avoiding multi-cornered fights with the bigger opposition parties. Pool resources with WP, PVP and PSP on policy research. Have you tried disucssing your policy proposals with the other parties? what are their thoughts? can the alternatives pool together their resources to come up with a coherent policy platform that is largely aligned on the areas that you can agree on? Can the opposition not agree on a loose alliance of equals? i feel that, your best chance at success would be if the big 4 opposition, SDP, PSP, PVP and WP, assimilate the heavyweights and the resources of all the smaller parties. And of course, only those who ultimately propose credible policies and win seats get to be put into ministerial positions (even in a Shadow Cabinet) All the best.

Dr. Chee, indeed I fully agreed with you that one of the underlying reasons behind all these increases is the “extravaganza” item that is brought upon all citizens in the name “Hey Sporean！You deserved this, you deserved that.....” And when time to settle the bill, slowly but surely, most importantly, stealthly, PAP increase the tax. Our gov are supposed and obligate to do goodwill to our country and its citizen because we grant them the rights and ability through the vote. However, there are lots of people still praising our current gov led by PAP had brought prosperity to our country. Yes, only PAP in olden days deserves the praise where they had sacrificed themselves which lead Singapore to prime. The recent generation of PAP totally does not deserved the praise and shame on them if they accept the praise of our peoples. We always compare our gov to other gov in the poor country and think ours is very good but never against country that performs better than us.
