I don't know how everyone else does it but we always have our presents under the tree and then we all get a spot in the room and me and my brother hand out all the presents so that we each have a big pile of presents next to us. And when we were little we used to draw a picture for santa that we left with the milk, brandy, mince pie and carrot for rudolf. And in the morning there would always be ash from the fireplace on the carpet from where santa had come down the chimney which we would have to tidy up 😂 Loved hearing everyone's family traditions! I love all of your channels! Thank you for making me smile xx

Ace vlog Jay. ELLIS!!!!!! I’m 49 and to this day, NOBODY has ever heard of an after dinner gift. My favourite family tradition was seeing a very small gift on your side plate at the table. Growing up, there were 4 generations of us girls at the table (me, mum, nana, great granny) so this table gift tradition goes a fair while back. The principle behind it was that you weren’t to get it UNTIL you ate all of your Christmas dinner. Well, it worked! There’s never been a year where I didn’t eat my meal therefore I didn’t get my table gift. I’ve been with my hubby since I was 17, so I introduced it to my in-laws & it’s been passed on through to my niece & nephew now, and of course, my girls have had it their whole lives. It’s always small, often fun but occasionally this small gift can be the biggest & best gift ever. Like the year we gave my youngest daughter a photo of a kitten asking if she’d look after her forever. I’ve never seen happy tears like that since then. So, to the wonderful people out there with hyper kids, far too excited to eat - TABLE PRESENTS!!! High five Ellis. Chuffed to share this tradition with you. Looking forward to the next vlogmas vlog Joanna. Merry Christmas when it comes everybody. Pamie x

My parents always wrote notes from santa on my gifts and I would try and guess what each one was. My favorite was when the atomic purple gameboy came out I asked for one and the note on the present said they had run out of the atomic purple plastic so unfortunately santa had to give me a different color. I remember being so mad about it until I opened it up and saw that santa was only kidding with me and it was in fact an atomic purple gameboy. My mom passed away when I was 11 and I still have a stack of christmas paper with her handwriting on it that I love looking back on. I'm 29 now and my dad still writes notes from santa on my gifts!!

We moved all the time with the Army so we put up a tiny Christmas tree on a side table that stayed up and got redecorated for each of the guys' January Birthdays, then Valentines Day, my Birthday, Saint Patrick's Day, and finally Easter, after which it went back in the box.

I think this is my favorite video you've ever done! I love getting to hear everybody talk individually and how they get so excited talking about stuff that is so nostalgic. My family loves our Christmas traditions (even if some of them change every year :) ) My favorite tradition growing up was all 5 of us siblings would sleep in the same room until the first sibling got married. Now me and my other single sister sleep by the Christmas tree with our nieces and nephews.

We always have a list of movies we watch. All of my grandparents have unfortunately passed away and I'm an only child so I make sure to spend every holiday with my parents. We each pick our favorite movies and watch them. My Dad chooses A Christmas Story, my Mom chooses White Christmas and I usually choose The Grinch. My friends and I will text each other lines from the Grinch. We usually end the day with talking about our favorite memories of family members who are gone.

Every Christmas Eve we would go to my Grandma’s house to have dinner and open presents from the extended family. At the end of the night Grandma would go to her refrigerator and pull out 9 carrots 🥕 one for each of Santa’s reindeer, including Rudolph, for my sister and myself. When we got home our Dad would go to the garage, get the ladder, get on the roof and place all of the carrots on top.

Every Christmas my father and I would go to the Christmas Tree farm and walk through all the trees until we found the perfect tree and dad would cut it down and we'd drag it to the car and tie it on the roof and drive home. Many years later when he was quite old he sent me a Christmas card of a man and his little girl dragging a Christmas tree to the house and it made me cry. Such a happy memory.

We are in the Southern Hemisphere, so growing up, Christmas was spent aroud the pool with a braai (thats what South Africans call a Barbecue, but it's amped up to dizzy heights) we had to stay up till 12:00pm on Christmas eve, when the presents magically appear. So we have a full 3 days of non-stop eating.. Christmas Eve Get together with the whole family handing out presents, Christmas day get togetber for a huge lunch and pool lounging session and Boxing Day, which is my Brother's birthday, again family time with watermelon and all the best summer goodies... awww.. after that essay, I feel quite nostalgic now! 🥺❤

My boyfriend and I are working on building our own traditions, this will be our third Christmas together. Stockings are a must, having drinks when we decorate the tree, watching The Snowman before we go to bed on Christmas Eve, making yummy foods, and spending time with friends. We also have a few Christmas movies we make sure we watch in December. Being Canadian, the other big holiday tradition we that's important to us is watching the World Juniors ice hockey tournament, which starts on Boxing Day and goes into the new year.

I live in the states and on Christmas eve my family will pile in 1 vehicle, go to a gas station for snacks and go look at Christmas lights. 🎄 I now have a pickup truck 🛻 so my nephews and sister will climb in the back of the truck while I drive and my brother in law tells me where to go.

So many as a kid. We would open 1 gift on Christmas Eve, but it we didn't get to choose which one....my mom or dad gave us one to open. I always got chocolate covered cherries in my stocking. My mom also put a whole tomato in my stocking because I love tomatoes. We always had homemade fried dough with butter and maple syrup (the real stuff because we lived in Vermont) for breakfast. We would go to my maternal grandparent's house around noon and have lunch and gifts, then we would go to my paternal grandmother's house around 4 for dinner and gifts there. So many good memories. I live away from all my family now and don't get there for Xmas every year, but this year I am, and so excited for it! Merry Christmas to all of you!

Growing up my favorite tradition was opening the stockings. My grandma knit them for everyone so they were super special. Now that I'm a parent (to a 2yo and a 2 week old) we do matching Christmas pajamas and read polar express on Christmas Eve. This year we're also going to bake the cookies for Santa. We love about a half hour from the biggest Christmas store in the world so we also go get a special ornament every year. Christmas is the best, but it's extra fun when you're the parent

My parents never celebrated Christmas with us so my sister and I had to come up with our own traditions. I just do holiday movies, hot chocolate, I turn off all the lights and only have my Christmas tree lights up and I get as comfortable as possible. Turn off my phone and soak up as much Christmas as I humanly can hahaha I also try to spend as much time with my friends and try to make Christmas memories. Truly the gifts are the last thing we think about and I think that's the only positive that came out of my parents not celebrating anything with us, as adults we now appreciate the holidays for what they should be which is spending time with your loved ones.

For Christmas, all my family get together at my aunts house and we play charades. There is a bucket with phrases or words and we have to act it out and no talking. When it’s guessed right the person acting gets a mystery present that “random family member bought”(we bring extra presents for games “doesn’t have to be expensive “ and already wrapped) , then the person who guessed picks a new phrase or word and it’s their turn to act it out; etc…..it’s always fun because when acting out; it feels silly but I always end laughing so hard.

The only main tradition in my family growing up and my wife and I continued and still do for Christmas presents is that they ALL get wrapped. We were called odd one year by a family that don't wrap their presents. And I don't understand why? Any and ALL presents, be it Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries, etc.... Get wrapped in wrapping paper and should be.

You guys should definitely play the. In Sweden we call it "Julklapps-leken" and it's basically a game where everyone has to buy 1 or 2 Christmas-presents for a small amount of money, we usually have two presents for 10 bucks each. You wrap them so nobody knows what's inside and everyone then gets together and put their presents in a pile in the middle of a table. The game then consists of rolling a dice. When you get a 1 or a 6 you get to pick a present and keep with you. You usually set a timer so you have between 10-30 min (depending how many players). The dice then goes on to the next player and so on. When all the presents in the original pile are picked, you get to steal presents that somebody else has already picked (when you get a 1 or a 6 on the dice). The game stops when the timer beeps, and those present you have in your own pile, you get to keep and open. The fun with this is that you never know when the timer will beep, so everyone always gets super stressed when someone steels a present you have in your own pile. The presents could literally be small stupid things, wrapped up in large beautiful boxes, so it appears more appealing. But you never know this until the timer beeps, and you get to open them. Might be a fun thing for you guys to try🥰🥰 Cheers from Sweden❤️🇸🇪

Our family have always had warm croissants out the oven for breakfast before going to church. We would open our stockings, have breakfast, get ready and then we’d get one present to open before church (our church always let the kids come up to the front to show one present they got) and then after church we’d do all the other presents

My family were church goers and we went to church on Christmas Eve at 11pm singing carols with a church full of people and listening to the Christmas story. Then we'd all walk home, have mince pies and coffee before we all gathered around the tree and dished everything out. Magical times. Even now I try to go to church Christmas Eve even though I'm not religious anymore.

So i had a few traditions, when i was younger i used have a Maccies because mum and dad didn't want to cook, i'd crack on a christmas movie on the tv, most likely Miracle on 34th street or It's a Wonderful Life and somewhere i would have the santa tracker on making sure to update my family on where he was, we then always put out a carrot, a kit kat and some whiskey for santa (yes we gave santa whiskey). In the morning me and my brother would always get up early, normally my brother would wake me up and then we'd go downstairs to see if Santa had been, we were allowed to open our stockings, i always had the snowman one and my brother had the bear one but we always had to wait to open our presents for the whole family to be awake and gather round the tree whilst the top ten Christmas songs were playing on the tv. It would always be quite stressful during the day as my mum would stressing about cleaning up wrapping paper and getting the house ready for when extended family come over for Christmas dinner but once people arrive it's a good ol time.

My family's Australian christmas! Wake up and get one present before breakfast, then go to church. Once we get back from church we have a barbecue with all my siblings and their partners, and my grandparents. Open all our Christmas presents after lunch, then if it's a hot sunny day, go to the beach for a few hours or hang around in the back garden on a picnic rug drinking beer and apple cider (and any other alcoholic beverage we can find 😂) For dinner my parents and I go to my great aunts house to meet with my dads side of the family (so my first cousins) and we have dinner while watching the Queens speech on TV, then open Christmas presents together ❤ Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas 🎄 😊

We actually had a few different Christmas traditions growing up that I have been trying to keep doing for my daughter . First one was going to a Christmas tree farm and picking out our tree and cutting it down. The owners always had apple cider and fresh hot homemade donuts for everyone and each child got a candy cane. Dad loaded up all 7 children to do this and Mom usually stayed home to make dinner and pull out the boxes off Christmas decorations. On Christmas Eve we were allowed to open 1 present either before or after going to the Christmas service. My parents had to create a rule that we couldn’t go downstairs on Christmas morning until after 6 AM after our eldest sister had woken up all of us extremely early because her clock was upside down and our parents had literally just fallen asleep. On Christmas morning we are only allowed to look at what we got in our stocking and what Santa had left for us, because he didn’t wrap our presents from him, until our parents woke up and came downstairs. It helped us a lot to have setup the coffee maker so that we just had to start it so our parents could have a nice hot cup of coffee while we started opening our presents. Mom also made this amazing cinnamon and walnut coffee cake with a strudel topping a couple of days before Christmas because it got even better as it waited in a airtight cake container. Mom would start serving it after the coffee was ready and she and Dad had woken up a bit more. Sometimes she would make us take a break from opening gifts to actually go to the kitchen and eat breakfast which was usually scrambled eggs and bacon to go with the Christmas coffee cake. By the time we were in our teens we could have a cup or mug of hot tea that we daily in a large kettle that stayed on a back burner all day because the pilot light kept it warm. We removed the infuser that held the tea leaves once it was steeped to how we liked it. The last tradition I started for our daughter was to purchase a special Christmas ornament that related to something she liked or had done during the year which we planned to give her once she got married. As a family each year we would also pick out a new ornament as a family as well as a personal one or to add to one of our collections ( Santa Claus, pewter or silver, and blown glass ornaments). It has been harder to carry on some of the traditions since the Christmas tree farm closed, we moved after our parents sold our childhood home and the very metropolitan area near Washington DC to the rural area in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia, and over the last 10 years we have lost both of my parents and both of my husband’s parents and my eldest sister passed away back in May of this year. Our youngest sister has done everything possible to tear our family apart from the moment she moved back to Virginia after living in California for 10 years and having very little communication with anyone other than our parents when she wanted money or something she wanted and wanted them to buy for her. Because of this I really haven’t seen my siblings since 2015. She wouldn’t let me see our father after putting him in a assisted living center and tried to claim that he had Alzheimer’s which he didn’t. After 3 years she allowed us to take him to dinner because she basically needed a babysitter while she ran errands and spent more of his money. Basically it was only on her terms when she needed or wanted something. On that day I had had a surgical procedure done and was in a lot of pain which she knew but it was see him then because who knew if or when we might see him again. It was the last time we ever saw him. I received a text message that he had passed away. Over the next few weeks I would learn that he had been unconscious for 4 days prior to his death and that he had died over 24 hours before I was told.

It is just my daughter and I so we still do the pajamas, stockings, and presents must wait until after breakfast. She is 37 and like Ellis once she gets her video games and books (she reads everything) she is gone to her part of the house and I am lucky to see her when we eat or go to workout at the gym (2 hours daily of weight training is a must in this house).

Merry, Happy, Joy-Joy Blogmas! I always spend holidays with my mom and she watches American football…which I hate. So I wait for Basketball!! We laugh and have fun! Best of holidays to you. You are quite the Energizer Bunny! Best, Lauren

My favorite traditions still are Christmas eve- Oyster stew at grandmas house with all the cousins. Christmas morning - opening stockings full of oranges, nuts, candy canes and all the varieties of hard christmas candy.

One that me and my missus have started since our little boy was born 6 years ago and still do it now with him and his little sister whose 3, would be pancakes for breakfast, but they’d be cinnamon sugar on them; for a bit of Christmassy pancakes; then it’s presents but we’d leave ours until the night time when the kids are in bed; so we have our own little nice Christmas night with a baileys and ice cream every year!

These are brilliant. We do the PJs one but also always have to do crackers and wear the paper crowns and have to play charades!

In Australia, when I was little we never left out bickies and milk for Santa It was always a burbon for Santa and some carrots for the reindeer. But by far my favourite Christmas traditions are actually the Irish centered ones, hot chocolate with bushmills with movies on the couch and the aircon running on Christmas eve and porridge with bushmills for breakfast Christmas morning

I think just being with family is my favourite part of it. Being all cosy after dinner with a film on, drink in hand, the tree lights on and just lying on the sofa burst cause you’ve eaten too much 😂!

Merry Vlogmas to you 🎄 Current tradition is going to the movies on Christmas Day. Our local (Sydney Australia) cinemas have been open on Christmas for the last 10 years or so, and pre pandemic that’s what we did. Hoping to do so again this year. We also follow the Santa tracker on Christmas Eve for fun every year.

My mom and I when we are together drink a bottle of wine and “try” to build a gingerbread house. But now we drive around on Christmas Eve with hot coco and look at the lights ❤️

With my kids grown and young, I always get them a Terry's chocolate orange. And with the younger kids, we always get a new ornament with our initial and one that we pick out special. The day we pick our ornament the tree goes up.

Loved this video. Also loved the bit about the coins in your stockings....I carry an old 2p coin because my pug is named Tuppence.

My husband and I take it in turns each year to buy a new bauble that mean something to use for the Christmas tree, so we now have a very varied collection of baubles as well as normal ones.

Since the 80s my whole family and friends would always go to a local pub on Xmas eve becayse they would get a santa in and do presents and karaoke for the kids with Xmas songs and games for each table. But 3 years ago the pub stopped doing it 😭 its not been the same since need to find a new tradition

Ooo I forgot, we also have a house that it's fully done up and do their own switch on day, so we call it Santa's house and go for a drive past it, I've moved town but i still go back to drive past it every Xmas eve which we have done for the last 31 years even when we actually lived on a different country we still come a see it while seeing family.
