Our Dad Reacts to "First Love" and "Young Forever" 

He metioned his mom there: ”I feel so nice, mom, I feel so nice”, but at that part he is just telling his mother that he wants to do music, he likes it.

What an awesome reaction, I absolutely love when people look into the lyrics and the music itself and try to make sense of it. You're one of the very few people who actually do that instead of doing some meaningless BTS video reaction for views that are now all over the internet. Actually, Suga mentioned "Mom", but it didn't mean the piano was his mom. It meant he told his mom that he felt so nice with the piano and wanted to buy it, I guess. :-D BTW, I love your reaction video a lot and your father's reaction is good as well.

Please do more with your Dad because not only are you extremely intelligent, his experience with lyrics and understanding is what especially new ARMYs need to know as they are clueless of the whole journey of BTS. With so much lyrical content of what is happening today, one needs to be stimulated to think and feel while listening to BTS music or any music and the lyrics are pretty good in meaning in translation which the world can understand as all are feeling the same way.

Setting 'aflame' do mean to throw away or demolish something but in Korean we also use the expression to say how passionate you are like the one in FIRE 불타오르네~ . So when I heard this song first love I thought that line had two existing meanings: I set you aflame but that only made his passion for music even stronger

i love your dad reaction...is this a new series you and your dad,just want to share there was theory that i read ..piano is symbolism of music...Yoongi really loves music..and piano is a medium between music and yoongi..for a flame part..he denied the feeling of that he don’t want to be related with piano(music) ever again but Yoongi just cant let it go coz his affections and love for music much more stronger than that..but your theory also make sense to Yoongi s story coz his parent was reject Yoongi s dream to be musician in the beginning ..and still i really like your dad s reaction..

Hi dad, you should be proud of your lovely two daughters. It's so nice to meet your father. In the lyric, there's 'I feel so nice, mom, I feel so nice.' as a young boy, he said to his mom when he plays piano. Launa, I think your dad must be the biggest fan of your channel.

There is a part where he says "I feel so nice, Mom, I feel so nice." i think is what he was mentioning. I enjoy how well he understands the lyrics and symbolism, i never thought of some of things he had said. You could always show your him the Born Singer as good one for a group performance.

American hip-hop is not bad, its just the few mainstream ones. Some of the deepest songs I've heard is from hip-hop genre. But I can understand why he said that but he didn't have enough knowledge about Hip hop genre

About "First Love": Suga does mention his mother at the beginning ("I feel so nice mom, I feel so nice"), I believe as a child (in his memory) he was telling his mom how much he enjoyed playing the piano. Also, it's funny that your dad had the impression he was calling the piano "mom" because I remember Suga does refer to music as "his mother" in a few other songs. I think that is very powerful. About Young Forever: everyting you and your dad said was pure gold.

Your father is so great when it comes to understanding, finding the symbolisms, etc... I really appreciate how you both looked into the lyrics so I just wanted you to know the video you watched does NOT have the correct translations in some parts; it feels like someone used google translate and you know how accurate those are... The part about the "I set you aflame"

Your father seems to have a better grasp on the meanings of these songs then I hate to say most Army! The problem with Young Forever people get so caught up in the storyline that they totally miss out on what the song is actually saying! Also like many of their other songs they make it can have more than one meaning plus being in a maze is representing youth and trying to figure out which way to go until eventually going from either adolescents or just finally figuring out the right choices to be free to go as high up to your dreams which is represented by the plane! Don't forget BTS will eventually have to go in the military which is required and there is always the worry about how it may effect the group in the future! Also your Dad was right! He does mention his Mom in the beginning of that song I feel so nice Mom. He is basically telling and making aware to his Mom what the piano music means to Him! Remember his music notes and compositions were taken and thrown away by his Mom and she refused to let him have anything to do with music! That is one of the reasons he left home and why the first time his parents showed up for their concert he looked for them and when he saw them he bowed down to show respect and broke down in tears because they finally accepted him along with his music and he proved that he could indeed be successful playing music!

I think this is my favorite reaction video ahh. watching someone break it down and really look into the meanings of the video and lyrics is just amazing to me because thats what i find the most special in their songs. Your father is really smart, thoughtful and I actually appreciate that he has a strong opinion about things. 😸 More importantly, he seems like a very nice dad. ❤️ Also, everything he said about the lyrics was interesting and I happen to agree with almost all his points. He may not know BTS transversal storyline, but the lyrics of the songs often have an independent meaning or topic apart from the storytelling in the music videos... (Or sometimes are intentionally open to interpretation.) So, I believe your dad's analysis is valid and accurate if we are considering the lyircs independently from the visuals. 👏🏽✌🏽

Forgive me, but I just want to say that there is more quality American lyrical rap out there than some might think, it just doesn't often get as much mainstream attention. I do understand where you're coming from, as I share some of your discontent with the direction that part of American rap has been taking. But I'm not sure that this applies more to American rap than it does elsewhere. (Korea has its own share of "macho" rappers, as you may know, especially if you know about the B-Free vs. BTS saga.) For example, I can't help but wonder what you and your dad might think of the song "Hate in a Puddle" by indie Ohio rapper Illogic. (Not asking you to do a reaction video or anything like that, unless you want to - just curious.) It has essentially no swearing (he says "damn" once if that counts), emotional expression of insecurity and some spiritual themes, top-notch lyricism, and an unconventional music sample of Peter Nero's Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet. Alternatively, if you're interested in what is basically a science fiction sociopolitical allegorical story told in rap form, there's the song "Annihilation of the Evil Machine" by indie Houston rapper K-Rino. Also no swearing in this song, and no repetitive hook either. It's part of an extended story in his concept album of the same name as the song. But I apologize for rambling about this in a BTS reaction video comments section. I really appreciate the discussion in this video and in all of your videos that I've seen.

Suga's First Love is my absolute most favorite song out of all the songs I have ever hear by any artist, or made by BTS, or any member, or their team of brilliant writers and producers. I connect to this song on a spiritual level; from both the musicality and lyrically. I cry everytime I hear it; even more so when I read the lyrics. I feel hopeful in the end, because if he can come back to it (music/piano), so can I (music). I'm so glad he did come back to it and wrote this song. Not just for my pleasure, but for the fact that the song seems to say that Suga feels complete now with it in his life. He can now express himself properly - through it (loosing, stepping away from, or giving up on it - that torment, could have been the biggest source of depression for him [but I don't know, I'm not Yoongi]). I don't know if anything I said made sense. I'm still crying. I love that song, and I love you and your dad's insights into my favorite song. Thank you for this!
