Hosanna and I have the same hair texture, so I am speaking from experience to keep your flat iron passes down to no more than 2 per section and learn the "chase method" with a comb, which will help limit any heat damage and help get your hair straight. Love the girls hairstyles. Another texture you could try with the Halle to get that mermaid beach wave look is spraying with leave in conditioner and plaiting the hair leaving it to air dry or popping under the dryer. Making straight hair curled is not always very simple or one size fits all. Heat may not work. You might need to set it overnight in rag curls. Or use a different product. It takes time to figure out what works for your hair.

What Halle needs is a curling wand with a smaller barrel that will help hold the curls better with her looser textured hair also to help hold the curls try pinning it after you use the wand until you finish the whole-head and then let it drop, the curls will have a longer time to set in and be more defined, but you girls look beautiful either way. I see the way Hosanna, Halle and Harper are growing up to be very kind and considerate young ladies. So great to see such a safe and comfortable environment you've provided all your children and how they are able to express their emotions openly in a safe place.

Awe, I can see Halle’s frustration. I know how she feels. I think she had a different vision for how she wanted it to turn out, but she’s got very long, thick hair and it won’t hold a curl without mousse or gel or hairspray, especially with the length and weight. But just like Dad said; practice makes perfect. If she keeps up the attempts, she’ll figure out how to make it work. And little sister was so cute, coming down from upstairs to make her sister feel better was adorable. What a sweet and empathetic girl. Good learning lesson on how to problem solve!

Halle’s hair would curl with the right gel and small rollers or a small curling iron. The girls are beautiful regardless of their hair, inside and out.❤

one tip for hosanna is to add a leave in conditioner spray and heat protectant first to wet hair (after washing) then thoroughly blow dry the hair. u want to get it as straight as possible with the hair dryer. and then go ahead and add a serum and then straighten the hair in small sections. it’s basically an at home silk press ☺️ and i will be trying this myself very soon! if i remember i will edit this comment for an update of how my hair turned out. -both halle and hosanna’s hair is absolutely stunning!!

They sound like me and my sisters when we were growing up. We loved when we would get our hair staightened out and had some curls put it . Its so much fun and you look grown up -if only for a little while. You both look so cute.

Awwwww feel for Hallie… I’m a hairdresser and before she started I was saying the barrel on the tong is to big and isn’t gonna be what she wants!(sad)… also some advice, for a new person using tongs, just wrap the hair round the barrel first to get use to using such a hot tool. Hallelujah Rose, my hair is very soft as well. I was taught how to keep curls by using the brown paper bag method. Just tear off about 10 inches and roll it up, tie it up overnight, and oh my goodness perfection. Hosanna 😂you and Hallelujah, together in one spot, the same mission uplifting. Hosanna has the hair most women love...thick and full of body. Halle's hair doesn't need a lot of heat on it...only needs curlers, not heat. Both girls are lovely, straight or curly.

For long hair, use mousse and rollers overnight. The old-fashioned homemade material ones are easiest to sleep in and work great. You could also do single twist, then put them in pinwheels with a bobbypin hold using mousse and sit under the dryer. For the straight hair with the right products and tools, she can blow dry it straight using less heat.

No No No....Wait Wait, Wait. A hotroller set should be done on Halle's hair for a curly style, and it will last longer. Hot curling irons cause so much heat damage on natural hair. Also, doing a silk wrap on Hozanna's hair will be perfect for a straight style for curly hair. I am happy to see the girls using heat protection... very important. But both the girls have gorgeous hair either way.😊

Hello Grimwade Family! Such a beautiful family! Hosanna & Halle, you both are awesomely amazing! I love how Hosanna was like, "OMG! IS THIS REALLY ME" type vibe. On the other hand, Halle Boo, you got this girly. Just a suggestion, try using a smaller barrel curling iron as well as some spritz. Let the iron stay a little longer but make sure it's hot enough where your hair can stand the heat. Be patient with it cause sometimes our hair has a mind of its own. @6:15 I can relate to that feeling of loving the true color of your hair that God has given to you. As the grays continue to roll in, I remain reluctant to dye my hair. I know there will be no exact color match and I really love the shade of brown it is naturally. I r e a l l y like the way it looks as the sunset reflects off my mahogany strands. It is truly a think to behold to love oneself and to uphold God's creation. Straight or curly, it's a wonderful thing. Blessings, Fam.

Both girls’ hair is very beautiful before and after. If I may just give a bit of advice from experience: For both girls, start at the ends not the roots or middle with detangling / combing / brushing, and work your way up to the root. The closer to the ends you start, the better. For Hosanna (her hair texture is close to if not identical to my own hair texture): after shampooing, detangle (starting from tips of hair). After detangling, use a hair dryer with a comb attachment, while the hair is still fairly damp, drying it in small sections (15-20 sections total). The trick is to have the hair stretched out the entire time it’s being blown dry. If you do it right, you won’t even need a flat iron afterwards. It does require practice. Once it’s straight and dry, you can optionally apply a small amount of moisturiser by rubbing it in palms and applying evenly over the hair. I recommend any of the following: Aveda Brilliant pomade, all-natural cacao butter (the edible kind) or Nilotica shea butter.

I think they both have beautiful hair no matter which way they style it. I have 4c hair and get my hair silk pressed twice a month. I was afraid afraid of heat damage at first, but my hair is healthier and longer than it has ever been. I think Hosanna could try it but not frequently.

I love you all but Rue holds a special place in my heart ❤ I absolutely love that at their ages they even attempted to not only try but the equipment and not 1 burn. 😊 Impressive! Just 2 tips. For Hosanah, when running the flat iron down her hair strands use a small tooth comb infront of the iron and her hair would be more straight. And would help with the ends. Ofcourse if that is how she wants it. For Hailey, try either a smaller barrel iron with smaller sections and I believe she would get the look she is desiring. Pin the curls so they set then when done pull the pins and let those beautiful curls drop. Also to help her out there are new irons that auto rotate, so that may help her as well given the length of her hair it would be more manageable. Girls job well done!
