Roger Bagley. I made my first comment before I finished watching your interview. You’re good bro!! I’m sorry you went through that stress, those dark times. You are through it now!! I think you’re very cool and one of the best skateboarding ambassadors. I’m impressed with your talent on the board and with the camera and your values are straight. Word! Live!!🛹❤️💯
Thank you for still being here with us Rog. In those dark moments please come back to this comment and realize that Tomorrow is always a new day, and there is always a way through the darkness.
This was great Roger. Killing those curbs. Miss the old Boston days. Glad you are happy again brother. Have been in dark places and appreciate you sharing. -doug
Everyone says that about everyone is skating. Ah he’s the best dude ever! Not saying he’s not cool, but you don’t know him. I’d say that about someone in close with instead of a random.
Roger, your a gem of a human and I appreciate you. Thank you for always being real, I was in that spot several years ago. I got help from my local VA, im way better and still skating the best I can. Much love Rog !!!
Roger is a relatable guy. I only tuned into the experience because of him. I hope he has a long successful career in skateboarding no matter where he is and what he’s doing. Roger is the truth.
Oh man didn't know Roger was going through so much. More power and support to him! Really like him on the show and the show in general and really like the beginning of this video of him skating.
LOVE YOU ROG’! I appreciate you opening up man and just know your contributions to skateboarding are loved by all of us. From One Step Beyond, Viva La Bam, Nine Club Nd everything else ME AND A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL.+++ MUCH LOVE Thank you as well V.P.+++
This was a great piece! Thank you Roger for being real with us. I think many of us can relate to different parts of this story. You're a huge talent, and I'll quietly cheer you on from now on.
You matter! You make a huge difference to those that know and love you but you also matter all of us that are getting to know you and cherish what you guys do
I have always been team Rog. I very much enjoyed the nine club for the first 2 years but after that it became a bit too...idk...I'm not gonna say "the happy and always positive club" because that's a good thing in many ways but...They just stayed in their "let's never offend anyone and everything is amazing always" lane which...Idk...That's just not how life is for skateboarders or anyone and it just got kind of corny and repetitive to me. I respect the 9 club but it was not for me anymore. Rog tho...He just always came across as a real mofo. Hard working. As transparent as he could be given all the circumstances and just a cool individual. It WAS really brave of Roger to share his experience in such an honest way to echo isoundinfo's comment. Keep doing your thang Rog. Stay in touch with how you are feeling and go with your intuition. I appreciate you. And lastly he's one hard working cat. Props for it all.
What a great video!! I almost didn't watch it because I thought it was the Skate Hoarders video that Rog did (thumbnails look very similar)..Idk that anyone would make the same mistake that I almost made, but I'd hate for the video to not be seen and get views because it's incredible! We love you, Rog! Shout out anyone being vulnerable, open, and honest!
Appreciate the honesty Roger, means a-lot more than you know to people you don't know and thats a powerful thing. Stay positive, we're all here for each-other. Thanks again.
Holy schneekies this is rad! Big ups to Rog! Skating in that wind/ mouthfuls of sand is ultra gnar °°° Mr scruff is a good choice. So stoked to hear about new Rog.
S/o to Roger. Every time he speaks I try so hard to take in what’s being said. Gives real wisdom vibes. I love you Rog! Glad you’re doing the things that make you happy!
One step beyond was such a good video.. I wanted to be like all the skaters in that video when I got older. Now I'm older I'm still terrible but that passion it gave me will never die.. Woohoo
That was a really great video, thanks Roger for sharing the heavy bits. Definitely been in the same situation before where the walls are caving in and stress is getting out of control. Always good to remind yourself there's other options than just suffering. Kudos.
Thank you Roger for speaking up about your struggles. I’ve definitely been in that dark place before. For those that are currently in a similar situation, I promise you that life will get better if you ask for help. Please, don’t choose a permanent “solution” for a temporary problem.
Roger, you kick ass, opening up like that takes a lot, took a lot, and was well worth it. Keep up the keepin' up. Gonna spin by sometime to say hello, I know I keep sayin', this reminds how important it is. Take care and stay strong!
I have such great memories of spending time at Positive on Newbury Street, especially the summer of ‘96, Rog! You lent me Useless Wooden Toys and I made a copy of it I still have to this day. I thought that was so cool you trusted me with your tape. Then I borrowed I think Virtual Reality, and by now I was bragging to my friends that the guy at Positive lends me out his skate videos from his private collection. Great memories! -Remy
Roger is such a lovely guy, such a unique character and a treasure for Skateboarding. I wished that they packed their shit and moved to Florida when Covid happened instead of being locked in LA with the toxic mandates that lead to depression. Maybe they would not burn out. Still what a great video and I hope you do follow ups with Roger in the future, he has so much knowledge to share about Skateboarding.
Damn I would have never imagined it fucked him up this much, I always loved seeing him on the show. Suicide fucking sucks and it just leaves you with all these questions, I've lost a few friends to it and I went deep into the hole myself and was almost envious of them for managing to get out of it all at one point. Seeing him doing good and dealing with all of it in a good way genuinely made me happy, fuck yeah Rog!
Always love seeing the behind-the-scenes human side of skateboarding. I assume the buried episode was the Glen Friedman one? I could see how that one would send a bunch of sheep to hit the dislike button.
