Hey Shannon, I just got my first jab of JYNNEOS smallpox/monkeypox vaccine! I’m not a medical professional, but I just got the vaccine about 2 hours ago, and so far I feel good, but they said I should expect a fever and generally flu like symptoms for a day or two

Saw on news this AM that Chatham County Health Department is offering the vaccine this week by appointment only. News also showed Florida with 450+ confirmed cases and Georgia with 430+ confirmed cases . Glad your both doing well.

Thank you for making this! Just got my first shot yesterday, not feeling too hot right now but I’m also feeling less bad then when I got the COVID vaccine (woke up achey and fatigued this morning but I don’t think I have a fever yet). And I’ll definitely take this over what it appears to feel like having monkey pox. I’m not totally sure of what vaccines I got as a kid but I don’t recall getting the smallpox vaccine. They gave it (monkey pox vaccine) in my forearm which was interesting. I do have a red sore developing on my arm where I got the shot, but I was told that’s normal and goes away. I’m very grateful to work for, home right now because I don’t have enough PTO to take the day off and my brain is currently to tired to be productive lol.

Thank you for watching. They are now doing the vaccine sub-dermal in the forearm which was different than ours. That started two weeks after we got out 1st dose. All the best to you.

Hi guys. I got the vaccine two days ago, Sep 28, 2022. I have had noticeable reaction such as a 1 inch circular rash around the injection site. Also, a full body ache and general tiredness. My chest and back feel like I have been through a rigorous workout at the gym. Just wanted to post to let know that side effects can be present such as mine. Not a big deal, I’ll survive this well I’m sure. I had the shot in my right forearm and as I mentioned two days into the process I still have a 1 inch circular red mark around the injection site.

Hi guys thanks for keeping people informed especially our LGBT community. Sadly to say I did have sideffects of red bumps, almost like bug bites such as mosquito. They would appear and get bigger, also when touched it would itch and some are still visible even after a few weeks. It seems I am one that has a reaction to the vaccine, not a fun experience. I am just considering 1 shot as well, since I have had the smallpox vax when I was a child. BE WELL HUGS!!!.........Vince

yeah, got mine tuesday. Last night I woke up itchy and had bumps. My doctor said many have had this reaction.

I received my first dose today and it was suspiciously painless. I didn't even feel the usual 'pinch' when getting an injection. A few hours later and still no pain. It's like my arm wasn't injected at all. Is that normal? Anyone else have a similar experience?

Day one we also had no pain during the injection and afterwards. It wasn't until about 24 hours later that we felt it. How are you doing now?

Hello and thank you for watching. Gio had some side effects and he shares them in the video. We both had a bump under the skin where the injection was given and it went away after a week.

I got a big, hard bump a few days after. My arm started aching a couple days ago, and it's really bothering me, but it's just aching. I'll live. Wish I'd gotten it on my other arm because it bothers me when I use the computer mouse. Don't know how long this aching is supposed to last. I got the first dose one week ago today. The swelling has gone down, and the hard bump is much smaller. How are you feeling?

Was told this vax covers lifetime, however you mentioned 2yrs? I had my 2nd one today in my inner forearm and 1st one was in top part of arm. Different to the lower arm as you mentioned. Does where you got it matter? Thanks

Hi Saba, we are not medical professionals so we cannot comment on the effectiveness of where the injection is given on the body. The 2 year comment was based on our medical doctor saying that since it had been more than 2 years since we had the Small Pox vaccine, it was a good idea to get this vaccine as it would act like a booster for us.

Ugh I got mine yesterday and it's kicked my but. The injection spot is swollen and itchy, my muscles ache, I'm tired. If this is the vaccine I'm certainly glad I didn't get the real deal haha I do wonder if the fact I got the other smallpox vaccine ~10 years ago when I was in the Navy is part of why I'm having such a strong response, but it's been 10 years and I think they said they normally recommend a booster after 5 if you're at risk so they said to go ahead and get it. On the plus side she said I might not need a booster and to check in with CDC guidance.

I got the Mpox vaccine - no side effects- however nickel/quarter size circle developed at the injection site after the first of two shots-second was a was about 2 weeks after the first-there a an occasional itch - but never any pain- I was going to ask the Nurse about “ circle”- didn’t have to ask- there 3 other people to get their 2nd shot as well- we all had the same circle on arms- the Nurse “ let’s get started- I see every one has “ their circle”- we all laughed in obvious agreement- it only took minute and again-no side effects- the circle disappeared after a while

The aching is really bothering me today, day 7 after the first dose. It's been aching about 3 or 4 days. The swelling and hard bump have reduced in size dramatically. I wish I'd had the injection in my non-dominant arm.

It was the worst decision I ever made. My joints are now painful. I have muscle weakness. Trouble walking now. I was good before I was forced into it by my dr. I am almost a cripple now.

I got my initial vaccine a week ago. They Injected me in the forearm and it HURT. I've had a red swollen welt since then with very little improvement through the week. I also got somewhat sick the following day

They started doing the forearm (sub-dermal) injections about one week after we got ours. It is comment to have the swollen area for one to two weeks according to data about it. At least you are now at higher protection from getting it or if you do, a much more mild case. Thanks for watching.

Got mine yesterday afternoon injected in the right arm. Red mark appeared Sunday morning. Slight itch. Sunday night my right arm, right shoulder and right side of the neck feel sore like I had been working out. Feels uncomfortable and hard to sleep.

It’s been a week since my first vaccine for MPox and the site where they did the vaccine looks like a giant bug bite. It is slightly raised, meaning there is a bump. And the area looks like a double circle. It’s slightly itchy, and irritating to touch. Pending my second Dose at the end of the month.

We haven't had the booster yet because we both had Covid (Omicron most likely) after we had our first two doses and our 1st booster. Our Dr. said we should wait and get the updated booster in late January based on our personal history with Covid.

As we indicated in the video, it is best to contact your local Health Department to determine how they are administering the vaccine in your local area. We were able to get it because Gio had a potential exposure in the workplace.

I took the vaccine yesterday at like 8am and I’m someone that’s living with hiv and did have a reaction to it 😩 even as the day of today I’m feeling weak and super dizzy got a fever of 101 but the dr says it’s normal because your body is creating anti bodies pray for me how it goes in the next 24 hours

I got the vaccine yesterday. When she stuck the needle my arm spasmed. Later that day I felt like I was having hot flashes. Today, (also post dinner) I feel slight soreness in the arm at the site of the injection, and I feel very tired.

Getting the Monkeypox Vaccine had nothing to do with us being exclusive to each other . As a matter of fact, we are 100% Monogamous and we don't judge others who are not.
