Casey, thank you so much for sharing!! Unfortunately and fortunately I can 100% relate. All of my fondest childhood memories are also at Disney and particularly at Fort Wilderness, especially with my Dad who passed away when I was young as well. Kyle, please pass along my condolences and appreciation for Casey sharing and tell her that she is not alone in feeling how she feels. At least one person completely understands how she feels and all the mixed feelings that go along with it. ❤ Also, 1000% agree with Casey’s thoughts on Trails End! 😢 And I used to go to River Country too. P.p.s. Right now I’m also caring for my mom just diagnosed a few months ago with stage four lung cancer 💔😢💝💕 But she’s in decent spirits and we’re all just trying to make the best of the situation and the time we still have with her until she eventually goes to heaven 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️💕

Casey! I relate to this so much! I grew up going to Disney with my family, my Dad specifically loved it so much. He would plan ever single part of our trip, which paved the way of how I plan my trips now! I lost my dad to cancer when I was 16 (I’m about to be 25 now). I cry every time I’m in the parks and I feel so much more connected to him when I’m there because it was always our special place. Much love to you girl❤

The first time I came to Disney was in 1982, I was about 14 or 15, and we stayed in Fort Wilderness, it to is the place we stay the most! I have vivid memories of that year, going to River Country, Magic Kingdom and Epcot! Those were the days!!😊 And of course Hoop De Doo Revue!

I lost my dad a year ago and have been in a such a rut mentally. Seeing you and the way you carry yourself gives me hope and inspires me so much. Casey, we just love you so much. You are the perfect match for Kyle. Our family too have so many great memories of Disney as my Grandma and Grandpa lived in Fort Lauderdale and took us to Disney on our summer vacations. We live in Wisconsin (Green Bay) and just love watching you two go to all the places that brought us such great joy. Casey, it was very sweet of you to share such a personal part of your story with us. Like you, Fort Wilderness was our families home resort. My grandparents would drive their RV to Florida from Michigan nearly every summer for 2 weeks to enjoy Disney. I was also fortunate enough to experience River Country. On the rare opportunity I get to visit Disney World these days, I look back with fond family memories and realize how much the parks and resorts have grown and evolved since its opening in 1971. Aw. I teared up for Casey, my husband lost his mom when he was in college. And while I can’t personally relate I see first hand how hard it is missing her but our love ones really live on through memories. Thank you for sharing Casey. Thank you Casey for sharing. I lost my mom when I was 20. Disneyland is a special place for me for similar reasons. We went as a family on 2004 and my mom passed in 2006. I didn’t get to go again until 2020 with my sister and later 2020 I lost my sister. Disney will forever be what ties my family together. ❤

I went to river country. It was fun. I was 12. I remember the slides and my brother being yelled at by my mom cause he was 10 and wanted to drive the water jets and he was not allowed and was throwing a fit

My most favorite childhood memory was going horseback riding with my dad and brother and then we went to River Country that afternoon. I LOVED River Country. I’m much older than Casey, but I have a love for Disney because when I was growing up we went there several times. I lost both of my parents by the time I was 35.
