Dressing. I accidentally figured out my mom's secret ingredient 20 years after she passed away. I only learned it because I accidentally bought cream of celery and cream of mushroom instead of 2 cans of cream of mushroom. I nearly cried when that remembered flavor hit my mouth.

I make my greens very similar but I cook them on low for hours because I want them to be very very tender and I mix my greens and add turnips. During the holidays I make huge pots and cook them overnight on low. I'm bad and I cook them with salt pork and smoked ham hocks. We also have a family creole potato salad recipe and gumbo recipe that bring people over for miles just to come and eat with us. Okay Housley's I wish we were neighbors I love to swap plates :O) I have a question why are you draining your pot liquor? I don't drain a thing my Grandmother would have cussed me good throwing out the pot liquor lol lol She would say "that's ya seasoning baby ya Flava! lol" But we all cook differently I'm sure their good but I'm just curious.
