Hey Jared I hope your keeping an eye on the cabinet around the water kettle. We noticed that the steam it produces has permanently fogged our solid black walnut wood cabinets. That being said. it probably will make quick work out of particle board or MDF cabinets. It's best to pull that Ketel away from the cabinets and let the steam vent to the larger open room. Also: instead of the ninja, we use a Magic Bullet! they take up very little space and are easy to clean up with if you fill the cup with soap and water and give it a spin and then rinse..

Great info. A few thoughts after 29 years of RVing… 1) Keep a light rubber band on the arm of the paper towel holder… when you have a breeze coming through the rig (our towel holder is right by the door) just pul the band over the roll the paper towels won’t blow or unroll. 2) Poster putty in the stationary dept is GREAT for every wall or counter item to stay stable during travel 3) Get curtain tension rods which are much cheaper than RV tension rods for your fridg or cabinets. Have a few extra for the shower when drying wet clothes. 4) water filter pitcher!!! It makes the best ice too 5) our first Corelle plates are still in use and I have a basket in the cabinet that allows me to stand the plates on end (I put a paper plate in between each plate) and the bowls sit flat with cups all together. At meal time I can just pull the basket out or easily grab a plate etc. 6). HAVE FUN!!!

When you have power, an Induction cooker is great for the RV. It doesn’t heat up the RV and it’s very fast. It also is low power since the temperature can be controlled so well from 140 to 400 deg F. Duxtop is only $50 something.

I don’t find the velcro strap on my paper towels too annoying. My little travel trailer “oven” however, is TOTALLY useless. We can’t get anything to cook right in it. The flame is right below the food so the bottom is burnt to a crisp, while the top is still raw, and we have a thermometer and the temp is way out of control. So it’s now storage for the pots and pans sadly. I’d like to swap it for a toaster oven but it’s built in with the stove! lol.

I make a lot of rice at home. But it doesn't have to take up space on your stovetop. Well, it does ... at first. I make mine by first bringing the water to a boil. If you're making a cup of rice (usually enough for my wife and me for a single meal), you want to boil slightly less than a cup of water, like 7/8 of a cup. Get it boiling real well, then toss in the rice and give it a stir. As soon as the water starts boiling again. remove the pan rom the heat and set it aside. It doesn't have to be on the stove. If you have a trivet that can protect your counter from the hot pan, you can set it anywhere. Then, ignore the pan and continue with the rest of the meal. By the time everything else is ready (or 5-10 minutes, if you prefer), the rice will be ready. We use the "minute rice" variety, available in brand names and many grocery chains carry their own house brand. It all works as good as any other. At my house, the rice comes out perfect every time. Now, I live at high altitude, between 7 and 8 thousand feet above sea level, so the amount of water or the time required may have to be adjusted elsewhere. But this method is simple and, once the water is boiling, frees up that burner to be used some other way.

Great Vid!! - For a blender I use a handheld immersion blender, it works for all kinds of stuff including smoothies, and is very compact. I carry a tabletop single element induction burner - I use it a lot outside for bacon and onions so as not to smell up the RV - It's VERY fast and controllable. I LOVE my icemaker! - I fill my super cooler with it - it paid for itself in the first year by not having to pay for park ice!

If you are having trouble with paper towels unrolling when you drive, try twisting large rubber bands onto the horizontal holder bar. I use #84 or 64 for their bulk until it is near 1/4 inch smaller than the towel tube. That helps on the road and when tearing off a sheet as it minimizes the freewheeling roll.
@UtahRoadbase
@UtahRoadbase 2 года назад
After seeing other RVers rave about that paper towel holder, I got one for our house. Within a month, it started to hang really low like it was going to fall apart. It never did fall apart and retained tension but it looked so pathetic, I replaced it. I use a little clothes pin in our RV for travel days - just clip the top towel with a few more layers behind it. The hands free tearing is a luxury we've had to give up.

I also have a convection toaster oven and I would be concerned were it in a cabinet like yours as mine gets very hot and I always pull it out from under the cabinet when I use it (not in an RV). Hi Jared, love your channel! Question about the RO, do you winterize it when it is cold? We would need to do that since we live in a colder climate

I find a wok is better than a fry pan with a splatter guard.

Love the splatter guard! My Class C doesn’t have an oven and I really missed baking. Omnia stovetop oven to the rescue! I’ve baked everything from brownies to lasagna in it and they all come out great! It works on any type of cooktop except for an induction stove. Compact and easy to store too!

Not cooking in aluminum. Any other metalic choices?

@@toddtetterton7133 I always use the silicon insert that fits perfectly inside the Omnia. The food doesn’t touch any metal at all

We have used an induction top and toaster oven for years and love them. When at full hook ups, we never need to use propane.

Adding mass to the oven through a pizza stone or pizza steel can help with baking. In an old rv that I stayed in for 6 months I added this and I was able to bake all sorts of breads and pastries after figuring out the temperature.

I like the paper towel holder idea. Do you have a picture that is close up or item description. Also, how is it mounted ?

Great video, thanks for sharing. I really like the idea of removing the microwave and replacing it with a toaster oven/air fryer. Something to think about for sure. You are 💯 correct about making smoothies. As soon as you turn on the Ninja the kids/partners come out of hiding. Lol
