This was the first Ferrari I loved and I love it more as years go by. I think it is the best mix between a muscle car, a Racing car and even a piece of art.
I've seen one in person in I want to say when we returned from Afghanistan at a concoursa in San Diego around 2002. It was from Texas. I got a sweet picture of me by her but THANKS TSA~ deleted it by running my camera OVER AND OVER~ til it corrupted the card. It was such a beautiful car I always wondered why the fame to the Testarossa then SKIP~ to the F40. I NEVER heard of the 288 GTO right away. My love for these cars made me study them after school in our humble local library. 5-6 years before the internet. When I saw the 288 GTO, right away, Next to the 330 P4, those two are ultimate to me. La Jolla, Ca. is a good place to see some treasures. My first Enzo encounter was there. And the #3 F40 ever made, so I was told, at Symbolic. Now I am into the Forward Look cars of the late 50's but Ferrari is still there in my heart ;) Even had the stallion tattooed on my left arm while visiting somewhere over seas once upon a time.
A slick video but as a car enthusiast, I would have preferred some in-car footage talking about the car, how it handles and the experience of driving it around those wonderful landscapes.

i probably love ferrari a little more than the average joe, one thing tho. it doesnt matter what model ferrari people are discussing someone always says "this is the most beautiful car or the most beautiful ferrari ever built." it doesnt matter if its a 250 gto an f40, a 308 or the laferrari. it gets old after awhile cant we just enjoy them for what they are instead of trying to place them on an untouchable pedestal

B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L, a dream to do such a thing. my mother-in-law is from Villa France. she a was young during WWII. came to the states, outside chicago, around 1957. my money says she wishes she would have stayed there in France
First car to take off looks like it needs valve seals;) That being said, I wish I was in the position to say "Fak, my 288 GTO needs valve seals" lol. Great video!

If i owned a 288 i wouldn't show up to this. Not a car guy there by the look of it but plenty of wine collectors and garden fanciers im sure. I so home im wrong.
If you haven’t already seen Ian Poulter’s collection of Ferrari’s then you’ve clearly not lived, Tom’s bought owned and sold some of the most important cars on the planet, many times over, now I’m not familiar with the others in this video, but you can sure as hell bet their not gardeners and wine collectors, anyone willing to take their 288 GTO cross country is 1000% a car enthusiast
