After 3 days exploring the Rees Valley, we decided to add on a side trip to explore Kea Basin. This involved staying at the Earnslaw Hut, which was our first basic hut experience here in New Zealand. Though the sleep wasn't quite as good as I hoped, the views and the awe-inspiring Kea Basin were totally worth it.
