It's "cheesy," but it is that good power metal "cheesieness." And you are correct Sue, it is a song that is about 10 years old now... from the band's 2013 self-titled and second studio album. Speaking of the band, they are a Finnish heavy/power metal group that was founded by Anton Kabanen, Juuso Soinio and Pyry Vikki back in 2005. Anton left the band in 2015 and helped form Beast in Black. Noora was not the original vocalist for Battle Beast. She replaced Nitte Valo in 2012. So far, the band has released 6 studio albums with their most recent, Circus of Doom, being released in 2022 back in January. If you are looking for a video with decent audio of a live performance in front of then, I recommend either LankaFest 2017 or Waken Open Air 2019. Beast in Black was founded after the guitarist, Anton Kabanen, was "kicked" out from Battle Beast. He is playing guitar in this video still. And he "found" Yannick from the RU-vid. BB is amazing live band and I have seen Noora many times in my home town Tampere at her local bar/pub or else where she just grabs the mike and starts banging out loud some Twisted Sister-"I wanna be somebody...." or blues/rock, what ever. This video was from their first album with Noora, about 10 years ago. She has an incredible clear delivery, and when she gets into the harsh mode, she reminds me a great deal of Doro Pesch from Warlock. Yes, the vid has an '80s cheesiness (intentionally) - their newer output is far more power metal oriented, and way more complex. My take on the (especially early) Battle Beast has been that this campiness of theirs was very much on purpose, they paid a bit of a tongue-in-cheek homage to the esthetics of the '80s heavy metal while putting maximal effort in doing that well. If caught live and cornered, they put up a formidable show. I'd recommend this live clip ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NdxuY_lb3S0.html ) filmed in Charlotte, NC from their tour as the opener for Sabaton. I hope you give this one a shot some day, as it gives the audience's point of view of them performing live on a comparatively small stage. You'll see her charisma in blaze here.
Great reaction again. They are _ofcourse_ from Finland :) I have browsed through live videos of Battle Beast but most of them are bad quality camera phone ones. And one wacken open air professional video i saw had bad quality sound. It sucks as i know Noora sounds live exactly like she sounds in this video and all the live ones muffle her highs. Noora is great singer but opinion when Anton left the band and formed a new one called Beast in Black. It's way better than current battle beast and Yannis is top of the top singers. Still respect the composer. ;)
You know, i am always thinking of good duett partners for Tommy, and I think she would make a fantastic duett partner. She can also go high if she wants to, and she wants to a lot. She has a very poweful voice. She has an underestimated voice and their music is really cool too. Maybe Tommy would think about that, or both. ;) I think they would fit great.
Btw, i dont know if you guys are only into that sorta music. While I started in the pandemic to fall into that great hole that is called Japanese music scene, which has so of the most incredible artists, i came also across quite a few awesome artists outside of Metal. Maybe, i dont know if you are into that sorta music.
