Our First Camping Trip Ever 

ANYONE that comes home alive from their first camping trip was successful!! Camping is the ULTIMATE "learn by doing" activity. You gain experience & knowledge & equipment every time you go. You finally get it down after about a half dozen trips. SALUTE!

I absolutely enjoy this video every second throughout 🙋‍♀️and got full happiness watching how close and warmth your family being together along the whole clip. The boy took his important role as a weather reporters, the girl shows all the happiest she could be, you & your wife shows how marvelous parents you're. What a beautiful family. I enjoy knowing my people of color are camping. My only suggestion would be to use a ground tarp underneath your tent and put your plastic tent mat in front of your tent. For heat can purchase a MR. Buddy heater, it runs off propane. I love primitive camping my husband and I use walkie-talkies just in case there's no phone service. Good Camping! 2 suggestions for next time. Warmer sleeping bags will make for happier campers. Store you food away from you tent and you'll be less likely to have visitors at night. Hope to see a 2nd camping adventure this year.

Oh my goodness…you all made me laugh so hard! I’m so proud of you all for being so brave and going primitive camping. I thought for first time campers…you all did an awesome job, but I was worried about just one thing! Never ever keep food in your tent! Most animals can sense any kind of food, including snacks. You got lucky this time (lol), but fear warning for your next camping trip…keep all food in your vehicle. Oh, and no phone or internet for you all…you had me in stitches!!!

I absolutely love this video. I come back to it every now and then when I need a smile. That is the one thing that I didn't think about, when it gets dark outside...it gets DARK. That took some getting used to, but camping is all about figuring it out as you go along. It's so relaxing.

I love it, there is a lot of thing you could of done to be more prepared but you had to get the first one under your belt. Spending time with your family and gaining new experience is priceless. Blessings!!!

I would recommend fleece blankets between the floor and any air mattress. Air mattress make you cold unless you have something to warm in-between. And usually you should have a sleeping bag that's rated for 20 degrees colder than the weather you're in. Air mattresses actually can deflate as the air cools, like car tires. So make sure to inflate right before bed.

This made me laugh, especially that bit when you all realized that there was no cell service and all of you started accusing each other of being the worst tech addict, haha! I saw one comment below about no food in a tent and I want to echo that. Keep all your food in your car, especially in places with bears. Same goes for toothpaste, soap, sometimes even cooking equipment. As for forgetting things - I remember one camping trip where I left without my pyjamas or a coat! Not smart. Always bring hoodies, fleece jackets, long pants and lots of socks! You can withstand a lot if your feet are warm and dry. Make a list each time you go and write down what you wish you brought. I have done this and my list is pretty much perfect now. For first-timers you did really well. I hope you went back to Lynx Lake, it looked beautiful. I also hope you kept camping, it is good to get away from it all sometimes.

Wow...it was true...Everybody went camping in 2020 because of Covid. Congrats on your first camping trip! For our first camping trip, we went to Rock Creek Lake. What we didn't know was that temp drops to 40 degrees at night. We all froze our buys off, but still had a great time (especially when the sun lit us up).

Not bad 1st time however on each camp trip always add something to accomandate your stay such as bathroom tent with toilet, a small generator, bring your own fire wood for at least 2 nights, and always change your clothes before bed you'll stay much warmer on cool nights, never go camping without jackets hoodies,heavy sweaters and have a good time

You did great for first time. It gets better. I do suggest that out in the wilderness, no food in or next to the tent. That invites unwanted critters, especially if you’re in bear country. Looks like you had a great time together as a family. Thanks for sharing!

Headlamps with red filter over it allow you to keep your eye sight in darkness (takes eyes longer to adjust to darkness after putting off a regular light). You can get glow in the dark cords that you can lay down to lead you to a toilet, food/water etc. from your tent in case you or your kids need to go at night.

Bad!!! Seatbelts!!!! Trying to save you a 250.00 fine each! Not to mention safety. Just call me mom! Hey every summer we used to go to Woods Canyon Lake. Beautiful!! It's north of Payson. Try it sometime! Also I think you have to book online to camp now for a fee.

I went to a Mexican store in Southern Illinois. We bought a blanket. It is the warmest blanket that we ever had in our life. I do not know what it is made of but, we are never cold with it.

We live tent camping. Well at least I do lollll. Keep up the quality time. With the family we do electric sites or places we can use a generator.

Looks like good family time was had by all. A+ Just a tip, don't leave food out or in your tent. Critters (aka racoons) will rip through the tent. Tie it up and hang it from a tree or keep it in your car. Also, where's the camp fire? Was there a fire ban due to dry weather? One of the best parts of camping is singing by the fire

Beautiful. Camping can get addictive. You are diving into the rabbit hole now. Nothing better than spending time with the little ones away from all the noise and distraction. Best part is leaning teamwork as a family and overcoming challenges and hardship. It took me my first family camping trip to realized what it was all about. Good or bad you come away learning something then you apply what you learn for the next adventure.

Congrats on your first camping trip. Love seeing us camping. My wife and I started camping in 2020 too, and we're taking our 5th trip this spring. We ran into your freezing at night problem our first time too, but we corrected it for our 2nd trip. Hopefully you do more camping, and pro tip, bring more water than you think you'll need, never want to be without water out there.

Just starting to watch. Any suggestions I make 2 years later won’t be new. We pack ski hats to wear in sleeping bags; lock food in car for safety; snuggle for warmth, take plenty of water and enjoy. From experience, we’ve learned that bad experiences make wonderful future campfire stories. I hope you’re still camping.

Nice first time. Talk to others around you who have done camping trips and compare tricks and strategies to make it more comfy and more fun. Bring an Uno game, or a trivia game, or board games, or books for the kids, or even outdoors game or sports. Learn a skill (yoyo, slack line, whistling, back flip, noises, faces.. etc) or anything to get slicker, smarter or more able in anything (always a way to level up no matter how dull). Adults can give yourselves more challenges like starting a camp fire or crafting a chair from wood, and the time after that with less and less equipment ! Do some sport with the whole family. Go for a hike, explore the surroundings ! Go fish or catch a fish and cook it ! Or try and find out what wildlife (animals and trees) are around you with a book of course (since no wifi) ! Or ask some questions to better know each other (music, colors, movies, what would you do if, who or what's your favorite etc) Anyways, tons of stuff to be done, gotta find the ifeas

Always make reservations. Did you have bear spray? And on Amazon get some battery powered lanterns for camping/ A must. And have a sleeping bag for all the kind that is for cold weather. And keep food all food in a container a bear cant smell it.
