My first Christmas married to my husband was 1986. (We got married in March like you two.) Last year was my first Christmas without him. He passed away a year and a half ago. We were married 35 years, 2 months, and one week. We met on New Year's Eve 1984. I pray you and Austin have many happy and healthy years together with an abundance of God's blessings! Merry Christmas to you two and Olive!!
Awe. You have a beautiful story! So romantic to meet on New Years Eve! I used to dream I would meet my soul mate on NYE one day, when I was a little girl watching the ball drop on TV. I'm very sorry that this year is going to be sad for you. Praying that God brings you peace.
My husband’s mom just gifted me all her ornaments this year, since she doesn’t put up a tree anymore. I was thrilled to receive all my husbands childhood ornaments to add to the mix of our children’s special ornaments, those sentimental items are worth more than any expensive decoration from a store. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄
Y’all have fun. Sounds like time well spent. Wish I still had some of our decorations & the Nativity Scene. Stuff we had growin’ up. Sentimental value is priceless. ✨💌
I gave our kids all the ornaments special to them from the trees we had in their childhood. Now they are the trees in their homes. I give all my grandkids a special dated ornament with their names each year.
I remember our first Christmas..1965...we were living in a tiny apartment that cost $50.00 a month furnished...my husband gave me a wristwatch.😊Now we are 76 and 78...with children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren...God has been good to us with all the things we've been through like most married couples our age. I enjoyed seeing your tree and decorations.😊
I remember my first Christmas with my wonderful wife. Very cozy. Fast forward 32 years and it is full of grandkids and all their cousins! Have a Merry Christmas!!!
Broke a shelf with too many books? Relatable! So sweet of your mom to come help. Such a heart-warming video, thanks! May God bless you all this Christmas!
How fun to share your first married Christmas together with all of us. Olive definitely has her opinion of how to decorate and there is such a special moment to spend the time with your mom. Enjoy your time with Austin's family. They surely love you as you seem to love them. As babies, we gave each boy (2) an ornament every year beginning with their first Christmas. Great idea but when they left home and took their packets of ornaments, we were left with only a few. Just a note: we always put the nativity ornament on one of the bottom branches so that in order to see it clearly, one must need to kneel.
Corri , a little tip my aunt taught me when I was first married, when you hang towels on your stove like Christmas and you don't plan on using them for anything but decoration ,take a small safety pin and pin underneath so they don't keep falling :)
Very sweet that your Mom came over to help you clean and decorate, be sure and reciprocate 😊 Your tree and your special ornaments with a history looks really great! ❄️🎄❄️
My wife and I saved all of the cards that we got on our first Christmas. The following year we up-cycled them by tracing and cutting out pretty scenes that would fit inside of Mason Jar lids. A little bit of hot glue and twine and we made cool ornaments that we still have and use all these years later. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Making memories, one holiday at a time. Like you, we inherited Christmas decorations from many people when we were first married. All of those loved ones are gone now. Fortunately, Cheryl labelled each ornament as they were given to us. Today, the labels allow us to remember the loved ones who gave us each of these special gifts. Knowing where these precious ornaments came from provides beautiful memories every time we decorate. You might consider that practice, Corie. BTW, Tipper is really good to have around. Next year, I may let her know when we're getting ready to put our tree up! ;)
Wow! You're on the ball today! I told your Mom, I hope she passed on to you all that I will be busy myself trying to get some things done for the holidays. So my comments/attention may be sporadic for a while. But I am enjoying your channel SO MUCH; and you are such a blessing -- to me and I am sure a lot of folks! I'll be in and out, and back soon!
I love this video. Seeing your mom helping you clean reminded me of my mom and me. I hardly did any thing without her help. She went to live with Jesus three years ago and I miss her so much but you brought back a very sweet memory. God bless
Thank you so much- you look so much like your daddy-my dad passed 8 years this April. The song was beautiful but the photo of your dad with family leaning against the car with his arms crossed reminded so much of my own dad when getting a picture taken.
I really enjoyed watching you and Austin decorate your tree. It was so special. You and Austin make a great couple. Both of you are so sweet. I'm from Alabama.
This video brought back memories of my wife and my first Christmas together. We went out and cut a cedar tree from my grandpa's farm. It was a time I will never forget. That was almost 41 years ago. I pray that you and Austin will have many years of joy together like we have. Merry Christmas.
Making memories is what it is all about... Yall can come help me!! Hahaha I miss my mom helping me. Have fun girls! So good to see you two decorating together. So pretty! Great job yall!!
I love how you recall where the ornaments came from. I do the same thing. One of my favorites is probably the cheapest looking one on the tree, but I made it during a special craft fair outing with my grandma when I was about 4 years old. I’m 53 new. I smile every year when I pull it out of the ornament tin and remember so many things from that day.
Wow, your first year married, and your tree is so nice and full of ornaments! It's beautiful! Your lovely arrangement in the green vase could be left our all winter for a little pop of cheery color. Blessings.🎄
I enjoyed watching you and Austin decorate your first Christmas tree as husband and wife. Thanks for sharing this special event. Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season!

Your tree was so lovely. I adore how each ornament has a special meaning to each of you. It truly is a tree of memories. I know I’m catching this well into the first of the year, but life has been crazy. Love y’all! 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I really enjoy watching your & your families videos. Brings me back to when I was a little girl. Watching you all decorating your mom & dad's tree & now you & Austin. 🎄💒
Oh, I was looking forward to seeing your tree put up, YAY! It looks so nice and the other decorations are so pretty too! Thanks for sharing with us Corie and Austin!!
I have enjoyed all your Christmas prep, you and your Momand now you and Austin decorating and telling memories! It's so sweet of you all to share. That is a beautiful tree!!! God bless you and yours❤🙏🙏❤
Thanks for sharing this very special time; it made MY Christmas more special! Everything was beautiful the first go round, including that gorgeous artificial tree. Live trees sometimes have live spiders that drop into your carpet. (Guess how I know.) After the additions, it was over the top. So many meaningful items, perfectly displayed. My other favorite things were Olive putting in her two cents worth, the final arrangement on top of the red heater, the rectangular dish with bottle brushes painted on it, and the Christmas afghan that looked like Granny's handiwork. Also have to tell Austin "Go Dawgs!" Maybe he's had some days recently like my son... decide between the deer stand or the tv. I have a UGA t-shirt that was my pup's; sure wish it was large enough to fit Olive. I pray that God will continue to bless your first Christmas season as a family, Corie, Austin and Olive. ♥️
Cory you and Austin enjoy your first Christmas in your new home!! It will be a Christmas you will never forget!! Your home is Beautiful!! May God Bless You and Your Precious Family ❤️ 🙏🏽 💕
You guys are such a cute couple. I love your taste in vintage looking Christmas decor. Check the thrift shops for vintage items, sometimes people will donate their older Christmas decorations instead of packing them away and a lot of people will pass them by because they’re ready to be done with the holidays.
Such pretty decorations! The tree is lovely! When we first put ours up I always loved to turn all the lights off and sit and look at the lights. So pretty! 🎄❤️🎄
Pretty tree, pretty decorations all around the house, pretty Mama helping. The first Christmas together as husband and wife is so special. Then there will be the first Christmas with babies (God willing) when the time comes. You both have so many memories to make together. God Bless you and keep you!
Corie and Austin, yall's tree is so, so beautiful, before you even put anything on it. I love how all the ornaments have a story. Great job decorating yall's tree! Have a beautiful blessed night. 🙏
Merry Christmas Corie & Austin!! God bless ya'll!! I love Katie, too! Merry Christmas!! I love my rock, my cd, and Bray loves the beautiful marble. Thank you so much!! I had already gotten your Cd, but I gave it to my Daughter for Bray. Now I have my own! Thanks from my heart! God's Speed Only!
Such a lovely and beautiful decorated home, and you and your sister singing the Christmas music. What a wonderful thing. Enjoy every moment that you guys have together as family during the holidays and I look forward to seeing more of your videos when they come out.
Everything looks so pretty, love your tree (particularly the pinecones). I think I remember y'all putting it up and taking it down; learned a great hack from Austin w/those zip-ties...that was slick when it came time to put 'er back up. Those stockings your MIL got you are beautiful. Love Olive, love your Austin, love all y'all. 🙌🏼💓🎄
Loved seeing you decorate the tree together. Your mom's help was appreciated I'm sure. Good that you could spend the weekend with Austin's parents and sister.
I have 2 deer heads in my living room and I put a big bow around their necks and Santa hat's on their heads. . I use a little quilt batting or tissue paper in the hats so the are not flat. Depends on the head and antlers . Looks like you have almost as much christmas "stuff" as me and I've been married 46 yrs. MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 🎄 🎁 💗
So a beautiful, relaxing video. Love how close you are to your parents. I'm 37 and still pick out trees and decorate with my parents to this day even though I am married and have children of my own. Family traditions are priceless. Was going to say "love the Georgia bottle. Go Dawgs!!" Then you mentioned that his parents live in Buford so it makes sense. I'm originally from Gwinnett, too, but have been living in Blue Ridge, GA since I was a little one. Love my Appalachias and you, your sister, and mom's channel. Merry Christmas and God bless.
Merry Christmas to you all! So happy I recently found your channel. I am sort of your neighbor over in SE Ky. Continued Blessings and Support. ~Love&Light♥️Carli

I want to share a tradition my wife and I have ..each year we pick a tree ornament to represent each yr. Sometimes we found decorations w that year sometimes just take a marker and wright the year on it. We know have 30 Differant ornaments .over the years . We have green leafy garland we put on a lamp pole and place the ornaments on it ...
Hi Corrie! My husband & I of 35 years ( God is so good!) Watch you & your families videos faithfully. I'm about to bust to share something with you! I have many memories of my dad & brothers deer hunting, etc When I was a little girl. We had a mounted deer like yours that hung on our wall. I was probably 9 or so when I started decorating him for Christmas. I hung ornaments on his horns and placed a small piece of red felt material on his nose. I used clear tape to hold it in place. He instantly was transformed into Rudolph!! I hope you enjoyed a little history about this, Jesus loving 64 year old memaw of 18 grandkids 💗 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
I love watching your mom and you follow in her footsteps with awesome videos. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful Christmas decorations with us. Merry Christmas to you and Austin 🎅 on your first year being married.
