Our first day in Jakarta was a success!
We had such an excellent time at the National Monument, we met so many friendly people and felt so welcomed to be back in Indonesia!
We got an excellent surprise there and got to see the Indonesian Navy Fair! There will be a separate video for that because it was excellent, with so many awesome vehicles and things to see.
Kota Tua was awesome, again, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and was a perfect end to our day.
We can't wait to continue exploring Jakarta and all it has to offer!

Just for information, Jakcard that you buy from national monument could be used for Transjakarta Bus, Commuterline Train, MRT Jakarta Train, LRT Jakarta & LRT Jabodebek Train, All Museum on Old Town City and also Ragunan Zoo.

27:02 she said "lima belas" which mean "fifteen", they usually get rid the "thousand" behind the sentence.. its supposed to be "lima belas ribu".. and you gave her 50 thousand rupiah at first, but she just casually rejected it, and keep being honest to the point she even gave you the change 😁 what a kind lady..

Yes! We have just came to realise that it gets shortened and they get rid of the “thousand” which is why it was confusing to us at first 😂 but we are slowly getting used to it 😁 She was so genuine and lovely, she definitely deserved the tip 🙏🏼 we appreciated her honesty and delicious food 😍🇮🇩

Vegetarian food : Gado2,Karedok,Pecel,Tempe and Tahu goreng,Nasi Padang(you can choose the food in display),Sayur Asem,Sayur Lodeh,Rujak (fruit plater with sweet sauce ),Aneka gorengan Pisang goreng,ubi goreng,bakwan(vegetable fritters)....or you can go to Warteg(Warung Tegal ) they have a lot of food selection with cheaper price.

Have good day for you two. Welcome to indonesia. For veggie you can eat: 1. Sayur Asem is vegetables soup. 2. Ketoprak is white noodles with peanut sauce. 3. Pete or Petai is stingky bean. Or you can eat "Jengkol" is stingky bean too but different look. They not too stingky sometime they fried it. 4. Pisang goreng is fried banana. Or you can eat "Pisang Coklat" is Chocolate Banana. Fried banana but inside is chocolate, that's like dissert but we eat anytime. 5. Martabak is indonesia's pancake. They have 2 version. First, Martabak Manis or Terang Bulan is Sweet Pancake with condence milk. Second, Martabak telur is Fried egg with dimsum skin. 6. Gudeg is young jackfruit for vegetables. Have nice trip you guys, sorry for my bad english.

welcome to Jakarta 😊 some suggestions : culinary : try Martabak, fishcake (pempek), Padang Restaurant, Chicken Satay, Fried Rice, and Seafood (can get experience buy the raw first and then go upstair where many vendors will cook it, location : Pasar Ikan Muara Angke / Muara Baru), J Co donuts. location : PIK (chinatown Pantai Indah Kapuk), malls (Central Park, Grand Indonesia). or nearby city such as Puncak (Bogor) and Bandung.

Senayan (Urban forest, convenient for walks, sports centers such as stadiums) 4. Sudirman Thamrin street (Monument Bundaran HI, if you go to Jakarta you must go there) 5. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (learn about all Indonesian culture) 6. Dufan (Carnival) 7. Ancol (Beach, many streetfood, cycling along the beach) 8. SCBD (Modern of Jakarta) 9. just watch the video cause I missed my city.. I was born and raised in Jakarta and been living in Sydney for 5years.. just trying to answer some of your question in the video, so the first one when you see they shut down the road in cbd is because every weekend there is an event call Jakarta car free day.. so there will be no vehicle allow on the street during certain time.. the Little car you saw when you're crossing the madness in station Kota is actually a public transportation called KANCIL ( in English mean DEER the animal) it just like tuk tuk in Thailand. and bakwan is vegetable fritter my favourite snack! if I may suggest, you can visit PIK 2 (PANTAI INDAH KAPUK) its a new entertainment spot with international standard in north Jakarta and its hype right now, in case you haven't been there. thanks for the videos, hope Indonesia treats you both well as I welcomed here in Sydney!

Hi Paul and Emmy, you could visit Bogor by train (KRL) and enjoy Kebun Raya Bogor (Botanical Garden). Also you guys could have some vegetarian street food which is not so famous as gado-gado, we call it "toge goreng". It was bean sprout with noodles, tofu, and tauco (fermented soy bean). Please try and enjoy it 😊

Please come to Blok M Square Mall in South Jakarta. There are tons of Street food vendor right at its entrance , especially at night! Afterwards, you can walk to M-Bloc, a hub for Jakartan creative hipsters; they have nice cafes and installations. You can take the MRT and go out at “Blok M”. Other places to visit for food and night life in South Jakarta: 1. Kemang area 2. Cipete area (MRT available) 3, Pondok Indah Mall (huge Mall at upscale residensial area)

By the way, Kemang area is also recommended if you are interested to see the entertainment hotspot for jakarta’s expatriate community, which i think is rarely featured in most Jakarta vlogs. (I’m a local indonesian btw) A mexican bar/Restaurant called Amigos is a classic example. Anyway, looking forward to your videos! :D
