I didn't wear ears all the time playing live shows. Lots of ringing and some loss at age 48 but it was worth it. Cymbals and snare without ears sounds so much better lol

⁠@@Reckless_MetalNo, it isn't. It doesn't even sound like Hetfield, even 40 years ago. It was one of the production assistants. There's actually a video floating around, I'll see if I can find the link. It's a podcast done by some metal guys up in Rochester, NY (where they recorded Kill 'Em All), and they did an interview with Kirk where they just talked all about those KEA days back in '83. Anyway, the guy that says "Bass solo, take 1" is one of the guys they talk to, and you can totally tell it's the same voice, even though he's like 60 something years old now. Like I said, I'll find the video and post the link here. It's a great video.
