Our first road trip from Rajkot | Visit to Somnath Temple | Roving Family
After settling in Rajkot we are starting our road trip with first visit to Somnath Mahadev.
Date of Journey: 09 July 2023 [Sunday]
Somnath is 200 Kms from Rajkot and it takes approx 4 hours of relaxed drive. During the drive we enjoyed monsoon views of Gujarat. After darshen we had Kathiyawadi lunch at Madhav Restauran. We started our return journey at 3 pm and reached home around 8 pm. While returning we encountered traffic jams at various places due to water logging.

I am Ravi, a teacher by profession. My wife Veena is a homemaker. We love traveling and have been doing road trips for the last 14 years.

It's very common to have lots of rain in Junagadh district up to Bhavnagar in Monsoon. I think due to heavy rain, heavy food outside is challenging for stomach

Your Family never got Sick in Delhi and North India, we eat fresh food and do not serve stale food to anyone. In Gujarat, I hope the standards are good enough. The vegetarian food is usually ok to sell the next day because nobody can tell the smell. Good that no-one died.

We are planning a road trip for dwarka and somnaath in October from Patna.. Please suggest best route and a night halt we want to cover maximum distance in day 1..According to google two routes are suggested one via Lucknow kanpur jhansi udaipur ahmedabad and another via lucknow agra ajmer palanpur.. So please suggest the best route..

Use jhansi kota udaipur route. If starting in the morning, after gopalgunj you can halt at Jhansi or max you can go till Kota. Remember on Jhansi kota highway you may not get any decent city or hotel for stay.

1,10,000 km Raat ko 2 se 5 so jata hu car me. Truck wale bhi insaan hai, carwalo se toh better drive karte hai. Gujarati nahi aati, samajhe ki koshish jaari hai.

@@RovingFamily thanks for your reply. Aap visiting faculty hain Kaun si faculty ke jab aap gaadi mein so jate ho toh raat ko gaadi kaun chalata hain. Aap ki gadi kafi chali. Kitne saal huye aapki gaadi ko Itna running ke baad gaadi ka koi free service bhi baki nahi raha hoga. Itni running ke baad company ka koi scheme bhi apply nahi hogi Toh pura maintenance bhi apko hi karna padta hoga.

@@GMChess-ht6fi I teach Physics for IIT-JEE Jab so jata hu tab car rest karti hai, I drive solo with family. Car ko 4 saal se upar ho gaye. It is out of warranty now. Service hamesa Hyundai me hoti hai, I keep the car well maintained. Spare parts, battery, tyres etc timely aur properly change hote rehte hai. 2 lakh km tak Car koi major problem nahi degi.

@@RovingFamily Aap se jankar Khushi hui ki Rajkot mein bhi IIT -jee ke liye coaching ki suvidha hain. Abhi tak main yeh samajta tha ki entrance exam ke liye Kota Jana padta hain. Aap ki long distance ki journey ko dekh kar Aram se karne ke liye kariban two (4) days ane Jane ka rahta hi hain. Aisi journey aap ek din mein complete karke service aur traveling ko balance karne koshish kar rahe ho aisa kyun mujhe lagta hain malum nahin. Aap ki himmat ko dad Deni padegi.

Eisha kyun mujhe lagta hain ki mera sawal thoda sa personal ho gaya hain jo nahin hona chahiye. Aap jis tarah se ek hi raftar mein road travel kar rahe ho aisa hum nahi karte hain. Hum raat ko nahin karte hain kyonki hum mante hai ki nidra pe kisi ka control nahin hain - hume nahin to dosre gaadi chalane wale ko bhi nidra aa sakti hain - aur night mein visibility bhi din jaisi nahin hothi hain. Hum toh din mein hi travel karte hain aur raat hone se pahle kahin break le lete hain Is liye hume tajub hua ki aap ko anhoniee ka darr hi nahi hain.

Sir, You have made a wrong decision by moving to Gujarat. Gujarat got its fame because its growth was good when Modiji was CM, but after that state is in a decline. The main problems with the state is that people are too much money minded and make friends only if they can gain anything from you, also as u mentioned food poisoning which is a common problem with most of the Gujarati restaurants as they don't throw away old food and just reserve it by warming it up next day which makes it poisonous. Also it won't be good for ur kids future because they will most probably get a job in metro city where culture is fast whereas culture of Gujarat is laid back and this is the reason Gujarat doesn't have service sector jobs like there are in Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Speaking as a person who has spent his whole life in Gujarat since childhood and also spent some time in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore so have observed this difference.

So colonial language ko apne itne andar tak kyun leke baithe ho? Gujarati peoples are money minded nd you didn't like that thing, because woh friend bhi bas isiliye bnate hain ki unhe koi benefit ho usee, right? in short selfish hote hain.
