If you’d like to dive deeper into our journey, we’d love to have you visit our blog www.tilfurthernotice.com/post/rvlife where Scott recounts our RV life through words and pictures! We appreciate you all so much!
Now I want a Spotted Cow. Best beer ever. We always stock up when in Wisconsin. I bet you too will have no problem at all fixing the camper with your mad artistic skills. Thanks for sharing.
Ouch and double ouch, I-70 looks really rough, and the damage to your front cap. Scott and Tammy, it was really cool meeting up with you guys, even though it was just for dinner and an evening of conversation. Shelley and I look forward to meeting up with you guys again sometime on the road and doing some adventuring together. Thank you so much for the shout-out and for sharing your adventures. You guys are great inspirations. Peace and Safe Travels
Hello from Texas,Tammy and Scott! We are honored to be in included in your latest video. Sorry to hear about the RV damage. A wise man once told me, “ it is OK to make mistakes, as long as one remembers and learns from them”. That is called experience! On the flip side, when one gets to old to remember, they call that the golden years!🤷♂️🤦♂️ Great video! Travel safe and keep them coming! Love y’all! Peggy and Wayne
Hi Wayne and Peggy! You have us laughing over here 😂. So funny! We are gathering lots of experience and a lot of fun stories to share in the meantime. Hope you are both doing great!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Just found your channel and went back and watched some of the older videos. Love your humor and the facial expressions. You do a great job filming and editing. Read about your rv problems and was amazed at how well you both handled them. It's nice to have a handyman around. My husband's motto is, "If the women don't find you handsome at least they find you handy". Know that you're not alone. We are in our 11th year fulltiming and as we were getting ready to leave yesterday our coach wouldn't start. We decided to just wait till Monday to worry about things so we headed out for a jeep ride. Wouldn't you know it, the check engine light came on. That goes to the shop tomorrow. So here we wait for the part to be overnighted. Hopefully we can leave Wednesday. I look forward to future videos. Keep having fun!
You just made our day Joan! Thank you for the kindness and was laughing so hard at the “if the woman don’t find you handsome at least find you handy “. 😂😂😂. He needs to put that on a short..better yet a book! Love it! So nice to connect!! I sure hope your problems get resolved quickly and you are back on your way! We will be sending you all the best wishes! 🤗
You guys are doing great for hauling a large rig. I've done body work on fiberglass in the past. This is an easy repair. Lite sanding to rough up area, small amount of Fiber glass repair, maybe 1 to 3 hours, very little bondo if you have a low spot. Prime and paint. You guys have enough talent to tackle this. Watch some RU-vid videos on small fiberglass repairs, it is easy.
Oh no!!! So sorry about the damage but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Scott, your painting is so beautiful!!! We're glad you were able to outrun those storms. If you're ever going to be that close to Michigan again, let us know because we'd love to buzz down there and meet up with you guys! ❤️
Always a blast watching you 2 in your travels. So sorry about the damage to the front of the rig. Not very fun when you are honey dipping. I hope you get the drift. Thanks for sharing.Tom from Houston Texas .
It's always fun tagging along with you! Sorry about the damage, what a bummer! Hoping the stars and universe align so our paths cross again someday soon. In the meantime, Happy Travels you two! ❤❤
Welcome to Ohio! I am west of Cleveland. I hope you were able to enjoy more than just our beautiful turnpike. I haven't been RV-ing myself, yet, but I love watching all the videos. I have enjoyed watching yours quite a bit. I look forward to seeing many more adventures (but no more ouchies)
HI Penny! We were overwhelmingly surprised by how much beautiful outdoor recreation space is in Ohio and would definitely love to come back to explore more! Adventures coming! thank you for watching!
Indiana I see hasn't changed in 4 years. We go around that state because of the bad roads. We had a friend go through the state then on to Alaska. When in Canada he discovered he had a bent axle. Had to be replaced. He was pretty sure it happened when he went through that state. In terms of water coming out your tanks drain pipe. We installed a shutoff valve on the end the drain pipe. It connects just like the hose. Most people don't have the problem of leaking or spinning but we have had that. Wrapped it with electrical tape until it was sealed on there and no leaks. Has been good for over two years now. That way you won't get it on you or try to catch it in your hose.
Thank you for sharing your stories Don and Kim! I’m not surprised about the axle! Appreciate the helpful tips on the valve too! Thank you for watching!
I saw you drive thru Wastella, TX! I farmed in the Snyder-Roscoe-Colorado City area many years ago. I certainly recognized the windmills and your painting subject!
Much easier to avoid weather when you're mobile!! 🌪 Glad it was a minor damage!! 🤗 Awesome that you are getting to meet your friends!! 😍 It is amazing how a road can be nice and smooth one minute and turn into a wash board the next and visa versa! 🤦♀️
Loved this week's video! You were actually SOOO close to us...we are about forty miles from the town you passed up...the one with the world's largest rocking chair, Casey, Illinois! Tell Scott you should have stopped. It is a cute little town, known for the largest rocking chair, the largest windchimes (that are really cool and just outside a cute little coffee shop). There are a whole bunch of other things to see...largest pencil, ruler, birdcage and even a huge mailbox that you climb up stairs to get into it and have a great view of downtown. We spent a day checking everything out. They have a great candy store too! Next time you are in the area, you should stop!!! We were so excited to see you passing through our area, even if only on your video!
Hi Terri! Ok, now I’m super bummed we didn’t stop! Next time Scott is pulling over 😂😉. Thank you for watching and letting us know about all of the great things!!
Too bad you didn't get to spend more time in Dodge City, so much fascinating history there. We parked at Boot Hill Casino parking lot. We left with more money then when we arrived lol.
Hi Jim! Oh, we’ve spent time in the past there as Scott’s dad was born there and found some awesome history! Sounds like I should have tried out a slot machine! Take care and thank you for watching!
Are you two members of Harvest Host? We love the stops we have made through them. One nighters and always something unique with each one. We also love state parks but we have gotten stuck in several of them. They can definitely be tight!!
Don't let a little thing like your dent put a damper on your adventures. You've just joined the boo boo fan club. Scott put a band-aid on it and all will heal in time. Keep the adventures coming, enjoying each and every one.
Sorry about your damage to the 5th wheel! Glad it wasn’t too bad! Glad you beat those nasty storms!! Would love to hang out with y’all if you are ever in NC! But we do camp once a year in SC at the beach! Happy Camping and safe travels! ❤️❤️
A very enjoyable video to watch and what better way to shake off the slings and arrows of doing something stupid than a complete stranger with two good craft beers!
See you got your class A and your class B stupid things Class B stupid things are looking in your side mirror and seeing that coffee cup you are looking for sitting on the side of the pickup bed I can smile over those, the class A stupid things are when you go wow! That's going to be expensive!
I noticed you have been experiencing rotten egg smell from hot water heater. I had a problem with that years ago. It turned out to be someone had used galvanized fittings instead of brass, copper, or plastic. The galvanized ones after they started braking down affected the water with a bad smell. Check to see if there are any galvanized fittings near the hot water heater.
I-70 through Indiana has got to be some of the roughest road I've driven with our 5th wheel...unreal. That and the constant construction zones...oh my. Btw, Fudge Cheese is awesome, although you can't a whole lot, too sweet! love your videos!!
Noticed Craig and Sherry were wearing "Summer To Remember '22" from Keep Your Daydream (KYD)...I just love seeing YT creators cross-pollinated each other's channels!
I wouldn't leave it too long to get that damage repaired, you don't want moisture getting into the fiberglass, that'll just make the repair much bigger.
Glad y’all got the hell outta Dodge before the storm came. 🤣🤣🤣 Sorry about your boo boo, but it could of been worse. Look for a repair shop that has full timer spots where they let you stay in the rig and give you water and electricity while they repair it. I found an RV repair shop in Chino, CA that does this. McBrides RV Repair. Great people.
YUP! Our first season with our fifth wheel we did the same thing. Hit the tool box on the back of the truck. Same spot as yours. After three years having this fifth wheel we accidentally left the tail gate down and left a hefty gash in the front cargo door. Thankfully we were able to get a new one.
I’m so sorry but kind of relieved we aren’t alone in making the mistake 😬. I’m sure it won’t be the last time we ding her. Appreciate you sharing your story! Means more than you know!
Oh no! So sorry that happened to y'all! Matthew kept saying, tell us how you damaged it, he was stressing, LOL 😂He was trying to figure it out, LOL 😂Were y'all able to get out of the space without the fuel tank hitting the front cap again? We have actually made cheese fudge with Velveeta cheese! 😱 It turned out really good too! We want to meet Chuck and Cherie too! So sorry y'all did not get to meet up with them!~ Shion and Matthew
My one road hazard blow out came on Indiana I-70. Had a pothole as big as 1968 VW. 🙂 This was about 8 years ago. See they have not gotten around to fixing the issue on the interstate. I have infrared unit as well. I was checking my hubs by touch. Nice tip. Too bad about the fiber ding. I have a $17 secondary valve on the end. Had the little dutch boy momemnt with a black tank leaking valve. ugh.
Wow Norman! Things definitely haven’t improved since then. Yikes! I was worried the entire duration about our suspension! Thank you for sharing your story and the tips!
I feel lucky if I have a problem that I can throw $ at to make it go away. Driving a fifth wheel you must always have to think about what might be coming next. Enjoy your adventures!!
IF I had a rv it would be the size or a little bigger than chuck and Shari's , actually a class b van would be ideal. Chocolate cheese fudge sounds awesome 😋
Nooooo! Sorry about your damage. 😔 We just clipped the drivers side rear at the last campground. Not big rig friendly as well report in our campground review on this!
Oh No! This site was supposed to be 60 plus feet long and adequate for our rig according to their website, so I guess I better always double check! Sorry you got dinged up as well...adventure wounds?! Travel safe!
Haha my parents first date was to go see the movie the jerk. Loved the reference! I have never tried cheese fudge- sounds a it scary 🤣. We usually don’t stop for the worlds largest anything either. But, I bet it would be kind of fun. We are all about that duck tape! Haha we have picked some cheap campgrounds and some for sure haven’t been the best 🤣. It sounds like you learned a lot though! And met some great people along the way. We always learn from you two! ❤️
Well now I know your parents are awesome 😉 I was scared of the cheese fudge but it was just like fudge lol. Duct tape is a must have for life! Always learning and meeting the best folks along the way! Hope we can meet your family one of these days 🤗
At a campground with 90 degree to the road sites I watched a 5th wheeler blow out the back window of his tow truck with the front corner of his 5th wheel trying to get that thing in the site. Sounded like a gunshot! Trying to back my relatively short class A into a 90 degree has been nightmarish the few times attempted. I look at campgrounds on Google Earth now and if sites look 90 degree I move on and look for a different landing spot.
That is why we have a 20' tongue RV trailer. It has all the amenities we need but is light and nimble enough to get into most sites. We can enjoy and experience so many places the larger rigs can't use.
Sorry I'm back noticed you mentioned a aux fuel tank. My son told me if you have a combined volume of fuel over 100 gallons (truck and aux tank combined volume) you need a fuel placard on your vehicle. Not sure how much fuel you carry. Might want to check into it if you carry over 100 gallons.
Fast "bee line" through Illinois just like everyone! OBTW - You missed us (Decatur) by about 60 miles when going through Illinois. Did you wave? Well the crunch sucks. We have seen a couple others that did the same damage as you, or came close.
Hi guys! We were actually commenting on how pretty the rolling hills and farm lands were as we traveled through! I'm afraid dings and dents are just part of the journey! Thanks for stopping by! 👋
Very sorry you got a cavity in your RV. Doing fiberglass DIY repair is not very hard at all and very few tools required. RU-vid can help with that. Maybe you can at least enough to keep the RV enemy out. You guys seem to be in a big hurry. Enjoy your journey! Kevin
It happens 😞 we put a hole in the back of our Grand design 5th wheel when we had it. Our son and daughter in-law put a hole in the side of their brand-new 2nd time using it. I always say it's not will it happen it's when will it happen 😕
They sure were! No we don’t have that card. Normally, we just fill up when we are camped since we have an auxiliary fuel tank and find better prices that way but might have to check into that! Thank you for watching!
@@TilFurtherNotice great savings using the TSD card, you will not pay the posted price at the pump. It's a great program for RVers. Lots of videos out there. Check out Changing Lanes they have a good one on it
Yeah, know all about damage from a trailer. Backing my truck with the tailgate down, musta backed wrong and damaged my the top of my new aluminum tailgate.
I was watching a channel that may help with your odor from your sinks. The channel is Paving New Paths Titled: What Hasn't Broken and the spot fir you to see is 10 minutes in! Hope it helps. Deb from Hooking Up With The Hurley's
Just did the same thing after 3 years backing in my driveway and nothing has changed. i may have dipped the trailer into the ditch slope a little to much and hit my generator that sits there all year.
I know how you feel on the damage I hit my house with my trailer the mine was in the house and I thought I could get it out by myself but nope hit the eve of the roof of the house on the trailer cracked my Awning and the drip edge so I wait for the wife to watch good luck
Yikes Brian! That sounds like a big ouch! Never a good feeling but let’s hope we both have less “adventure wounds” as we go 😉 thank you for sharing your story so we feel less alone!
We may need to look into that! We normally just fuel up after we are unhitched at smaller less expensive stations but I’m hearing there are good savings to be had with this. Thank you!
Sorry for your new RV getting damaged. We sanitize our RV water system with bleach, you might try that instead of the hydrogen peroxide plus leave it in for a few hours.
...you two seem more than capable to successfully do a little fibreglass diy. I detest KOAs, all I have seen are cold and overpriced concrete sites...I shouldnt blanket them all in one category since I am sure some great ones exist (still overpriced, lol). So now that you added some character to your rig, you can relax and go live, lol...duct tape, just attach and silicone a light in that area!
Lousy it happened, but not too bad of a repair. Do seal it from the weather. Don't waste your time and money with hydrogen peroxide. The concentration available to you is too low! Those little bottles of 3% aren't going to help. A gallon of 30-35% food grade, absolutely. All that sediment that spewed on you last video, it is magnesium laiden. You need to flush your water heater with a wand. Then do a vinegar soak, at least half the volume of tank with white vinegar. Let is sit at least overnight. Then flush out all the minerals it loosens, flush tank thoroughly with fresh water, reinstall aluminum-zinc anode, and you should be good.
