The Vstrom 1050xt has hill hold control. That means that the bike recognizes when you are on a hill and brakes so the bike won't roll backwards. To deactivate it you have to press two times quickly the front brake with the moto running. And please the next time when you want to maneuver the bike always have it running and with gear so if something goes wrong you can control the bike. Wishes and good luck!!!
We have been following you guys for most of your journey around the world to when you competed your journey, somehow we missed your early days, you guys are an inspiration to 2 up riders and what they can do and how far you can travel. Looking forward to catching up on your early days.
This is why I'm watching you guys! You're not expert motorcycle tour people. You're just like the rest of us and I love it! Living, laughing and learning as you go. That's how we all started. Enjoy the experience both good and bad, that's why they call it an adventure.
It'll be interesting to see how things develop. 1. How your vlogging devlops 2. How your editing devlops 3. How your breaks and stops develop 4. How your riding confidence develops. Good Luck.
I would recommend you don't keep pushing the indicator button so many times when riding as you could wear it out pretty quick. Really looking forward to following your progress. Good luck guys.
For future reference there's a Byway that runs at 90° to the A303 that allows you to get much closer to the 'Giants Playground' without having to pay the tourist admission fees. 💰😀
Don't feel bad having Lavi 'tow' you out. Also I park up each night to make the exit easy in the morning whenever possible. One thing, please, you ride a bike. You never drive it 😁
Hey guys! If you should be passing through Germany, I’d be happy to ride along and help you with accommodation around the middle of Germany (one of the most beautiful places to motorbike ;) )! You guys are an inspiration! Keep riding safely!
A great start to your adventure. I love your positive attitude towards everything. Enjoy your journey, I look forward to following every step of your travels.
Amazing Videos , Great Effort , Hope you are enjoying making memories together . Bike looks well , and I hope every mile is easier than the previous ones . Safe Travels , and thank you for documenting it for us :-)
Nice update video guys. Had i known you were travelling on my local roads I would have shouted you lunch....it will have to be on the return leg now 😇. Ride safe and looking forward to following your adventure ✌🇬🇧
Yeah the traffic can be terrible near Stonehenge, well the 303 often slow going esp in Summer. Would def freak me out that no movement thingy...glad you sorted it👍 P.s Although might be good in some scenarios.
Yeah we knew exactly where the good view would be by seeing the queue 🤪 Yes we didn’t know about this hill hold feature but it’s only there to help us so we can’t be mad 😁
Great Vid guys, looking forward to following the rest of the journey. Just told my kids that giants made Stonehenge, for the giant kids to play with, that’s gonna be an Interesting convo with their teachers. 😂
Loving this - good luck and stay safe out there. (btw - did you get your lunch at multiple Tesco's - lol that weird English thing - it's not ASDAS, or WAITROSES but for some reason Tesco is Tescos lol) English man in New York - hope you hit the Adirondacks in upstate New York, happy to bunk you for a night.
hahah I know what you mean Brett! I've just been calling it that for as long as I can remember, who knows why! Thanks for the offer we're not sure how far east in the US we are going yet (will depend how long it takes us to get there) but we will let you know if we end up coming that way 😁
Another awesome episode! Looking forward to the next one :) that pesky tech with hill hold hey if ya never make a mistake you never make anything :) Vstrom ftw! keep up the brilliant work an looking forward to the next video.
@@LaviandOllie np! You will love that on the long days once you get used to the sensation stops the wrist cramp I had a bad break on my throttle wrist n its the one thing my 650xt is missing I did a 600 mile day the other week an it was the one thing I missed from the gsa I had. Yet I'm still looking at a 300 rally haha! All got there pros n cons :) can't beat the Stroms for comfort though that's sure awesome bikes!
I hope that now, 2 weeks later, that you've gotten used to turning the heavy beast around in steep driveways. It's something I used to find daunting, but after 11 years of V-Strom ownership, it is easy. Are you going to post the paper maps home once you've done them and traced your route on them? I'd hate to see how bulky they'll all get in your panniers! HaHa! Gorgeous little villages and great countryside! I'm hoping to get over there and explore the UK by bike next year. I visited Stonehenge back in 1998. Great to briefly see it again. I remember being surprised that a major road was so close to it as in my mind growing up, I thought it was in some remote location! I'm pleased to see that you guys are vegetarians and keen to see how you get on in various countries. I've been a veggie myself for 12 years or so now. 🙂
Yes we are getting more used to handling the weight of this bike and doing manoeuvres, but we still have more learning to do! As for the maps we will be posting the English, French and Spanish ones home before we leave Spain and then hopefully getting a one that covers all of North Africa for the next leg! That’s awesome to hear that you have been veggie for so long good on you! I hope we will be able to keep it up without too many problems as we continue to travel further 😁🤞
@@LaviandOllie Definitely keep up the map thing. I traced my exact journey on maps at the time on a road trip across the USA back in 1998 and I still like to get the map book out every now and then to see exactly where I went. I'd have no idea now if not for that book. My ex and I used to have an online vegan store so I was vegan for a while, but found it hard to maintain on bike trips through rural Australia so I started eating a bit of dairy and eggs again to make it easier to eat on the road. When I was travelling in Vietnam I found Google translate to be helpful in making sure I got Vegetarian food. You guys have travel experience so I reckon you'll be fine! 😁
As a European, every 3 minutes or so I'm like OH MY GOD THEY'RE DRIVING ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD ARE THEY INSANE?!?!? and then oh right they're still in the UK 😂
