I wish you guys went to the south south because as you may have noticed, golem & durres are basically where the local Albanians vacation (in that the beaches are not the prettiest - they're dark - and food / accommodation i just a lot cheaper than the south). It doesn't reflect the "Albanian riviera" at all. If you go to Dhermi, the views are unreal ahha. Most foreign tourists go to Ksamil too. I feel like most tourists who stay in durres for more than 24 hours complain so im surprised you guys liked it. You would love the rest of Albania if you think durres is good...
We knew what we was getting with durres, and we were very happy to just stay there for the two days we had. When we visit for a longer period, of course we will go to the prettier beaches. 😊

@Ash-ov5lx .. if you decide to go to Durres.. go to beach Shen Pjeter(Saint Peter) or Gjiiri I Lalzit.. it is way better than other beach near Durres.. and if you decide for better than head to south Albania.. 🍻
Albania is definitely beautiful indeed, and it looks like you just scratched the surface in Tirana & Durrës. When you go back, plan more time and do visit the Albanian Alps in Northern Albania (including places like Theth and Lumi i Shalës (i.e., River of Shala)) and the picturesque landscape and blue waters of the south (in Vlora & Saranda). You won't be disappointed.

Every year I use the port of Durres to get to Kosovo from Switzerland and it has never looked SO GOOD in my eyes. You are doing something very right 😅 You have to see the south of Albania though.
Albania is a very beautiful country, with mountain and coastal tourism, but the most important thing that impressed me are the good, hospitable people, with culture and a big heart. I suggest you to visit the south of Albania. It's a dream!
You already got the answer to why the street was empty, because everyone was at the beach ⛱️ 😊 Then later after 8pm starts the outing for families until 1am .
Can't believe that lookout by the lake. The top looked SOOO dodgy! HELL NAH LOL! Albania looked like a fun trip. Is this a short holiday or are you heading to the next country from here? Pumped to see all those countries!
Durres is like the comfort beach of Tirana , not necessarely the best, but its more comfortable since its very close, and a lot of ppl from Albania won a 2nd house there and stuff like that. Durres is a very old historical city, dating back to ancient times ,but its beauty was destroyed after communism and ppl building with no plan. Anyway its a great beach city and good vibe for a beach town

I loved your video, and to clear something out in Durresi, it is not Roman buildings but Illyrians, the king was called Agron and the Queen Teuta. Thanks for sharing the video
@RyanandSaz-TravelLife do not worry but Albanian history is amazing. Illyrians were the ruler of Europe. Albanian language is one of the oldest in Europe. If you're looking for something different for your vacation..Albania is the perfect place to visit. It will be an unforgettable experience .. completely different from what you have seen before.. I strongly recommend the villages also.. It will feel like travelling back in time.
I think you guys have followed a wrong road to go to Bovilla lake. There is a much shorter and quicker one from Tirana, the one that takes you straight to the dam. Yep, you got it. I can't believe the road is still so bad. Been there once years ago and the road has not been improved at all. Anyway, glad you enjoyed Albania and thanks for the video.

The beaches of North Albania like Velipoja, Shengjini, Rana e Hedhun are way better beaches than Durres and let alone the Albanian Riviera that starts from Vlora to the border with Greece. Those waters are crystal clear as mainly they are pebble beaches.
Fun fact: Albania has been Orthodox, Catholic, Sunni Muslim, Atheist then Sunni Muslim again. As of 2024 Muslims are no longer the majority population, dropped to 45% for the first time in a century. While Christianity is reviving. Kosovo is also experiencing a decline in the Muslim population and revival of Christianity. Bosnia-Herzegovina is around 50-50% Muslims and Christian.
Hey man. We only had a short amount of time, so wanted to go somewhere close to Tirana. The idea was to relax in the sun. Next time we will go to the south 🙌
Well…. At least it was interesting to be the only people at that part of the country 😂🤦♂️ was still very enjoyable. Just have to double check the map next time haha
I know that there are bus routes but unsure of exacts. I’m sure you could look online for bus routes. We rented a car, and yes you can rent motorcycles also.
I was wondering how you said it wasn’t popular when beach is overcrowded where you went? In the end you said nobody was at beach? I didn’t see that? Another RU-vidr video (where they stayed a whole month on strick budget) said saw trash everywhere, but they walked the streets rather than driving.
The beach in durres was very popular with local residents. Where we went, there were hundreds of empty sun lounges. I also meant Albania isn’t popular with British people yet. You can see from the streets of durres, there wasn’t any rubbish on the floor at all, very clean. Some places no doubt won’t be like that, but we can only comment on what we seen.
