FANTASTIC!!! Delos has been my fave sailing channel for years but you guys are going to give them a real run for the money. Something about watching from the very beginning combined with your awesome dive skills and such an huge boat with the capacity for such a large crew... AWESOME potential! Remember... Don't loose yourself in creating a documentary. Keep it about the people and the story... Fair winds to you.... Be safe.

Alittle Fuel in the oil isnt a huge deal on a older diesel engine. Diesel is also a lubricant. Just make sure to do reroute oil changes and send in samples once a year or so. Usually unburnt fuel gets in oil when starting a cold engine that's been at rest for awhile. I'm a diesel mechanic if you guys ever have any questions.

Only recently discovered this channel. Am thinking that I need to be braver with my life choices.

Crazy cool boat with her own idiosyncrasies; the mast, wash down life lines, HUGE pilot house, HUGE swim deck, and an atypical but practically placed head/shower.

note on engine repairs/disassembly of anything complicated: always make a map of what screw goes where when you take something apart, you could either use a piece of cardboard and literally draw a full scale map or make measurements and a drawing on paper

Getting that cool sailboat, for me, is the best thing for your channel. Really nice diving videos with all the colorful fish, especially at night.

Having that wheel house is going to be the best thing ever during storms, what an amazing boat! And getting to adventure around and dive is to die for. Amazing guys, wish you all the luck!

You guys have found a great boat that will be able to take you anywhere, I know it is exciting & you will want to enjoy her as much as possible. The 1 thing I would suggest, as she is large, steel & you 2 are just getting going, is to preventative maintenence plan soon. This will prevent a lot of headaches in the future & also get you around the boat helping you to learn more about her faster. You dont have to be superyacht detailed but cover the basics. 1 essential book you should have on board is by Nigel Calder. The boat owners Mechanical & Electrical manual. This should start you off. Enjoy.

If you get the chance just outside Whangarei there’s is one of the most unique hidden gems, don’t let the name fool you tho The Packard Museum. It’s a hands on tour filling in at least half day if your into machines, engines, cars, trucks, motorcycles like you have never seen, and much more my words can not do it justice. This from a bloke who thought maybe an hour would be too long to bear 😉 anyhow would make for an interesting side video for sure....even has an ex-presidential limo there! In the future when you fix the engine you have to have a shot of it actually starting after the job is done this is a very important shot for the videos and gives many of us a lot of joy.

Your narration is so descriptive in parts, I could close my eyes and imagine the scene. Would you consider a podcast describing dive scenes for low bandwidth or sight impairment? It was another pleasure to watch, for sure.

I liked the night dive, that was cool!

Just tripped over this. Fun to see someone elses comments about places I like to go. Was in Deep Water Cove with friends just a few weeks back. Have been past your new boat in the BOI several times I think. Sort of stands out amongst the moorings with the lattice masts and size. Will be cruising to Great Barrier this weekend for a fishing expedition, but assume you aren't probably there yet. Will Keep an eye open just in case. Good luck with your adventure. Great weather window for the next week or so, but maybe a bit light on wind for you guys.

Awesome video! Love the difference between low tech and high tech gear with sylvan old school gear.

I have used a floating compressor for shallow dives 30’ and less like cleaning the boat bottom. It is a weekly part of life on a boat.

This was a great episode. I am glad the haul out and inspection went smoothly and there were no major show stoppers in acquiring Syflia. I am assuming the purchase is complete since you are investing in outboards and washing machines and referring to her as our boat. I thought there would be a little more celebration about completing the purchase. Your underwater segments are exceptional. Just floating an idea here but it would be educational for me if you were to insert a text box on the lower right to identify the coral and fish that are featured if you know the names. For instance at 15:16 the kelp has some interesting pink corals centered in the shot. Just a quick display of what we are looking at would help. It would not have to be for everything because it may be distracting for some views but for things you are focusing on I think it may work. Keep up the great work!!! And thank you for the time you are investing in your new channel.

Hi Miss Jordan, Love watching your adventures you've just started. Great underwater videography, you guys are killing it. I would suggest having more than one head onboard, ( could you imagine everyone reliving themselves over the rails in an emergency--not very pretty Ha ha.) I would just try having a few people onboard at first to see how everything works out, before you guys really start to have big crews. One thing I would do is paint those erector set mast white. You may also want to consider all Marine Laminate decking inboard-like what the AMELS use there yachts (there functional too!) it would add a lot of beauty and class to your sailing ride. There is a reason why ships are painted white, esp. in the tropic, and that is to keep the heat down-other colors absorb heat, so you eventually want to paint the hull white. This yacht has so much potential, after all-it's your new home right? I loved your presence on Sailing SV-Delos, you have a beautiful smile and positivity on life, your outlook is infectious. I don't know if you guys know this but a Gardner diesel is like the top of the top the cream of the cream when it comes to marine diesels. Lucky guys. Fishermen in BC drool over Gardners. A very simple slow rev quiet incredible motor.
