These paper thin roll dessert is very famous dessert of Andhra Pradesh known as "Pootha rekhulu", basically translated to paper crepes. It's very fascinating how these are made A very thin crepe like thing is made with rice batter. An earthen pot turned upside down is placed on fire and the thin batter is applied on the pot with a cloth dipped in the batter. Locally if you get to try these in Andhra Pradesh, you might get to taste different varieties in this dessert with stuffing of ghee, dry fruits,jaggery etc. The freshly made ones are just little bundles of goodness that melts in your mouth. Hope you get to try some one day, and I think you guys might love kerela based curries/gravies as they are popularly known for coconut based fish/shrimp dishes and have a tangy twist to them. Keep exploring, as always lovely videos.

mirch / mirchi = chilli. the one you ate is hari mirchi = green chilli [ hari means green ] tikka is always boneless. be it fish or mutton or chicken. besides chicken samosa, minced mutton samosas are also available here. crabs, prawns and shrimps are abundantly available in southern india as it has water on both sides. for Pootharekulu, u need Pootharekulu Sheets which are not easily available everywhere. The restaurant must have imported them from india. indian cuisine is very diverse as it changes from state to state. Every state has a different style of cooking food and the dishes are unique to their state. Even the oil is different. Mustard oil is used in the north of India, groundnut oil in the west and coconut oil in the south.

Mango curries are mostly west coastal cuisines here in India. You will definitely find a lot of vegetarians cooking their lentils and coconut based curries with ripe and raw mangoes in them. This is because these people grow their own fruit and vegetables in their own gardens. So they just pluck fresh ones everyday and make all sorts of sweet and savory dishes with mangoes. You will be amazed at what these people can cook with just a couple of mangoes or any fruit for the matter.

This is mango season in India right now. There are over a thousand varieties of mango. Some are for eating out of hand, some are for juicing (it's best to squeeze and roll those mangoes until everything but the seed turns liquid inside the leathery skin. Then, you puncture the skin with one of your canine teeth and suck out all the juice). There are mangoes that are for cooking, mangoes for pickling, etc. Even in Miami it must be tough to find all of the proper varieties at their required levels of ripeness or green-ness for dishes. But, often substitution leads to positive surprises, so there's that. :)

You guys really know how to appreciate the spread 🍜 your genuiness shines through🌟a suggestion for when you finally get to visit india. Please do travel across the various states, some of them are less explored but have much to offer. You might like to plan a longish trip therefore 😎

ok I totally understand of you taking break in between because of spicy taste but hope in second round it still warm especially NAAN. Naan is always supposed to be eaten warm/hot because if it cools down then it might be too chewy for sure. But I like your reaction alot because you both eat food totally till plates gone empty like my style. stay safe and Happy.
@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia
@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia 3 года назад
In this case, these were to go containers, so we just closed the lid on the curries. The naan got to our table 2 minutes before we shot part 2!!

Try a normal/basic lasso for a change. In India mango lasso is a rarity. The other thing is spike up your spice scales if you plan to come to India. Butter chicken samosa. Lol.
