Just so you know guys, Karel Gott was the biggest musical icon of the Czech Republic. A famous, yet very humble and kind person. In this song, he says goodbye to his daughter, he died of acute leukemia less than a year later, he knew he was dying. The lyrics are very powerful and this song always makes me cry. What a pity that google translator can't translate it so that you understand the true meaning and the emotion. You would appreciate it even more, masterpiece. I think it's the saddest song I know, and even though it's beautiful, I don't feel joy, but a lot of sadness.

This song has very sad background too. The songwriter is the guitarist of the accompanying band and Karel Gott and him had some sort of rift for few years. Then suddenly Karel Gott and his wife contacted him they need him to write a song for him. Richard (the song writer) is rather famous for very realistic views on life in his song lyrics and clean but powerful music without it being overpowering. When they told him they want him to write a song for Karel and Charlotte, they also explained to him that it needs to be written very fast because Karel is slipping away and doesn't have much time left. It was very hard for Charlotte to sing this song because it was basically her father saying goodbye to her. This was also meant to be his last song he ever recorded. Richard started working on it February 2019, then in May 2019 it was released on RU-vid and Karel Gott died 5 months later in October 2019

Pozdravujeme do hudobného neba🙏🌠🌹❤

Objímám s láskou do nebe - 4. 7. 2022.

It has been said here many times...but Karel Gott was our czechoslovakian "elvis presley" and this song is absolutely genious!! I have goosebumps every single time I hear it...Richard Krajco who composed this did unbelievable job but of course, message of dying father saying bye to her daughter for real and not only pretending, gave it total power...its a dialog between them and she definitely not only look like him but also is very talented and strong young lady. RIP Karel Gott.

Well, i like this song. But his voice is nothing here to what it used to be before his illness. Moreover, he was already fatally ill here, dying. It's his last goodbye to his daughter and his fans. "What God is planning...", In the text, was a hint. He knew, the author of the text knew and his daughter too. That's the strength of the song. If you want to here what his angelic voice sounded like, listen here. It's the song that was played in his funeral then. A few months later. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S9BqbpQgouY.html

Sometimes it is known what God prepares1 And that you can’t see all the places But God is a good-natured God, an altruist Who gave me you, home, a haven That’s where you are My whole world Gracious embrace And a wild flight And music around us One of the beautiful things That sends shivers down our spines You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And I can already feel now how time flies I want to hear your voice before I fall asleep Let these few moments stay forever When you were singing so powerfully Your root is solid as a trunk But don’t forget that trees grow tall, There are thousands of routes in tree tops We’ll meet at the end of each You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars You know, hearts will go on But it may happen Like so many times That I’ll suddenly get scared You mustn’t give up then I keep shining on illuminating all your paths You, the only one of all the stars And if the stream carries me away You have to float On a laurel raft And don’t fall asleep I keep shining on illuminating all your paths lyricstranslate.com

2019 was so bad year. Karel Gott was dying. My father was dying. I was pregnant. It was awful… Karel Gott passed away on my daughters birthday 1.10.2019… and this song makes me cry everytime I hear it. I feel like I have similar destiny with his family… It is very painful to lose father. Our first love of our lives… 😞🖤By the way Karel Gott was so greatest artist like no one else. Also he was humest, kind and always lived for his fans. Our country misses him so much …🖤

This song is actually one of his last ones, and the lirics literally *shout* that he is sorry for himself must leave one time soon. He is saying goodbye with this one 😭

What a pity they only had very badly translated lyrics. Seeing the translatation I think the main idea is lost. It should not be translated word by word.

Hello friends! Loved your reaction and subbed immediately, your energy brings a smile to me as well, hope you will keep on doing this. Karel Gott was called Sinatra of the East. When this video was made, he was 80 years old, it's one of his last songs to be recorded before his death. I guess you can find some similarities with "Hurt" from Johnny Cash, which you already heard. Gott was just ending his life on a higher note. He said he wanted his daughter to have something to remember him by. If you like Gott's voice and want to hear him on the top of his game, definitely try the Cinderella link in the other comment. Also his cover of "Forever Young" was pretty awesome! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z69FesMxnJA.html (no need to react, just to hear for yourselves 🙂)
