Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!! This is our first time here and we are amazed by just how beautiful this city is. In this video, we take you on a journey through the captivating neighborhoods of Kuala Lumpur, from the lively streets of Bukit Bintang to the modern downtown with views of the Petronas Twin Towers, the iconic symbol of Kuala Lumpur's modern skyline. We'll also delve into the heart of Malaysian cuisine, exploring the colorful food markets and indulging in local delicacies like nasi lemak. A trip to KL isn't complete without a visit to Batu Caves where we tackle the brightly colored stairs and take in a view over the city.

Just remember one thing, we are night crawlers. We do not normally roaming around in the hot tropical sun. We do indoor during the day and outdoor at night, especially this time around where the temperature is scorching hot. Careful with heat stroke and do not let urself be part of the statistic. Stay cool and get plenty of water
@BrianandCarrie
@BrianandCarrie Год назад
We can totally see why many would choose to be out at night. We found it so much more enjoyable to be out of the sunshine beating down on us and have the temps down just a bit when we did go out in the evening. Plenty of water is key! Thanks so much for watching - Cheers!!

I had a feeling you two would enjoy KL. We really enjoy that city. We have already been there for a total of three months this year. You are pretty spot on with everything you have said. We have been in Southeast Asia for a while now and have gotten pretty used to the heat. However, the great thing about Bukit Bintang is the elevated air conditioned walkways you mentioned. There are also underground air conditioned walkways that connect the malls and other places. We could literally go grocery shopping, hang out at the mall, dining, go to the movies, go to doctors appointments, etc. and barely break a sweat. I agree the sidewalks there are great compared to many other places in Southeast Asia and it's also great that many of them are covered to provide shelter from the sun and rain. The last place we stayed in Bukit Bintang had a lot of trees and we loved it. As far as transportation is concerned, Grabs are great there and the train works a charm as well. Looks like you stayed away from Jalan Alor street. You didn't miss much. Better local food and experiences can be had elsewhere. Thanks for sharing your experience of KL. Safe travels on your way to Singapore.
@BrianandCarrie
@BrianandCarrie Год назад
We walked through Jalan Alor Street many times but were not impressed. The prices were higher, and it was touristy, we found better options. We did very much enjoy the city and we were able to get a lot of work done. Safe travels!! Cheers!!🍻
@816vince
@816vince Год назад
@@BrianandCarrie yes Jln Alor is more for the tourists so the price is higher. Also it is dominated by mostly Thai cuisines, not really local Malaysians... Better ones are actually behind Berjaya Time Square, around Mercure Hotel.. Many of those food outlets have been around for more than 50 years but mostly Chinese cuisines.

Awesome video! Malaysia is an amazing place! The food is fantastic. I think Nonya food is a hidden gem that isn't well-known in the US, but some roti canai and a big bowl of laksa are always great. Full massages aren't my thing at all, but a food massage after walking around all day is perfect and they are cheap enough in SE Asia that you can easily get one a day.

Our life in KL for 8 months- living in a constant state of being drenched. Either with sweat, due to the insane humidity- or by the constant rain (like clockwork) every day. 😂 KL is definitely not the most walkable city (unless you're downtown), and the transit isn't the greatest in Asia, but it's an absolutely amazing place. A lot of great food, and has an East meets West vibe. Lots of comforts from home, but still feels very diverse and beautiful. We seriously miss it there! ❤
@BrianandCarrie

We agree 100% on either being wet by humidity or rain 😂. We loved the daily storms that moved through, they were so impressive and typically moved by quickly. We really enjoyed our time here and can see the draw for many that choose it as a place to stay long term. Cheers 🍻

Guess what...I was in an apartment with the same view as you at the same time but on the 41st floor! Incredible I never ran into you. Malaysia supports a disproportionately high number of foreign migrant workers from other Southeast Asian (other than Singapore) and South Asia countries : at least 7 million of them, equivalent to 22 percent of Malaysia's population and 45 percent of its workforce.

What an amazing looking city! I am so impressed with everything that you showed! Definitely a must see, at least once! But ugh, it looks like you guys are really struggling with the oppressive humidity. I would be dying! Not sure if you two are familiar with the concept of 'wet-bulb temperature', but extremely humid environments like that inhibit the body's ability to cool itself through evaporative cooling, and so life-threatening heat stroke can happen at much lower temperatures than you would think and can happen in as little as six hours! So definitely play it safe! Great video!!
@BrianandCarrie
@BrianandCarrie Год назад
We did find the humidity hard to deal with for long stretches. Thankfully we found many locations we could hop into (usually the malls ☺) where we could relax for a bit in the nice cool temps. We hadn't ever heard of that term, thanks for sharing - quite interesting Thanks so much for watching - Cheers 🍻

Hey you two! I've been waiting weeks for this video to post, just because it seemed appropriate. My wife and I met you in the mall by Patronus Towers! Bryan and Ariana from Chicago. I just wanted to say how amazing it was to run into you both. We really appreciated your time and chatting with you for a few minutes. You're even more cool in person than on the videos. I'm a really huge fan of your channel, your style, and your editing. Have a safe journey to Singapore. As you said there is a lot to see and do there as I experienced the country for 1 week. Gardens By the Bay ( including Super trees, Cloud forest and flower dome) , Botanical Gardens, Sentosa Island for adventures, Orchard for shopping. There are plenty of places including hawker centres to try local dishes which are fairly priced. Try their MRT trains, they are very good and runs on time and are well connected.

KL is quieter. I prefer the hustle of Bangkok! But I loved Petaling -Chinatown. I stayed at 4pts Sheraton soooo affordable and a new construction. Pavilion Mall was fancy but they have Five Guys Burgers 🍔 if you need your Western Fix and The Four Seasons has Nobu sushi 🍣 restaurant if you want an upscale experience for a fraction of the price in US. I loved the Free Buses that take you around KL. The Go bus Green line went from Patronas to Bukit Bintang in a circle. Free Air Conditioned bus!!!
