Blade didn't save Marvel Comics from bankruptcy,Marvel only made $ 25,000 from the 1st Blade film. The first TMNT film made $ 202 million dollars on a budget of $ 13.5 million.Marvel's bankruptcy didn't have anything to do with comics, just the greed of a new owner. There's a documentary that covers the entire bankruptcy about Marvel on youtube,it's fairly long, yet interesting.
No blade did not save Marvel!!! Marvel had to use 10 properties as collateral in 2005 to borrow 525 million dollars from Merrill Lynch and with that money the MCU was born.
Welcome to the real beginning of the MCU. Without this movie, there never would have been the whole 'comic book' movie trend that began in the early 00's...
@@juliusperseus8612 but that's only by comparison, the worst grossing MCU film still earns more at the box office than 90% of the other movies out there that's why they still keep making them because they're still basically printing money
To my lil 28 years of knowledge, there are only a handful of actors/black actors that really have hands 😂☝🏾. Wesley is one of them, he’s trained in many ways of martial arts. So is Michael Jai White. Denzel says he really got hands but idk😂 he looks like he does in the movies. And it’s another actor named Tai mak, he played in a movie called The last dragon.
Blade was created by Marvel. Before Marvel Studios was created, movies were made about comic book heroes/vigilantes by differentcompanies. You should see Punisher with Dolph Lundgren
Vampires have different ranks and positions... some are business/politics, some are battle leaders as far as planning and some are actual soldiers...so these in the movie are the business money makers.
In the universe of the Blade movies, vampires are very long-lived, but they do age, and suffer the degeneration of old age; also. these vampires vary i physical ability the same way humans do (big buff vampires are stronger than average-sized, middle-aged vampires...especially if they're being held at gunpoint...
There was a power transfer between frost and the pure blood when frost killed the head of the table he became the head of the table. The reason why the council took grief from frost is because he was in charge of the criminal underground. In other words he makes them a lot of money.
I suggest to watch the all blade movies, Aliens movies with Sigourney Weaver, AVP, ALL RESIDENT EVIL MOVIES.l, all Riddick movies. I do believe you guys will enjoy them all. Especially all Hannibal movies with Anthony Hopkins. Start with Silence of the Lambs, then Hannibal, Red Dragon, and finally, Hannibal Rising. My favorite. Do not underestimate these movies. They will blow your mind. I hope you guys enjoyed them all, and the jurassic park movies of the movies. Enjoy!! *in case of comedy Robin Hood, Men in Tights Hot Shots Hot Shots Part Deux and Dracula Dead and Loving It And best ones all the "Scary movies" too lol. Just to funny to me. TAKE CARE 👋👋
The Originals from TVD, were Not Purebloods, and their mother, turned them using magic, and in TVD universe they cannot have children. For the Blade Universe, only Purebloods can procreate by having children, Turned vamps can only turn others, including Blade (he is NOT a Pureblood). But Blade could turn other humans into vampires. The only way to make more Day-Walkers, would be to infect a woman before giving birth. - Some people might ask, ‘Why doesn’t Blade make more like himself?’ But that creates a moral dilemma, all the mothers would have to be killed after. (Not sure if Blade can procreate through sex, he does age like a human, so maybe?)
Purebloods were weak because they were stuck in old ways they rather hide then fight they were fighting with frost about that through the movie. They were just prissy humans with sharp canines. Frost actually fought and so did his people they went out and killed and learned about technology, the purebloods seem to reject that. After Frost killed the leader the rest of them fell in line. I'm used to seeing the older the vampire the stronger they are but I don't think it really works that way it goes by who bit you and how strong they were there's a huge difference between frost biting you and Drake from blade 3 biting you then there's nomec aka reapers from part two they were stronger than untrained vampires. Hell I say nomec beat blade and so did Drake.
Agreed. This world never establishes that older vampires are automatically stronger, like in the True Blood show. Being older and pure blood in this world just puts you at a higher station in vampire society
Blade 2 is really badass also:) You guys should watch some Wesley Snipes movies. Blade 2 of course and 3. Passenger 57, Demolition Man, New Jack City, White Men Can't Jump, US Marshals, Rising Sun. When it comes to vampire movies watch The Lost Boys and 30 Days of Night.
The purebloods aren’t fighters but are also non combatants as they’ve always existed as ‘normal’ throughout time. Half bloods or ‘turned’ are the more aggressive with no discipline. The vampire are all really about the same strength though. Karen cured herself as a hematologist who understands blood. Blade drinks serum to avoid addiction to humans but it makes him only like half strength. Once he drinks human blood he’s at full strength so the action was amped up during the final battle scenes. Also blade has had to come to terms of his birth as he was always somewhat resentful of his own existence.
@bruceleeds7988 He was overpowered because there were too many at once. He also kills Frost with a weapon. He uses weapons to kill all vampires. They say it in the movie and the comics. Blade has all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses except the thirst.
The reason Blade cuts that plant in half is because he is a follower of bashido. In the bashido code samurai would often raise boñsai trees. If a samurai was going into a battle they didn't believe they were not coming back from they would destroy the bonsai; symbolizing their commitment to the battle.
That’s because people that got turned often didn’t have a choice Familiars are CHOOSING to work with vampires quite understandable why Blade hates them most.
@@AllThingsKen nothing wrong with that or even better black conservatives. Then again most western countries are wasting time with pathetic causes right now, so it wouldn't really matter either way.
i love this movie. the actor who plays quinn, Donal logue. he is the twin brother of my middle school teacher. Ive met him a few times, really nice down to earth guy. even got to be an extra in one of his films super chill guy
Besides watching the sequels, there would recommend watching the short-lived “Blade:The Series”, (I think it takes place between Bade 2 and 3?), but gives more depth the the anti- vampire resistance, as well as background of the vampires.
Blade is an anti-hero. It means he has no qualms about killing his enemies. There are other anti-heroes in Marvel like Deadpool, The Punisher, Ghost Rider, & Wolverine. They also have no qualms about killing their enemies.
This is not the "true" Definition of Anti-Hero. The heroes you mention are Vigilantes, people who take justice in their own hands. Batman was the same, he used to kill people but DC Changed his moral code when he became more popular with children. Anti-Heroes are villains who's story you follow, whether you root for them or not. They are usually bad guys who fight worse guys either for revenge or for personal gain, their actions inadvertently do good for us all sometimes. Prime Anti Heroes include: Scarface, The Bride (Kill Bill), Terminator, Henry Hill, Suicide Squad, Selena (Underworld and everyone in the movie Pulp Fiction.
The purebloods are like “old money”, and the turned are like “new money”. They’re both rich, but old money wouldn’t know how make their own toast, or use a laundromat. The Purebloods are like royalty going back and thousands of years. Where they grow up literally never lifting a finger for themselves. ( Blade: The Series shows a lot of this class conflict).
100% accurate exactly they have no idea how to make toast and they have a nanny it's kind of those movies that show rich kids having a nanny doing everything for him and the kid can't even make its own toast That's what the pure bloods remind me of and stuff like that❤
Wesley Snipes the actor that played Blade began training in martial arts when he was 12 years old. He has a 5th degree black belt in Shotokan karate and a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido. He has also trained in Capoeira in a number of other disciplines including Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing
Wesly Snipes choreographed most of the fight scenes for this movie. Snipes holds Black belts in Hapkido and Shototkan Karate and has studied Kung Fu, kick boxing and capoeira ( Afro-Brazilian Martial art) The comic version of the character first appeared back in the 70's i think and he was a normal human with no enhanced strength or speed.
Blade has the best fight choreography of any of the Marvel movies. By the time they started making “R” rated movies again (modern rating mainly due to language, sexual content/references), the fear of upsetting someone in an audience had the lawyers checking screenplays more often than the director.
1:00 Wesley Snipes I believe wanted to do a Black Panther film but never got it done. But a film named Blade passed. One of my early favorites next to Spawn starring Michael Jai White another classic raw action 90's film
*SUNSHINE 2007* is a film that I highly recommend to all. It is a hidden cinematic treasure that captures a sense of profound melancholy through its stellar performances. This terrifying, awe-inspiring, and hopeful masterpiece explores existential themes that will make you contemplate life's meaning. The transcendent soundtracks and overall sound design add an extra layer of depth to the viewing experience. To truly immerse yourself, make sure to watch it on a big screen with a top-notch sound system/headphones You will love it
I always assumed that Whistler was slightly suicidal, that's why he's so brave fighting the vampires, and so careless with the gasoline. He did lose his wife and daughters after all.
Loved both of your reactions BTW lol. Yall so young lol😂😂 Take care, enjoy 😊👋 Also back then, in the movies the elders main power was immunity. Not like the ones they make now like, they the older ones and got mega strength. No is more like live for a long time mainly. So they didn't know how to fight or needed bc they were on top. So in order you know to make more, gotta bite a human. They went through the centuries adapting to humanity in order to survive. As they adapted, they got power not like only in living but in human worlds. They got money, connections, bought out like soldiers for protection. Humans love money come on lol, so why not use them to make them like they're slave? So that they can prove themselves to become one. Remember the followers were called familiars. So they wanna show they're loyal bc they wanna be a vampire.
It's not a Marvel movie. It's a rated R adaption based on a Marvel comics character. This is not part of that Marvel Cinematic Universe they started in 2008.
That new blade movie your talking about has been shelved 3x so I don't think it's happening, and plus it was recently let known that the company would like to use Wesley again for a new blade movie I mean hell he was in wolverine deadsht 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
constructive suggestion, don't skip over the best part of the movie (when he snatches his shades and the music starts). You edited right past it. If you want more subscribers, it's a good rule of thumb. Cheers
I called the pure bloods they're not weak they're just not fighters they don't fight like other people they fight with their minds which is business people and they have lived a long time so they know how to live as long as they've had just like the guy that died at the beginning he was a business guy had in charge uses his money and power to beef him up so he has power over everybody but Frost he is the outcast so he's going to fight against them and once he killed the head leader he has control of everybody else The fighters the gunners the people that are in the ski hats that are holding the pure bloods in place during the ritual they're all business people they're just purebloods they were born that way they never learned how to fight and do things like a daywalker did they learned how to control people❤ Without blade we wouldn't have r-rated versions of a certain movies after this movie debuted it was the Ninja turtles in the '90s that saved marvel and then blade saved marvel even more in '98 we wouldn't have a iron Man I don't know what iron man would be like without this blade version of the '98
