I wouldnt say its underrated. Its critically acclaimed for each film as well as being successful box office hits. Its the reason why matt reeves, the director of the apes trilogy, is doing the batman trilogy now.
Koba was intended to survive as at the very end of the credits you can hear him breathing crawling out the rubble also it was a weird fall to land on a wire then to fly onto the thing but they decided to keep him dead and give his part to another character in war
believe it or not, vegetation is incredibly adaptable and there are tons of people that make a living off of reconstructing and preventing from overgrowth! Given 6 years without any form of maintenance: grasses would start to split concrete, trees would grow along open areas which are usually plucked out when they begin to grow, and various mosses, vines, and even animals would cause deterioration in structures:)
I think the perception that the vegetation couldn't grow that fast in 10 years might come from the fact that you guys live so far north. It's absolutely insane how quicky things grow in climates where it's warm most of the year. My family once planted peppers in our garden, and we decided to stop watering it because it was producing peppers way faster than we could eat them. Lack of water meant NOTHING to that thing, it was still popping out peppers and growing taller on a daily basis.
it would be way more overgrown after 10 yrs...think about how tall grass and weeds get in the yard after only 2mo of not cutting it, sometimes over 3ft
I disagree. My driveway cracks grow weeds in 2 days😂😂. I think it would get overgrown super fast with no traffic and maintenance. This trilogy is one of the best remakes to date for me.
This whole trilogy is just greatness. I know you guys aren’t huge fans of Horror buuuut PLEASE react to The Hills Have Eyes(2006) movie. It’s just amazing
This is one of the very few franchises where the remakes lived up to the originals... Of course there's significant special effects differences, but the films all of them in this reboot (there has been failed attempts) are worthy of watching...

People don’t realise how quickly nature takes over when there’s no humans around to keep things the way they are. If humans disappeared I’d say ten years is MORE than enough time for everything to start being reclaimed by the land.
The guy at the start wouldnt have shot if he didn't get jumped at. Didn't seem that way anyway. I'd bet just about everyone would do the same. Though he most certainly fucked up hiding a gun. Thats what I love about these movies, no side is exempt from criticism.

Your take on the timeline…maybe incorrect. I think Maurice and Caesar were saying it’s been 10 years since they SEEN humans but not referring to how long it’s been since the virus took over. My guess it was longer than 10 years due to the over run city.

If I was Caesar I would've unalived all of those humans in the beginning because not only did one of them try to unalive one of us,they also had the nerve to say "we don't mean any harm" after one of them already tried to unalive one of my people just because I have an army with me. None of this would've happened if Caesar just unalived everyone in that first group they interacted with in the woods or unalived Koba like he should've.

To be fair, you’re not the only reaction people to make this mistake, but you turned off subtitles, which means the viewers can’t actually understand most of what is being said through large parts of the movie, because it’s all subtitled translations of sign language. Also: Yes it’s spread to all great apes, because it’s a virus, not a chemical. Geez, you haven’t figured that out by the second film? Anyway, not usually one to critique your show, but those were both worth noting. I couldn’t finish this after the first few minutes, because I didn’t understand the apes.
39:56 Exactly the people who experiment on his and locked him in cage are all dead thanks to the virus, so Koba just taking his rage out on innocent people who did nothing to him.
Caesar taught them ape not kill ape. Coba killed a lot of apes. Seasar said Coba not ape. Caesar is a chimpanzee, but cobra is not a chimpanzee he is a Bonobo different species than chimpanzees but quite similar.
