Before social media was even a term, I had 20 metal real estate signs that you could stick in the ground, that I got out of the trash, that I painted with "Yard Sale" and an arrow on both sides. I put them all down the streets every Friday night - pointing the arrows toward my house. I always sold out. Signs work!!

Love the yard sale! My favorite part was the man that was born in the Bronx and was talking about that picture 33 and 3 rd Street…how he said how they talked ! Loved it!

$45 Batman figure - $5. THAT is why you are so blessed!! Seriously. I used to sell used washers and driers that were worth $100 for $20, and I think that is why I always had plenty of customers and money. I was making more than money, I was making friends and helping my community. I see you guys doing that as well. Just sharing the LOVE!

I always said "Check engine light is on!! Means I still got an engine!!" Been on every car I owned as well

When we lived in the UK my wife and I not only went to a lot of Boot fairs, we did a few as well, we soon came to realise no matter what prices we asked for, our goods were only worth what people were prepared to pay, so basically, we stopped priceing items and only asked people what were they prepared to pay. But at the same time, we would have a good laugh with everyone, but also be polite and treat people with respect. Things went so much better.( Boot Fairs.... Huge garage sales in a field with as many as 500 sellers using Paiste tables and the boot of their cars),I do miss them....

Future reference you can always let people rummage through the back yard stuff. Whenever I get that kind of rock star access I leave no stone unturned. Plus you save time not moving stuff and still may be able to move a few items.

Really enjoyed this one Turner and Sammie! Seeing some of the neighborhood gang and your mom was awesome. Icing on top had to be George Foreman. What a great legacy he has created . Kids need more ppl. like him from generation to generation curiosity will win if there isn't more education and an fun alternative to drugs. It happened in the 60's through the 90's,into the next century and it continued different drugs may be used but its the same old story so getting to kids when their young is what's been proven to work. So way cool you donating the fishing stuff! ❤

Ironically my family moved from one of those rich beach towns that you score so much stuff from (albeit in the South), where we could hold a yard sale any time we wanted, to a snotty HOA-dominated development where yard sales are quite literally banned (along with almost everything else). In the process of moving there was obviously a ton of stuff perfect for a yard sale, but just too busy to do it then and can't do it now.

I have had some epic garage sales myself and I agree that most people show up by your signs. Use of bold arrows on your signs are definitely a good idea since many people are zipping by the sign and don't have time to read the street address. My kitty says meow to your kitty crew.

*** A Tip for yard sale sellers in regards to Yard Sale Signs....Add a vertical strip of Duct Tape on the back of your yard sale signs, it reinforces the cardboard to hold staples.

My mom would make signs with water color paints like rainbow 🌈 colored ones and I swear we would do it twice a year and people would come just because of the signs ...they loved our yard sales...crazy fun we would have...and we would serve coffee and cake for donations....me and my dad would put up the signs I would sit on his shoulders to get them high so people would see them...so funny I remember doing it on Friday nights....

I miss having yard sales. When I lived in Grand coulee I had lots of them. All the money in the end I would save up for my eldest daughter and it bought all her school supplies and school activities for the year and that is what I would use the money for. Now my eldest daughter is a Senior in college. Double majoring in business and accounting. She is doing absolutely amazing. Be safe, love , and peace.
