Our First Year In Mississippi After Leaving California, HIGHLIGHT REEL!
We sold our home and tiny farm in rural Southern California in 2022 and moved to a 45 acre farm in Northern Mississippi. There is a lot to do on the new farm to get it where we want it, the goal is to be growing and raising all of our own food and eventually to make a profit from the farm. Here are the highlights of our first year. From starting the garden, getting livestock and chickens, Frankie killing her first deer and learning to operate a tractor... What a year!

I always love watching the Mississippi RU-vidrs. I grew up there and graduated from MSU. Living in Georgia now, near Athens. My first horse was given to me too and I loved her so much. So happy for Frankie. Having a horse was such a blessing to me and will be for Frankie too. I grew up in Meridian many, years ago. Have relatives in Starkville, Columbus, & Macon.

You just took me back 30 years. We sold our home in Mission Viejo CA when it was taking me 15 minutes to get on the freeway to go to work. Moved to North Carolina, and bought an old farm. Rebuilt the house, and added onto the barn. We raised horses and kids. We planted a garden and grew our hay. That was a long time ago and I'm beyond throwing hay bails now. Have fun. Your memories will last forever.

Wonderful watching the transformation of not just your property but your family as well. It was wonderful that you shared Mike's baptism that's something personal. I am born and raised Californian but left permanently in 92. I've lived in Utah and Nevada before migrating East. I lived near Kansas City for 8 years. After that I ended up in the South following my Sister's family. I lived just South of Birmingham. That felt like home. I only moved to Nashville a few years later after getting positive feedback from a music publisher after hearing some of my songs. I'd have a hard time moving out of the South. It's been 19 years, Pensacola for 6 years right now. I love the food. I love the growing seasons, the people, the climate etc.

We left Sol Cal 3 years ago, we went to PNW Oregon, and we also had to buy sight unseen. We ended up getting “Green Acres”, but have it all repaired and brought up to code now. We miss So Cal at times but the fresh air and greenery is refreshing. I know my horse likes it better !

I love this show I live in Southern California in Encinitas on the coast line man all that land and animals just seems like heaven I’m so glad you made the move and you did it at a good age and your daughter is just the perfect age to learn to hunt to build to take care of a horse you guys are amazing my. My friend just bought 35 acres in Tennessee so people are tired of paying an arm and a leg and not getting anything especially when you can work from home and lots of different places I wish you guys so much happiness and just get a kick out ofwatching you all much love, Lauren

I admire all of the channels that uprooted their lives and moved to start fresh in another state. I remember in 1997 we did the same thing but it wasn’t to another state but another town and it was the best thing we ever done . From a lot in town to 5 acres with a pond BEAUTIFUL.

Yeah California is not a place to live any more for the average family to expensive to many rules and laws. It Probability was great to live there 50 to 75 years ago. But not anymore, unless you make 500K or more a year.
