Do people ACTUALLY complain about paying FIVE DOLLARS! $5! $5 To come in and have access to loads of educational information and to view/touch/hold some of the most beautiful and largest snakes in the world. $5 is too much?! Do they think that's cheap work....? I would pay 10-15 to get in there for a day and have access to all of that education and face to face action with such beautiful snakes. Moving all the animals and adjusting them and people who visit them to a new location could be quite an ordeal and very costly to a point that paying more rent would even be a more economical approach! I would try and negotiate with the landlord to see if a better term would be within possibilities! Thank you very much for the work you do and your videos!

I think people see the price of your snakes and think money is not an option or problem when we all know how breeding any animal it's hard to make a living at more less a profit. A. Why not go into crowd funding? B. You could let people ‘adopt’ snakes and other reptiles. They could pay so much per month and for that they could have, say, a photo; history of the particular animal; free visit on the birthday (human and/or animal); 2or 3 monthly updates on how they are etc. C. You could perhaps write educational books on (1) how to look after certain reptiles for the beginner (2) for the more advanced keeper (3) breeding (4)individual breeds(5) story/history of the shop (6) autobiography. D. Monthly subscriptions where the money could be used to keep the very educational zoo going. I hope you won’t think that all my ideas are rubbish. Good luck!

You're going to think I'm nuts, but if you are considering moving I urge you to look at the Mississippi gulf coast. Tourism has boomed down here but it's still inexpensive to live here. There are a few other wildlife/informational groups such as yourself here, but none who work with snakes. I think you'd find the area very receptive. If you've never been here, or haven't visited in a while I think you'd be surprised to see what we have to offer.

Just started watching your videos and I must say I'm really impressed with how much work you put into educating others. This is a great channel and I hope you guys are able to work things out. As for an idea- I know this might sound strange but the game streaming video platform Twitch is a good place to do live videos where people can donate through PayPal while watching. I know people also do art streams on there so I don't think their rules are too strict? Might be worth looking into it if you're willing to do live streams. :)

I still have no clue to everything, but I don’t need to understand everything you guys do. After all, anyone can see you’re doing a great thing and working with amazingly beautiful and cute animals!

Jay I had hoped after watching countless hours of your awesome videos and coming to admire and respect all that you and Tim do for those who can only dream of living the dream! I would be able to reach out to you personally and tell you being a long time fan I would have loved to at this point in time become a customer too. Well while you were on vacation which I didn't know you were, I sent an email to YOU personally to tell you after owning several other snakes as pets I was finally after 30 years of dreaming being able to get my 1st retic I was ready to make that purchase and in that email I stated I decided that the 1st retic I purchased would only be from you and Prehistoric Pets. Well like I said didn't know you were on vacation and as it turns out JT became the person to contact me back about my inquiry to purchase my chosen baby retic. That's where things went south in a hurry!!!!!!!! And I thought maybe I was the one acting like the problem, EVEN THOUGH!!!! the customer I thought usually deserved the benefit of the doubt barring any personal attack's to staff or employees. Instead, I was the one that came under personal attack and called a trouble maker by JT! Well like I said, I thought could it have been me? But even though I knew I wasn't the problem I went to research and read some reviews from recent customers and at that time found I was not in short company of concern and disbelief of what was at one time a happier memory of years past and the experience people had and were able to count on at one time have been dashed and disappointed. I have all the emails that went back in forth between JT and I and he let it be known he thought ya'll were better off without me as a potential client and suggested I moved on!!!!! But then I thought since you are the OWNER maybe you should have the opportunity to decide that!!!!! Sorry to hear about your dalima but maybe a more personal touch or even the benefit of doubt before an employee decides who may be a potential customer or trouble maker? The picture he texted me was not the animal posted on morph market and I had concerns is all . I just wished I could have gotten a Prehistoric retic because in my mind all those video's would have meant a lot more to me..... Good luck.... I truely mean no ill will, I just hope you take the time to review those emails that really were meant for you, but instead JT took that aspect of your sales dept. and made his own up his own mind and turned me away. I would buy my own building sell a few breeders .Make the money to get your building . Sell half the collection to get the building .You will be able to rebuild the collection easy . I did that to get my own place .less worries. Not having to worry about the owner increases rent

I want you to keep living your dream. I hope that doesn't end for you. I am a fifty four year old woman and I love to watch your snake videos. I am scared to death of them and don't want to own one, but I do find them fascinating from afar. Is a turtle a reptile? That is about the only thing I could see me buying to help out. (It's not really helping out because you give back all of the time with your informative video's and your nice personality.) Maybe open a patreon account and have your fans give as they can. I know you said the economy is better than it was in California but it still sucks BIG time so have you considered moving to another state where the cost of living is so much cheaper and that way your rent would be cheaper. I know you would probably want to be by family, but it is a thought. Pretty soon there will be a charge to use a public bathroom in California....might as well as they charge for everything and tax everything to death. Anyway peace and best wishes.

How difficult would it be to book large events like state fairs or maybe events at zoos? I remember as a kid going to a state fair that had a whole shark tank that they would scuba in, feed the sharks, and just a lot of educational presentation. They sold all kinds of t-shirts and other cool things. If they had done it after shark week came about, I'm sure it would've been quite popular. Maybe start some type of snake week up - you could create attention for it with some type of viral video for marketing if you do your homework on producing it. There has been historical success with that tactic with viral videos that came out before movies, and were produced for that purpose. Jimmy Kimmel produced the one of the twerking girl who caught on fire for example. At any rate, I hope something comes together for you guys in a big way.

I had a similar rent increase sudden spike and they never did explain why. Luckily even after a little more stress with the company I was working for messing with peoples benefits, I was able to buy a place in a very short time, cheaper than my rent and a whole lot bigger so my scaly daughter at the time was able to have her own big room.

Would you be opposed to moving out of California? For example, from my knowledge South Carolina (even though it’s far) doesn’t have many if any restrictions on the reptiles you keep and the cost of living and running a business is cheep compared to California

I see that this is 2017. But have you thought about doing what some zoo;s do? They have people sponsor a specific animal by giving monthly donations to help care / feed for that specific animal. Email them pictures of their sponsored animal and send them a sponsor certificate.

Serious question here. Retics and Lg. pythons can have to 30 + eggs.... even if you get only 15 eggs, I'm sure you make hundreds of Large snakes each year. How many of them do you actually sell?! I can't believe that the market for such large pythons and retics is nearly as massive as it is for ball pythons. Whom do you sell them to?! I love my ball python, might get another one. And as much as I love watching you handle the Lg. snakes, I don't think that I would ever get one. Thanks for answering my questions.

I really want to come but i live in germany :/ Our zoo is amazing!

I’ve been coming for years, before the reptile zoo AND prehistoric pets used to always be very well taken care of, maintenance was on point. As of now I come in once a week for feeders and it’s almost as if they never clean the tanks, the employees look like they dread their job and don’t have a passion for it. It’s just nothing like how it used to be. I suggest reanalyzing what you have NOW before expanding. I love furthering my knowledge in snakes myself, but wouldn’t pay $5 to see a zoo that doesn’t look 100% taken care of. Just some pointers. Love the zoo, but change is NEEDED.

Move to central Florida like everyone else...cheap, cheap, cheap....fifty million visitors a year, low taxes and very little regulation. There is lots of open land and empty buildings just south of Gator Land...build it and they will come. Big bill boards with Prehistoric Pets up and down interstate four.,..
