youre the shit dude. just a heads up...watch out for snakes that may weasel their way in and start making suggestions that will change your game for the worst once it gets major publicity...they do exist. For the community by the community
It's funny you mentioned the sound of freedom. I just watched the movie today. It was beautiful and touching. I encourage everyone to donate to the cause, and may God bless you. Another thing, I see an immense amount of potential in OHD. I've been enjoying the progress, my friend. You can do this.
The update is still not fully out, we're currently using the Steam Workshop to run our playtest of the upcoming update. If you want to try it out, go here. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2981595791
@@Bluedrake42 Thx thought it was, my bad, playtest is amazing tho, hope we get to see tanks too, or maybe i just havent seen them yet. Are you planning on implementing aircraft too?
This game is incredible and I love it but the thing is that the bot AI is kinda basic hope that you guys will work on that in the future but in the end its nothing to big. Also it would be incredible to see a story mode or more like a scenario singleplay/coop mode, it would give the game an entry point to new players.
Downloaded last night and I gotta say, this game already plays crisp. The AI is much more brutal than in this video it seems though (which is good!). But the scale of the maps and the moments where you're creeping through empty streets hearing gunfire in the distance before you hit contact is what I love most. It just feels like a realistic scenario. Rather than a tight area where you're just forced into constant firefight. The gun play and gun sounds are snappy and satisfying. Guns and animations are detailed enough but look spot on. Enemies aren't bullet sponges (and neither are you). The maps only need a few more filler objects, maybe some dust particles and background ambience which I'm sure will come, but of course not at the expense of the gameplay. Single player and multiplayer were both equally fun. And hopefully with mods, I'll see (or possibly create) some terrorist hunt/extraction scenario myself. I'll definitely be supporting this game by purchasing content packs etc if it keeps delivering. I actually refunded Six Days in Fallujah, now I've found the ideal game that delivers a more large scale tactical experience that I'd been looking for. I've played almost every popular shooter/sim mentioned, and this game nails it. Well done guys. I might copy paste this to my steam review. Now, back to the game! *Edit. I need to get that ACOG scope btw, I think mid range scopes would benefit me most in this game.
Because the fact that someone like me, who they ceaselessly slandered, is actually making a competitor to their game... is probably so incredibly embarrassing for them, that they finally had a fire lit under their ass. My bet is that it is too little too late though. The repercussions of their long-standing behavior is now catching up with them.
@@Bluedrake42 I'm not particularly invested in Squad, but my feed gets videos on Arma, Squad, etc. When I saw videos popping up about the new Squad update, I was like, hmm, what brought on the sudden change of heart? However OHD works out in future, you're already fulfilling one of your goals to become an industry catalyst for change! I think of you and Socrates in a similar way -- he compared himself to a horsefly, biting the ass of a complacent Athens and inciting its citizens to become more and better than they were. Of course, we know how that led to a hemlock end for him. :P
@@user-is3ku4tg9onahnotgonna If they aren’t then don’t bring it up, and it won’t matter right? ☺️ if they’re not worried about us, then they shouldn’t have a problem with us talking about it
This looks very Battlefield 2. Which is the best Battlefield game IMO. I played that game for years. Tried to play other Battlefield games that came afterward but they just didn’t hit the same. @Bluedrake42 if you’re making OHD in the spirit, look and feel of Battlefield 2, then this will indeed change the entire industry. That game was truly fun, but also asymmetric and tactical (enough). Bring back 6 person squads. Commanders. And don’t make vehicles nerfed. Vehicles / aircraft are supposed to be overpowered. That’s the point. But if you work together as a team then you’ll overcome a team that relies on vehicles / aircraft. Happened all the time in Battlefield 2.
I absolutely agree vehicles should be overpowered, but they should also have limited ammo, and should require logistical in-field rearming. We just don't get enough of that in games. I won't even touch BF 2042 seeing as how their vehicles have infinite ammo. It's absolutely ridiculous. I would love to see more games take the approach of Space Engineers or Star Citizen, where you have to manually rearm missiles/ballistic weapons in the field from a mobile stockpile you can bring with you. I think that's so cool. I'm tempted to jump into OHD, I think it still needs a few more features/fine-tuning and it could become my modern-day FPS of choice. I thought Trepang2 might scratch that itch, but it's a little bit like a less intricate version of Black + F.E.A.R. Not a bad game, but just very arcadey and simple.
@@billywashere6965 agree about the limited ammo thing. Might be a bit much to manually re-arm though. The thing I loved about BF2 was that it was tactical enough, in that if you played together as a team, you would wipe out the opposing force. Even though the starting positions and vehicles on hand etc. were asymmetrical. But the controls and how you got things done was simple. E.g. you could fix a tank or helo with a simple wrench from an engineer class. Games like Arma are just too clunky with their controls and it sucks the fun out of it. BF2 games on public servers used to go for a 45 mins to an hour sometimes which was awesome. There was always a flag that was the hot spot if you wanted to jump straight into the action, or there were always flags with vehicles where you could take them around the back of the map and start capping that way. So the game required organization and tactics and comms between Commander/SL/Soldiers but it was also packaged up in a way that was quick enough and easy enough which made it fun.
Your community has being doing more progress in a year than 5 years of Squad, really my best wishes to be this a fun pr successor! Also Bd, you should check out Easy Red 2, that project started as 1 man and in over a year they keep uptdating stuff, is meant primaly to be coop/single player with bots like Battefield 1942, and you can command bots and stuff
I’ve been following from the start. Crazy improvements over time. You’re right, with more people on board and more support, this will surpass triple A titles. Even with the state the game is in, all you need is high detail maps (as in, exceptional attention to detail, not graphics) and you’re already beginning serious competition with the likes of Squad and Hell Let Loose.
Hey, I have to personally thank you for the OHD game, for me it's one of the best games right now, I also own squad, but after playing ohd and squad side by side, I felt that ohd is more enjoyable and more fun for me. Yes, and finally I deleted the squad. Thank you once again for giving us this wonderful game for free. 🤩
this game came out a day or two after my birthday and its absolutely awesome even with my crappy laptop and turning the graphics just about all the way down for large battles like 25v25 to 64v64 its still awesome and so are the mods.
even for beefy pc's it starts to lag when its 64v64. I am sure they will optimize it a bit more in the near future, it runs good already but it still needs a bittttt of work performance wise.
Fix major lag on multiplayer servers, make weapon handling more dynamic, adjust movement and vaulting mechanics and tune the bots to be more fluid in-game. Also introduce a build mechanic and I swear you will make this game into something AAA gaming studios will have to be afraid of ❤ Sub since as far as I can remember, keep building this project and I look forward to future updates!!!
I think they'll get there, but it's going to take some time. I know Bluedrake mentioned they wanted destruction physics, but UE4/UE5 doesn't handle destruction physics quite as streamlined as Unity and Frostbite for larger scale destruction. I'm curious how they'll attempt to approach it? Keep it with windows/glass/small bits of concrete, or are they planning on procedural physics destruction? Keen Software passed on UE5 for Space Engineers 2 due to the fact that physics scaling is absolute hell on the processor. They have some serious work cut out for them, but if they can pull it off it would be pretty amazing.
@@billywashere6965 destructible environments would be insanely cool, but I know due to current limitations it will be difficult to achieve in a short period of time. I feel like once they fix connectivity issues the game will be very enjoyable. I noticed every time I throw or use a weapon that utilizes grenades, they seem to teleport from where I initially intended to throw which has caused some grenades to hit a wall and bounce straight back to me. This may be a server issue but my main issue with the game is primarily connectivity issues when joining a multiplayer server. I love the body cam mod on the steam workshop, it gives the game a sort of grainy realism that is expected from irl body cam footage.
we need this to become the PR succes since I see the squad devs slowly going backwards on their statement of wanting to change the game for the better and keep downtuning already
If I had a PC I would 100% play this, I’m on console playing games like insurgency and hell let loose and they are so broken atm. Some bugs are still there for months. I hope this games succeeds and shows that we’re tired of overpriced broken games with removed features and overpriced macrotransactions. Battlebit and this are making history in our very eyes.
i play your game and i have had it for quite a while now... being very honest I have loved it, It just gets better with every update.. thank you for the continous development and realistic creations.
For a pre alpha the game is amazing. My only big problem with it at the moment are the servers. If i'm not wrong they are based in UK and for me a NA player they are way too laggy to really enjoy the game. But a part of that, all i saw is purely amazing and i can't wait to see the game getting better and better. Thanks Bluedrake.
I play games that have tons of mod (Arma 3. Gmod, Ravenfield, etc) and imma hope that we wll be able to get intense and huge battles. I hope the modding community goes all in cause im really interested in what will happen in the future.
any chance of making a video telling us a bit more on the progress of the AI dev? The game looks amazing, and I LOVE the fact that aiming down sights in iron sighter weapons such as the AK doesnt give you magical zoom.
I love what you're doing , and what i enjoy playing the most are mods like for Star Wars. I personnaly search for free FPS SW games and your mods are good with 2 cool maps and i want more !!!
The fact that I can play this game with a laptop and not even a gaming one at that just a normal laptop and play good really speaks volumes about this game, keep it up guys!!!
Love the videos! Small suggestion: Arma 2/3 used to have a popular gamemode called insurgency, maybe with the AI, bigger maps and vehicles this could work well for OHD too? I don't think there's any game out there that offers a similar experience/value
Your studio should prioritize mechanics with armored vehicles and infantry combat!! A lot of game struggle to make it dynamic!! It’s been cool to listen in and watch this game grow, as I have been a fan of the channel since before you announced it!! It’s been awesome watching this grow!!
You should add working bipods and customizable weapons but add weight to weapons the more attachments you add (like slower aiming down sights, increased weapon sway etc.) that would be quite cool ngl. Keep up the good work!
@@Bluedrake42 Don't normally comment on RU-vid. Haven't tried the game yet, but what I believe they are trying to say is zooming in and out of optics, like variable zoom. If it already has that then that is my bad.
Watching you play that map makes me thirsty for a well scripted Blackhawk Down game. Delta Force BHD was good for its time, but we need a modern version.
you guys should totally make a campaign mode, i know it would take a long time and cost alot but i know me and plenty others would love to play a story mode in such a fun and immersive shooter maybe a different story for each different era of war in the game!
Hey Bluedrake, I noticed some bots used original BF2 voices, I heard one even saying "hostile infantry spotted, over", do you plan on changing it in the future?
pls use the music at the clip as music of map queue as BF2, not all but a map like PR and BF2 that was so nice back in time and gives/sets so much ambience/mood before a match, it creates like a general hype and ideia of where it happens and what might happen
16:13 I like how that sound of the machine gun just straight up drowns the voice, just saying also: I wish that there will be destructible buildings (just like battlefield) in that game someday
Are you planning on implementing CAS that you can call in or even fly in another question I have is how large are the battles/maps going to be are they going to be like battlefield and if so with there be air to air combat really looking forward to further development of this game it looks great so far
@BusinessWolf1 Insurgency has its soft spots like the inconsistent bullet penetration but this looks like it could polish away some of those while delivering a differing experience similar to Project Reality 🤞🤞
Here's a neat idea. You could try incorporating national Manuals of Arms as a cosmetic detail. The US would have their Manual of Arms, and so would the Russians or Vietcong. That would give OHD a level of detail that's not really seen, even with ARMA as I understand from experience. If you got this suggestion already and are not hot on the idea, just gimme a holler.
honestly bluedrake, I really recommend making this game maybe $10-15 once you feel it is up to the standard you believe appropriate, i would buy it ten times over, and, setting yourself apart from AAA games like you said, having no further micro transactions, unlike arma, just a suggestion, though I am sure many of us would agree with me
As a 2015 vet of Armored Warfare, I will be all over your game if you can bring in modern tanks and make it better than the Rus have screwed it up. I'll buy all you DLC and contribute. Will download and check out. BTW, playing on a Max Studio using Crossover so hope it loads :) Best Regards and Best Wishes!
Considering one of the financial backers for this movie was just arrested and charged with child kidnapping, you may wanna rethink who you're getting sponsorship from. You would think the lead actor having strong ties to Q anon would have been enough to say "no". Not a good look, dude
idk where to say it but... When will you fix the sks bug ? Like when you empty the magasin, you have to slide 2 time the bolt forward and this is a huge pain in the as with a such gun
