The doctor said one in a million?? That actually seems kind of generous considering there are 7.28 billion people on the planet and no one has what Katie has.
It was clearly stated in the video that she has a known condition, just with new symptoms. It's like having the flu and getting purple eyes besides all the other known symptoms.
Tran Bao all i say is you athesit people don't let anyone have their own beliefs you have to amidititley say things like "God isn't real and you are stupid for believing in him" it is ok to havr your own beliefs and opinions but don't ruin other people's beliefs and opinions
As a doctor I have seen many children with disability who has awesome loving parents.the dedication and the commitment to their child is amazing...let's pray to make the stronger..
when i say it in article like that people say that they are happy and loved... and its gods will and stuff... and i am the bad one for pointed that out. but i will say it. at least that my comment will be shown. that its not fair
Liberty Hussein Bell Yes, if they knew 6 months in that she would be suffering they should of just let her leave peacefully there...but instead they decided to be selfish
Summer Maddison I was as horrified when the mother said that Katie makes HER happy. What about Katie’s happiness? Poor thing can it talk, doesn’t seem to have the awareness to learn to communicate, or doesn’t understand what communication is. In one frame, she’s hitting and biting herself. There’s no mention of her being educated or able to learn anything. And to look like that? Nope. I cannot understand how any parent would have considered abortion wrong u see this circumstance. She has no life.
Casey Neu yes, I’m aware. Her parents don’t seem to know anything about a brain-damaged child. Did you catch how the mother described seizure activity? In another video, plus an interview I read with this mother, states that they knew at twelve weeks that the foetus’ head was “three times normal size.” So, it was twelve weeks, pregnant, NOT six months that she was diagnosed. I don’t think the parents have the intellect to have grasped how damaged Katie’s brain would be. It’s reported in a local news article, or if you search RU-vid for Katie Renfroe, that this huge family’s sole source of income is Katie’s disability income. Shameful. Since this video, two of the daughters (neither married nor with the fathers) have babies and they all live in a trailer. I guess that’s good as it increases the family’s welfare check. Oh, all but one-of the sons; he lives in his truck that’s parked on their property. This pregnancy should have been terminated at 12 weeks and these bums should get jobs. We should not admire this family in any way. Other than Katie’s huge head, she looks starving to death. Her legs and arms are like sticks, and she is FILTHY. Watch other videos of her. The mother gets Katie ready for “school.” She awakens her and dresses her in dirty leggings over a wet diaper. She didn’t change the diaper the kid slept in. No, Katie is not cute and her parents aren’t wonderful and loving. They’re lazy and ignorant.
Liberty Hussein Bell hey it’s just my opinion you dont have to waste your own time being against. Bruh just watch the video and understand. You might(i didnt say you would) not see the love, but dont be such a blind person to not see such a beautiful strong love that her family gives her. Ok, maybe it’s your opinion, but it kinda offends others about the long ass essay you wrote k?
Her family loves her and appreciates what she can do. Not all people are perfect. That doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be here. There is a purpose to her life.
ive seen many of my friends who are treated as if their parents dont want them to be born in the first place (and some even actually say that) to see a parent who really really have unconditional love for their kids is one of the best thing ever
Maybe this is a whole new condition altogether, and Katie’s the first person ever to have it. Maybe by the time I have kids, it’ll have a name and a way to treat it.
It really touches me how they love her more than some parents. I have heard stories of parents taking one look at their kids, then just abandoning them. God bless.
I would say that is hardly true in all cases, considering the hopeless, pain, depression, guilt, financial problems, and anger that many people with chronic medical problems, including myself, face. Sometimes, it may be better making due with what one has, rather than worry about any ongoing problems.
To all the abortion controversy: to abort or not a child it's their parents decision ONLY! Doesn't matter if the child is gonna survive one day or is perfectly health it's their parents decision!
thats what im saying, but other ignorant people try to stop you from doing what is YOUR choice. YOUR body, YOUR choice. stupid how they saying "abortion is murder!1!1!!!!" when you cant murder a clump of cells. people say abortion is murder but will willingly step on bugs
I agree. I feel like a lot of people who call themselves "pro-choice" seem to forget that it means not only respecting the mother's choice to have an abortion, but also the mother's choice to not
that's confusing so if i called you beautiful or pretty or wonderful you wouldn't care? you wouldn't feel happy or good? so if i called you disgusting ugly pathetic unintelligent piece of shit would you care or not? Every human being has an emotional affection to words. when you say something positive about someone it makes then feel good like giving someone a warm smile. if you say something negative about someone they will feel hurt or mad a negative emotion. This girl has emotion she feels and knows the things you say to her in some kind of understanding if its by the tone of your voice or just plain words.
I hope the owner of this video will disable the comment section. Heartless people everywhere. This family are being grateful about her child, try their best to make sure that their child happy, and you guys tells them to "let her die" and making fun about it. Remember that you can kill someone with your words, and if that happen, you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
(This is a message for everyone who liked this comment) Come on, if she knew while preganant that this child will always be dependant on others and won't live normal life yet still decided to give birth, it's cruel. Simply cruel for the girl. Stop cleaning your conscience with not aborting kids who will mainly suffer in this life. It makes you more of a monster. If there's a god or reancarnation she will get another chance, and if there's not, it's even more cruel to making her know only a life of pain. That's just facts, face them
@@kosamila4666 THANK YOU 👏 I don’t really support abortion (specifically when it’s a teenager aborting a perfectly healthy baby because of their own actions) but in times like these, it really is just plane cruel to keep them here. That girl will never experience true life. When she’s an adult she’ll probably spend the rest of her days in a care center because I don’t think any of her siblings would want to take her in and keep her in their homes.
IM DONE! I can't stand watching these videos with people with conditions and they can't speak! I want to learn sign language now, if I ever run into a person who can't speak, I want to be able to become there friend and talk to them! I don't want them to keep walking around with people who do nothing but give them looks because they cannot speak 😢 I encourage you, if you do not know sign language to learn it!
Just know ASL is diffrent from pse you cant just learn the signs for english words asl has word order and such. you need to take a class to learn it properly
Such an amazing and informational story. I seen the thumbnail and had to check it out because when i was in kindergarten (30yrs old now) there was a boy in my class exactly with the same symptoms. He had the seizures, was non verbal, multiple surgeries, and even had to have a trache since his face and neck rapidly grew. He also had issues with his toungue causing problems. This boy was in NC and was in my regular main stream class. He is 30 now (i assume)but i dont know if he still lives here, i switched schools and lost contact but he had the same surgeries and looks identical to her physically and of course medical record wise(as described in vis)- so there is one person out there that this little girl and family could relate to. I surely wish i could give this family that families info( if i had it or if id have went all the way through 12th grade with him) because i would just so these parents could have their concerns and questions answered from a parent that was going through the same thing 30 years and continue to because this is so rare. I just had to comment and hope this family sees this so they know there is another case that they maybe could glean info and support from. I think about my kindergarten peer alot through the years and even occassionally in my adult life because he was one of my good friends and i learned some sign language so we could communicate. One of the first friends i ever made and was such a sweet young man. He even came to my birthday parties and my siblings that year or two we attented same school. This case im referring to was in NC (graduating class of 2007) in tha largest county by area in NC(not specifically naming it for privacy reasons- but for those seeking answers or clarity it can be googled and images from yearbooks). Hope any one else that has this condition is helped by my comment since this seems to be very rare. I almost didnt have to watch the video to know exactly what they were going to say about this precious little girl because i already knew- which is odd but no coincidence since i believe everything happens for a reason.
I'm really tired of seeing all of these hate comments "she should have had an abortion" "she's not pretty" all of this stuff just because she looks different doesn't mean that she should have been aborted or is not beautiful it's like they said she has emotions, she is aware of her surroundings. Stop, just stop people that's their child. Think about it like this if you found out your daughter/ son was going to look different would you abort it. Just please stop people and think about what your preaching
Liam Safc that's your opinion but in the same sense hear me out. She has feeling and she does things and she knows what she is doing. She is not in pain all of the time she has happy times just like me and you. It would be cruel to make that stop
Aubry Smith Shes a child and as a child your unaware of these things, as she gets older she will most likely be bullied for her appearance , which can lead to suicide,im not being mean and i hope i get proven wrong but she will struggle to find somone looking as she does so i dont think its a fair life but i hope she does have an amazing life as she deserves it
You're delusional.. "Think about it like this if you found out your daughter/ son was going to look different would you abort it." Are you for real? she doesn't just look different, she can't fucking walk, she can't fucking talk, she can she probably can't dress herself, she can't eat, shes had more operations in her 9 years of life than you'll probably have in your entire lifetime.. She needs 24/7 care for christ sake...
Liam Safc and I do understand where you are coming from but it's is the same with any disability people will be idiots and be mean but people get bullied for everything everyday, wearing makeup, not have the right clothing. Stupid things like that so I do believe that they should give her the choice to overcome it or not
When you have a “bad day” please keep it in perspective. The suffering other people go through can be enormous. And please...teach your children to be kind. Smile and say hello to people who look different. Usually they are lonely and their hearts ache because people stare and make cruel remarks. Teach your kids to walk right up and make a friend. Their life, and your life, will be richer because of it. I promise.
Love isn't about looks people are so cruel ...your baby is beautiful never listen to anyone who says different GOD HAS GREAT PLANS FOR HER....❤❤❤❤❤ GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!
Maybe this girl is the first with this, to help science. It’s so disgusting how many people are in these comments making nothing but nasty comments. Grow up. Shut up. God is funny, never wish anything on anyone’s child, or future children, but watch it.
Katie is a happy little girl who has a big personality. I loved watching her playing and cuddling with her family. She is a real little treasure. Bless you little one, I hope you have a long and happy life. X
There are so many varying comments. This is a beautiful little girl, living HER life, living the existence she knows. She has such a big and loving family! They are amazing and she is truly a blessing.
I hope Katie gets a diagnosis, I can’t imagine how hard it is to treat a patient when you don’t know what to tears. What a sweet soul she is though, she’s lucky to have such a great support system in her family! I hope Katie has a long happy life!
I find it very cruel to let someone who has a severe medical condition that can't be cured and that it's going to cause a lot of suffering for them and for their families live. Wanting someone else to live in pain just so that you can be with them is selfish! but then again, this is just my opinion.
Are you serious? What about all the children suffering with cancer or epilepsy or physical disability? Should we just end their lives? This little girl has quality of life and her own personality.
+Emma Fennell Before commenting some random bs read carefully... I talked about those who have a SEVERE medical condition that CANNOT be cured and that it will ALWAYS make them SUFFER for the rest of their lives... the cases you mentioned weren't in my intention at all, plus I know how a child with cancer feels because I was diagnosed with it when I was younger.
asaratkhandr unfortunately not everyone thinks the way we do, and they would let their loved ones live and suffer their entire lives rather than provide them the peace they need and deserve. What's going to happen when they just can't take the pain anymore?
José Correia It’s an interesting point but remember it’s also subjective. I’m severely disabled and some people would hate to be like me - so they tell me! However I tell them my life is perfectly wonderful and I live life to the full despite having multiple severe restrictions and constant pain. I’m really glad no one has ever decided to medically stop treating me!
Well i mean if we didn't focus on the babies surviving then there would be less humans so in a way I think we should really focus on the babies because they are the next generation also it's very cruel and disheartening when you die at birth.
She seems like a happy kid, so I don't see why people should stop helping her survive. If she was in constant pain, having no enjoyment in life, then it would be a different story.
people saying "i would have terminated the pregnancy" - literally who asked you? and its cruel considering the family could read this, honestly, cant some of you get a grip of yourselves
Exactly! I get that some people would have made the choice to abort, but this family clearly didn't! Why would anyone talk about how a child should be dead? How heartless can a person be?
Well, I would have terminated if it was me because she is suffering and she's in alot of pain so...I wouldn't want her to suffer her entire life, ya know....not heartless, rather concerned about the child. The option is: terminate so she doesn't have to suffer, or live with pain allllll through her life? If you were the mother with this option, or even the CHILD, would YOU want to suffer?
This section is for comments and people are allowed to have an opinion if you like it or not. What kind of life is this child going to have? If this was your child, then you tell other people they're wrong.
I think she should definitely live... She is alive and happy. She plays. She is aloud to live. It’s the parents decision, and they fight for it. She s happy. She’s a fighter and she’s strong.
No... No she won't. Her learning capabilities and social abilities have been damaged beyond repair. Thats like saying "Woah... that fish with feelings will do some good in the world"
@Pet Rock I'm pretty sure Skoda130 is just stating that her skin looks different from the condition that she has, they never said anything harmful or really did imply anything negative, they are just making an observation.
I honestly can't imagine what she's going through. First you've this condition that's already affecting your brain, then a growth condition that means surgery after surgery...to be honest, I wonder if she has enough cognition to understand what's happening and if she's in pain. And moreover, I wonder what's going to happen to her when she grows up. Even if they fix the growth condition, she's still going to have a life reliant on the aid of other people, whether it's her family or others. Is that really a life? I'm not sure... I agree it was the parents' choice, and that's a really hard choice when it comes to a human life. But...I don't know. I think I would've made a different decision. The idea of putting a child through all of this...gah. What an awful situation for all involved.
@MIA MCCORMICK though as rude as it may be, they have a point. Her personality truly seems adorable and the definition of a little Angel but claiming that her looks are...cute, is just a lie. Not only to her, but yourself. Though it doesn’t really matter, I find it’s better to be beautiful on the inside than the outside
Iam a full grown man , that always complaining, about life in general , but seeing this beautiful little soul , makes me so a shame ,and I just want to say thank you for showing the world just how blessed we are ,thank you , take care of my little hero
God bless you for living this little one and giving her life. We live in a world where people who are different are snuffed out in the womb before they get a chance.
And how many profoundly disabled children have you adopted? My guess is none. A lot of these children are in profound pain and suffer needlessly. Instead of leaving stupidly cruel comments, why don't you study the word "grace."
I'm so thankful she has a kind & loving family. We are not the type of family who could make her life happy. Because, we are not jovial people in general.
@@dumbgayenby Dude idek if u meant that in a good or bad way, but I didn't say shes beautiful because she is unique, she has her own beauty. Just in case u misunderstood.
@NAD SNATCHER ooooh...ooh okey i get it now... Okey yeah thats what the person wrote was really not okey. I didn't even noticed that somone else commeted
Do this condition causes severe autism, mental retardation, seizures, paralysis on one side of the body, etc. She can't communicate or transport herself. This woman is clearly using her to make HERSELF happy. She states that her daughter is happy, that she loves life, she reads into things by saying she intentionally booby traps the house when it's probably just her dropping things. She's convinced herself that there's someone in there and that they're happy when she has no evidence of it whatsoever because she can't deal with the alternative. That's not fair to the child. It doesn't matter if it's hard on your feelings, you always put your kid's feelings first. You can't do anything to improve the life and odds of a kid you've convinced yourself doesn't have the problems she has. This woman is refusing to live in reality and is likely causing a child to suffer. That's the unpleasant truth.
This will sound horrible to some and especially to the family if they ever read this but I still feel it must be said. When my dog was nearly 17 she had sezuires and was starting to lose her mind. We COULD of kept her around longer, after all she did have good days. However we made the most painful decision to youthanize her. Now I'm not trying to say Katie is a lesser being (I actually believe all life human or otherwise is all just as equally important) but my point is we made the best decision for her. How many times does this kid have to have seizures before her family does the same for her?
some people may condemn you but i see where you're coming from. there comes to a point where this little girl's love for life gets overshadowed by her constant pain. it's only a matter of time where her suffering becomes too much
Every soul is beautiful. Our bodies are not who we truly are. Our bodies are just vessels to allow us to live this life on Earth. But eventually, all good souls will rejoice again, without the imperfections of the material world. Bless you, Katie.
