Craig. Take it from a guy who's been married 40 years. When your wife hands you food she's made, you don't complain about it. Dude. Seriously. I love your videos and your quirky personalities. You both seem like people my wife and I would love to hang out with. Looking forward to this Alaska trip.
I love that you guys eat like most people instead of doing the ultra healthy stuff most youtubers pretend to survive on. It is more relatable and more honest.
Wow thank you so much!! and welcome! We're happy to have you joining in on our adventures 😄 And the doggos KNOW they're cute too... they think they can get away with anything! lol
Your refreshing escape in 'Our Glamping Dome Getaway (break from RV living)' is truly inspiring. Your ability to find solace and adventure in unique accommodations reflects a deep appreciation for exploration and relaxation. Your videos capture the allure of unconventional travel experiences with warmth and enthusiasm. And I am Floating Village Life
You two crack me up! So fun to watch you have these new experiences. For someone who doesn't own an RV, I'm sure the yurt would be a great way to get away. I, on the other hand, will stick to my campervan. Craig, you do a great job editing the videos!
I guess Craig was never a boy scout. LOL. We had a wood stove like that one that we used to heat our whole house. It did a pretty good job, too. Lovely spot to vacation. Thanks for the video!
haha we had a wood burning fireplace in our old house, but neither of us had ever done anything with a wood stove. It definitely did the job of warming things up! Thank you for watching!
Stoves have a feature called a damper. I am not sure you found it. Generally when fire is visually going up the chimney the damper is open. The heat will fly out the chimney.
@@wildrvlife After the fire is going strong you close the damper to stop heat going straight out the flue. Only open it to add wood. It saves your wood supply from burning so fast, and the heat radiates out through the stove. Fuel burns slower and the stove is hotter.
I think we drove right by Bragg Creek on our way to/from Calgary. Now we get to see what we missed! Also, the dome looked super relaxing. I feel like I need a "forced to unplug" getaway. 😅 - K
Very cute dome! The scenery was very pretty and peaceful. The little strip mall where you had dinner then ice cream was pretty cool. Ice cream looked yummy! Can't wait till next week! Maybe we will get to see you interact with Joseph and Kalyn ??? Stay safe and have fun 👍
It was a lovely little getaway and yes! Next week starts our trip up to the Alcan so you'll be seeing more of Joseph and Kalyn - although admittedly at first we'll be spending a lot of time in our own vehicles just driving the Alcan lol... it's soooo long!
@wildrvlife Boy Scout recipe: Chopped taters, bell peppers, tomatoes and bologna wrapped in foil and buried in the fire. Bisquick poked with a stick and fill with grape jelly also wrapped in foil. Tag me if ya try it! lol
I grew up in Maine with a wood stove. It was our only source of heat. I remember getting up at 530 to fill it up so I could get dressed for school where it was warm.
I've always enjoyed a real wood burning fireplace and the wood stove was a great experience too. Very cozy! Although I'm sure getting up early to fill it wasn't always so enjoyable 😅
Bragg Creek is a hop skip & jump from Calgary & my stomping grounds. It was pretty wild to have you shoot areas of Elbow falls that I had taken still shots of! The ice cream shop is cool too, candy & ice cream, can’t go wrong with that! That area is truly beautiful & any month of the year you could have all 4 seasons! It’s the joy of living in the foothills of the Rockies.
You guys are so much fun to watch!! Thank you for taking us all along on your adventures! And we learn a ton! In fact, we have a quick question! We recently bought a bike rack for our Lectric bikes. Do you recommend a specific bike "travel cover" that works well?
Fun video guys!!! I think you’re right, your rig is more glamping then the dome!! Totally get the weird weather thing. We were in Coeur d'Alene today and had sun, rain and hail all in the same hour!!! So Victoria, you can tell me. Craig has the pallet of a toddler doesn’t he? Like chicken nuggets shaped like dinosaurs and juice boxes… right? Safe travels guys! Looking forward to what’s next!
Loved the video!! You two are taking us to great towns, amazing scenery, food and fun. Leland and Maverick also seem relaxed in the Yurt 🐾🐾🙌💛💛💛💛 Stay safe!!
I don't think I see you in there actually. Did you sign up for the Circle community? Email me at wildrvlife@gmail.com with your email address and I can try to look it up that way.
Well, that was a cool getaway. Thanks for sharing. I agree that living in the Brinkley is a higher level of glamping than he off-grid dome. I really like when you show the menu at the restaurants. I helps us see what the costs are doing (how much higher they keep going). Please feel free to linger a little longer over the menu so we can check it out. 🙂
That is a good point! I'll have to try and include it more often (remember this was Canada so those were in CAD), but I can definitely relate on the 'keep going higher' part 😅
I think every Floridian should visit Canada at least once in their life, not knowing anything about a natural fire place or how to set up a camp stove is just common knowledge for us Canadians. Also if the BBQ lighter runs out of gas you should still be able to use the igniter part to light the stove. Plus you also had matches at your disposal. Looks like you managed to get it figured out regardless.
Well, it turns out using the same technique we used in our wood burning fireplace that we had in our house in Florida basically worked just as well for a wood burning stove. Granted, we never let our fireplace burn through the night because that isn't really safe 😅 But, we do use BBQs in Florida too, by the way. I (Victoria) don't usually, but it's ok, that's why I've got Craig lol
Cool you guys 👍 loved the personal tour Victoria 😂this is the off grid sink and 12 volt power then the dreaded outhouse 😂 gotta say though cleanest one I’ve ever seen. You guys are fun and Craig the outdoors man 😂 loved the episode looking forward to next week. Oh and the modeling of your wild life RV merchandise do you design any of your outfits Victoria ? Thanks again ❤
I have always wondered what it looked like in one of the glamping domes. There are three on the way to the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park that I have driven past several times.
Yes, he gets mistaken for an Aussie all the time! He's a red merle border collie, which is why he's got that coloring... and then he's just chunky because he loves food more than Leeland lol
Hope all understand its like that for bears. Not little Goldie locks bears. Fresh out hyphenation will eat anything. Remember they will tare your vehicles apart for something as simple piece candy. Better get some bear spray. Don't look bear aware.
It would probably be very nice for somebody in a car but not my cup of tea when I have my comfy home on wheels with all the comfort things I need and want.
You two be sure to take a sign with you to hang in the "sign forest" in Watson Lake Yukon........it is right on the Alaska highway or "the alcan" as everyone calls it..........also stop at "mile 0" of the alaska highway in Dawson Creek............take pictures..........you wont regret it..............Boyd Joni and Brndon.........Kelowna BC
I definitely enjoy the video. Isn't that dome house called a yurt? I was also wondering if the fireplace had a vent to control the heat? Beautiful little town and the Italian restaurant looked good too. I hope you have a great week and safe travels.
Leave to me to bring up something negative. Sorry! But, I gotta ask…are there no bears up there? I don’t believe that dome is bear proof, and your delicious smelling Chinese food (with the mushy broccoli 🤭) might be tempting for a bear!!! Don’t get me wrong, because I absolutely LOVE the idea of being off grid on that river. But, I’d be laying there wide awake, bear spray in hand…ALL NIGHT!!! Maybe I’m just a paranoid city girl🤷🏻♀ GLAD YOU’RE SAFE!!!
You know, I didn't really think too much about how bear proof the domes were, but now you've got me thinking of that part where we both heard "something" outside 😬😳
I'm not totally sure what this is in reference to, but yes! They love our home on wheels, getting to move to new places and experience new smells all the time.
The kettle stays on top of the stove. The stove drys things out, and the kettle adds humidity to the air. Also, Craig stop being such a grump. You've got it made with this wife of yours.
Because we wanted to, and on our channel we share about our full time travel life. This week that included a break from the RV in a glamping dome. It wasn’t sponsored (we would have disclosed if it were), but obviously you can skip any video of ours that doesn’t appeal to you 😄
Welcome to Canada and to my backyard when you your were on your way thru to Kootenai National park You drove thru the town I live in Cranbrook BC I grew up in Edmonton the capital of Alberta but spent many years in the Calgary area the area's you have visited so far I know well I've camped hiked and skied all the area's also in the USA If you get a chance go to Calgary and check out the Calgary Zoo oh be Bear aware there are black bears and grizzlies in the area
