If you set the valve lash at 0 when the engine is hot it will fire right up every time and run strong when it heats up the lash opens on those engines so you’ll lose a little lift to make up for the lost lift if you can or know how to pre load the valve lash to 0.003 you’d have max lift when the engine gets hot

You probably know this, but hit the gas a little sooner coming out of turns, its a gas engine so it takes a second to get up to speed. Makes a huge difference.

They have some motorcycle races on that track also. You should get a flattrack bike and give it a whirl.

Sorry Joshua for the bad luck but you seem to be improving with each outing. The shot of you slipping through the two spinning karts was the greatest moment of the video. Hang in there. Better days are coming. Great Job Mr. Dave! you're getting him dialed in. Wish I would have had you around when I raced karts.

Trail braking into the corner to set the kart can be fast. If done properly. I noticed you go to hopping in the corners. From the tires gripping and then loosing traction. To me your running two low of a air pressure in your tires.

Good run Joshua... --- mechanical issues take ya out sometimes, it's racing. Mr. Dave and his granddaughter done an outstanding job --- really looks like he had ya hooked up. Next time may be better. If you could Josh can you tell us what the motor specs are for that class. Looks like both the non hemi and hemi predator are legal for starters. Any modifications allowed ?

once you get comfortable at racing you should go to Kentucky at pondarosa and race the insane one for 50,000$ you never know you might win and that race is all about the tires well most races are about how you prep. you tires

I see you are entering and exiting the corners a lot better and are running the others down and making passes, good deal, now you need to work on your nerves, lol, put it in there, remember they use to bump you outta the way, I'm not saying bump them, but put it in there, let'em know your there, inside and or outside, the only place you can't pass is Where they are at, all the rest is fare game, your doing good, Oh and Thank Mr Dave,,,

yeah i dont see how your getting enough nose% with that nuch weight bolted that high on the seat, if you need all of it move it down along the sides of the seat at your hips

I've found when my kart starts to be hard to start I change the spark plug then it starts good

If you’ll stop lifting, an just touch the brake... you’ll have a more positive acceleration out of the corner as the clutch won’t be trying to unlock and lock. Your clutch maintenance will be less as well. Just my .02$. Great vids. Keep up the good work.

ml2trick-T.W it’s the way I always did it on the rightish tracks that need some help setting the nose an scrubbing some speed. I’ve never commented but that just killed me knowing that’s more than likely what could have kept those two behind him. It seems like very little but it’s huge on the clock.

Looks like to me you driving to hard in the corners and then when the kart gets upset you lift, maybe try to lift right before the kart gets upset and I think that will help. But you do look like your getting better.

Mishue is a good engine, but personally I don't trust them, I've run Waller for awhile and they have never given me a problem.

can you not use a battery powered starter or the does the rules make you use the pull starter ?

Shifttube no one at the track uses one, so I assume it’s not allowed and/or not worth the extra weight on the kart

@@Joiner1056 A lot of kart guys in the modified classes around here use an external starter box. It's basically just a starter motor with a socket extension welded on and a battery attached. They stick it through a hole in the shroud to spin the motor over and then remove it so there's no added weight. When the engines are super built up and the stock compression relief mechanism is removed it's the only safe way to start them. Most "stock" clone classes don't allow or require them though.

Idk what kinda engines you’re running but the ones I ran would break your damn shoulder if ya tried to pull it like that...seems that ya have maybe a clutch issue too cuz the starts are awful? Get ahold of Joe Badger on FB & ask him about his clutches they’re the best around

Been there done that. I use to race karts in Waverly Nebraska and my first night out I locked up my 19.5 hp open motor in the A feature. Needless to say to get a new rod, piston and to have the cylinder sleeved it cost me a pretty little penny. If you’re looking for quality kart parts, Uncle Franks out of Omaha Nebraska has great stuff, they even lent me a blue wazoom to use while they rebuilt my engine. I used them for everything I needed.
