Thank You Karen for sharing your fibroid surgery. I also had this surgery during the past summer. My stomach was distended to appear pregnant-I’m way past childbearing age. And yes received comments…Long story short, my fibroid removal came with a unexpected surprise-cancer cells were attached😳. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments to insure it has been totally eliminated. I meant to write when you mentioned this in your news letter. Karen, thanks for sharing your story. Information regarding women's health is never TMI in my opinion. In my day ( I am 70) everything regarding women's health was hush hush and so many of us lived in ignorance of our bodies. I remember reading 'Our Bodies, Our Selves', it was eye-opening. Glad you're feeling better, and great to see Michael doing his thing, I love both of your hauls. I had fibroids, and yes, mine burst in the middle of teaching my students; they were so good and helped to notify another teacher, who drove me to the hospital. I had surgery (embolisation) and have been fine ever since. I hope you don't have to go through this again; keep well.

I also suffered from fibroids “everywhere” even outside of my uterus with the same symptoms that you complained of and ended up having surgery as well. I appreciate you sharing this personal journey. I am so glad that you had a good resolution to your fibroid problem! Kudos for taking care of your health. In 1988 I underwent surgery to have a fibroid cyst removed, and it turned out to be ovarian cancer that would have gone undiagnosed if I had ignored it. My treatment was successful. Women typically ignore things for too long because we get very busy. I am very happy that you are feeling better. I enjoy your channel very much.

Fibroid “hoarder” here, in my “knockers”, on ovaries, in my uterus, so I feel you😵‍💫 and I am so happy for you that you got yourself to the doctor and had them removed❤ I’ve been through the lot! 3 Miscarriages,, bleeding like Niagara falls, fainting and being generally dizzy and ditsy from chronic anemia, the ridiculous pains, the constant swollen (hard!) stomach, pressing places to be able to go, internal scar tissue spreading and fusing everything together, 2 pregnancies that kept me in hospital for 4 months with my son and finally 7 months in total with my daughter, which almost cost me my life and ended in an emergency hysterectomy. It was horrendous, BUT the hysterectomy turned out to be blessing and it seems to have had a positive effect on my decades long battle with fibroids👍🏼 AND no more periods! Weeheee!!🙌🏼😁🎉 So, as you say, if anyone has these symptoms , don’t linger. Go to the doctor and if it IS fibroids,get them removed. Its lifechanging☺👍🏼

I can certainly relate to the fibroid tumors as I had them for many years, prior to menopause. My life literally revolved around my very heavy cycles and the discomfort. I wanted to have them removed, but I was scared of losing my uterus as I wanted to have children. Miraculously, I had one child and I went full term. No problems or issues. I continued with heavy periods, which had gotten worse after my pregnancy. Again, I was scared of surgery and then I got breast cancer. Breast surgery had to be delayed because my iron levels were horrible. I was exhausted in every way imaginable. I'm now in menopause and cancer free. But those fibroids were the worst. It was only by the grace of God, that I got through all of it. Take care of yourself and I hope your journey with fibroids is over for good.

Karen - glad u took care of things & had a wise doctor - I suffered with endometriosis for years & it exploded one of my ovaries. I also had people ask if I was pregnant in an excited for me way, which only made me sadder. A word to all women, if ur doctor is not successful at taking care of you, get another opinion for your treatment!

Wow...I'm sorry to hear about your surgery. But I too had Fibroids, my stomach got bigger too and my Dr at initial glance said "I was probably pregnant"...until a negative pregnancy test and a sonogram was done. An x-ray showed that it was fibroids. The biggest fibroid that was removed was the width of a 12" ruler, I have a picture of it. I ultimately had to have a hysterectomy and my incision was a vertical from the top of my belly button down. I 100% agree, we need to pay attention to our bodies and stay on top of our health.

First, yove the video of you and Michael! I just love you all! Second, I'm having a hysterectomy this coming Wednesday due to the same issue. Never knew I had them until I got pregnant with my twins in 2018. Only had 3 at the time and one of them did burst during the pregnancy. I can testify to that pain being awful! 2020 more pain, ultrasound done. Now there were 7 fibroids. Doctor not too concerned. 2022, more pain and now there were 8 firbroids and one growing and my uterus has doubled in size. All this and extremely heavy cycles finally getting surgery. I definitely am huge on advocating for yourself. Thank you for sharing your life and journey!

I’m glad you’re doing better. I had fibroids so bad, my left leg buckled under and fell. Fibroids had cut off a nerve and blood flow wasn’t going to that leg. Ain’t that something how the body works or doesn’t work with such a small group of growths. Needless to say I had a hysterectomy.

I had the same surgery a few years ago and a few smaller ones. It's a never ending story. It gets better but they grow again and only if you are very lucky they will not cause any symptoms. I have two growing in my uterus that can't be completely removed. When you enter in perimenopause and as you get closer to the menopause everything gets worse because of the hormone inbalance. If you suffer from fibroids or endometriosis, you might also have fibrocystic breast. It's all about estrogen. Make your own research how to supplement with iodine and selenium. It helps.

my mum had a huge cyst growing in her womb i think it's the same as what you are saying, she had this feeling of always needing the toilet... the nhs drs didn't listen to her, they said it was in her imagination and refused to do a scan... she went to her family country - Tunisia and had scans and found out that she had this huge cyst and got it removed... i hope you're feeling ok now and not too worried about it coming back, unfortunately these things tend to linger. take care Karen

Love Michael! He is always so happy. We know he is not that much into clothing. The way he throws the clothes aside says it all. SO funny! Of course he loves the way Karen dresses herself. But he is more the practical one.

Fibroids destroyed every city holiday for me. I had to find a bathroom every 20 minutes because of the urge to pee. I thought the heavy periods were normal. After a hysterectomy my life changed so much for the better. Best decision I ever made. The recovery after surgery went really well even though I had open surgery. Do your research and find the best option for surgery together with your doctor. I should add that I had 2 children before the hysterectomy. But there are other options for treating fibroids. Do not suffer in silence ladies. ❤
