range of estimates - large companies shut me down with high nimbers $85k as if they really didn't want to take to time for such a small project unless I was willing to pay while this smaller contractor with very good recomendations and well established history was at 50k. SHop carefully and check out their work before you employ them.

the closet is 6x10. The little room beyond that was an existing small room with the water heater inside and a deep freezer. We needed to raise the floor so all were on the same level.

We could have done it as a slab pouring the whole floor however we would had to step down as you walk into the room. To keep the floors at the same level as the rest of the house it needed to be raised.

In that area we made a large storage closet which also housed a large freezer as well as a large safe.

3months including alot of wait time for permits.

I am very sorry to say he has passed away a few months ago. It was a small family owned business. I only hope you can find someone as competent and honest as him.

He said 50k with a good recommend contractor but other quotes could be higher. Hope this helps. I'm watching this over and over for love everything about the home and additions. I also want to add a bathroom and room.

highest quote was $85K however we got it done by a small but good recommended contractor for $50K it is 16 X 20 with bay window a large storage closet within. A storage bench around the bay window built on site in walnut and shelving in the closet. Electric and duct work for HVAC included.

Wow, and I thought an additional was around $30k, I totally underestimated.

@@ashton8878 I suppose it really depends on where you live, Also what is included. i.e. extending the hvac , Electric permits inspections etc my number was all include beware of ALL costs in the estimate bottom line.

@@Hsteins100 hi nice addition! we are thinking of adding two bedrooms and a bathroom to our already finished addict by lifting up the roof from back to front of the house (cape cod house). Did your contractor have finance option? There is no way we can pay by cash..

50k. He said it 4 times lol
