They often splurge on business class it seems which would -realllly- help. For me the worst thing is the seats, I find it impossible to sleep.

if you fly business class or first class (which they often, if not always do) then it is very easy to survive a 20 hour flight. the seating make a massive difference

Economy class here! :D My tips would be: 1. If possible, get an aisle seat so you can stretch your legs and go to the toilet without asking people all the time 2. Stay hydrated - drink a lot of water, don't eat the salty snack given out, but ask the flight attendant for fruits. They usually have some apples at the back along with snacks and cup noodles. It will make you feel so much better and refreshed having a bite of juicy apple than feeling salty and dry. 3. Have a sheet mask with you - once it gets dark on board I usually put a face mask for a 20-minute-spa treatment in mid-flight. I help me to cool down on the face and relax a bit more in an uncomfortable seat. 4. Study your flight so you know what to expect in terms of aircraft, food etc. There are few flight-related channels that help me to prepare: I see food I won't really like, I can then check my other options or do I need to stuff myself earlier and just eat the basics. Same for the aircraft type - where are the toilets, how big are the seats, how seats move up and down; this way you can find the best value for money seat. 5. Check if credit card you own provides any lounges - for frequent flying a little extra yearly fee can get you a lot of extras like uber credit, cashback, extra miles or access to lounges so it may turn out you saved money (using all the benefits given by the card) and got some extra comfort between the flights!
