We had three milk cows and always fed them in the stanchions, it encouraged them to get in their quick and to behave

to your channel and I am so enjoying them. I love the fact that you younguns are keeping the old ways and raising your children in the lifestyle. I married in early 80's and had an aunt to teach me canning and her ways of keeping house. It was the best thing I ever learned. Still use the old ways today. I got upped noses from my age group as they thought me too old fashioned for them.

Love watching you guys,,, you are real !!! It's like watching my son and beautiful daughter in law. The work a homestead too. This is real country living. People don't buy wood shavings for the chicken coop so that the chickens and eggs stay clean,,,!!!! No! You give them the produce from the garden and use the hay from the floor of the barn to line the nesting box. My kids can their deer meat too . That's just real life !!!! We finally got a shower of rain.. but gone already and not enough to fill a bucket.. but it will green it up a little.. We have had fires around the area..we had a bad one in February and we are still recovering from it.. but you just keep going.. Farmers not far away are asking for feed and water, or someone to take their cattle before they die... it's so sad..no good rain for 12 months now.. some areas worse.. Will certainly be praying for rain for all who need it.. for animals and food.... Sadly the city folk... just turn on a tap and waste so much, and have no idea how important and valuable it is.. God bless you all...much love from Australia

No rain over in Eastern NC either. We're picking up our pecans right now and half of them are empty. We really needed a good couple of tropical storms to come through back in August and September, but it didn't happen. Y'All have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Happy thanksgiving. It’s definitely a busy time of year. Hopefully those fires go out soon. We’re supposed to have rain here for the next few days in the middle of NC, not sure about ur area. Everyone seems to be clearing land(burning piles) and burning fields around here, I have medical issues which cause me a lot of pain when I’m around any VOC which includes smoke. It’s been a rough fall. I’m ready for summer again
