Thank you so much Audra for the request, I too am sadden by all the turmoil in this world today, and I speak with my heavenly father everyday. I lost my guy of 32 years to heart failure in March, so it has been difficult being so alone, but I have God to keep me going and people like the Brown's in this world. My Pa would of called that southern hard pine. He always said keep it where can dry itself off , last 100 years or more. Durning the war he trained in Tennessee area. Seen much of it then. Can tell you folks are truly in Love & have weathered many a storm in your life's . Cabin is beyond beautiful & practical. As a man that's spent few hours in a kitchen, love that galley kitchen. I so enjoyed this. One thumbs up is not enough. Praise God you folk have started sharing thru what to me is truly a miracle . Just think, when ya grew up with a party line & can remember when they brought in a black rotary phone for mom to use. This is a miracle. May God Continue to bless you folks. Miss Lori & Mr. Brown !!!!!!!

This is exactly what we're doing! When we realized we could save $80,000 a year in an RV, we figured that'd be plenty to buy a 10 acre homestead and build a small cabin!

That's what we did it's also easier living on the land while building. We always had big houses until we rented a apartment after relocating to a new state. 800 sq.ft. After a year of living in a small space we both agreed it was crazy having a large place. Best of luck on your new adventure I'm sure you will love it!

Oh my goodness, just magical!! THIS is how all humans should live. So grateful the world has finally seen the veil and so many of us are selling our homes to buy land and homesteads so we can raise our children the way we should be and be self-reliant. In this time of chaos, its people like you that really make a difference and trigger the inner knowing of our roots and what changes must be made. No matter how much money we make, having less and living this way is worth way more than all of that. Thank you for all you do xo

I completely agree with you, Miss Danielle! This is how we should all be living, being self-sufficient, being together as a family, with, I pray, the Lord at the center of our lives! Finally, raising our children with the understanding of a little bit of hard work and what it means to play in the great outdoors instead of always having their face buried in a playstation or I-phone. I pray every day that I will be blessed to have this life someday but since I'm pushing 60 and disabled with a bad back, sadly, it's probably not in the cards for me

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you all decorated your home!!! I love the comealongs hanging from the cross-beams. I can feel the love, warmth, peace, and joy in every part of your home. ♡ This is a dream home for me. I grew up spending most of my childhood years staying with my grandma. She lived literally off-grid and your cabin reminds me a lot of hers. That bathroom sink reminds me of my summertime outdoor baths I used to take in a tub just like it. My grandmother wasn't Amish, but she grew up living right beside an Amish community, and she learned so many wonderful things from them. I wish I still had her here with me as an adult to teach me even more than she did.

God Bless you both, Mr and Mrs Brown. I watched your tour of the guest house and I think it is the prettiest little, cozy space and now the tour of the main house....I love the decor of both so much. Both are just perfect. I can only imagine how magical it is with the smells of the cooking, baking, the flowers and the smell of wood burning. It must feel like Heaven to live there. I don’t know how you can go to work everyday and to have to leave your little paradise. Thank you for sharing so much, because whenever I need to go to a happy place, I go to your channel and I get to spend a little time with a wonderful husband and wife team that shows the world what love is all about and I feel blessed just getting a little taste of your lives. Yes, that comment really struck me too. I'm still praying my way through it all, but things are crazy fascist up here in Canada. They want to keep these masks and lockdowns going forever. I never thought I'd leave my country, but Idaho seems to be drawing us. We'll see down the road where the Good Lord wants us for sure. If we stay in Canada, w/ out Christian values and conservative, patriot ideals, we're likely to end up in a goolag. I wish I was exaggerating.

🙏nothing happened to ur homestead.I’m in Northern Indiana. Not sure where your location is.Were as for North in Indiana as u can go. 12 miles from Michigan border.really concerned with this crazy weather.Have family from the East coast to the west coast.Pray you & yours are not in harms way.

Thank you for the wonderful tour of your amazing cabin. I truly enjoyed it and learned a lot. I found it all so interesting, learning about the wood and how it works, reading the age rings, and the roof! I’m amazed. I used to stick to my father’s elbow as much as possible when he was making something or pouring cement so this was really interesting.

Yessss! I enjoyed the detail Mr Brown went into when he was outside the house showing the wood that was used. My dad did a lot of woodworking and I learned a lot but I still can't differentiate the various species (pine is easier though). Love your home, your property, the details y'all provide & the education so many people have never been exposed to. Oh & I really love that bathroom sink, too 😍 Keep on gardening & canning 😊

I just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed your video. It is very refreshing to see down-to-earth responsible people on youtube. Both of you have managed to carved out a life that makes you happy, and that is more important than any amount of money. What a great home you have.! I love all of the antiques and rustic pieces that make your space unique. When i watch you cook, i am intrigues by the utensils that you use. During this pandemic, because I don't have a washer and dryer, I washed my clothing and household goods the old fashioned way. In the bathtub. Years ago i bought a large folding clothes drying rack from the Amish. It truly came in handy. I love your bathroom sink! Thank you so much for the tour. What a wonderful home you have. On Amazon they sell portable washing machines. They will do loads 1o to 15 lbs. Around 100.00 and up. I use one in my cabin takes up very little room. Check them out!

I like your channel I like your house that you need to count yourself lucky that you had the money to build it I'm 60 years old and I would never have the money to build a home like that especially when you live on 700 a month so good for you that God's blessed you with that money and that home that you have.

Both of them work. They try to do as much frugally as possible. Yes some is luck, but a lot is hard work & saving. I too live on small amount each month. I am grateful I have what I have. God bless.

Hi Mr Brown and Mrs Lori, I love your house too. Your walls are like mine, I have pine walls, floors and ceilings and they’re all tongue and groove. I have clear stain on mine and it hasn’t yellowed here in Alabama, I guess it’s so hot here? We didn’t have it built tho, we bought it from a man that owned a lumber mill and built houses to sale. Thank you for your cabin tour, it's so beautiful, and decorated just like I like too. We're going to add a screened in back porch for a summer kitchen, maybe next summer. We thought we'd get it done this year then my husband has some major medical pop up, but he's healing well. The "Honey Do" list has to shift from time to time and we're just blessed to be getting projects done and keeping up with chores, animals and garden. Blessings to you and Mr. Brown from MT

I really loved the roofing & the wood! I like the yellowing of the inside wood! Love the little island eating area on the side of your kitchen counter! And of course everything is just so nicely decorated!! I'm originally from near Amish Country, PA, & love good, quality woodwork!! Bless y'all! 💖

I love that you didn’t just give us a walk through, but also took the time to give up the history and how to of the building materials and how it was raised! My husbands family are all Amish and Mennonite and all of the wooden furniture is Mennonite made. They do excellent work!
