As a Bills fan, I only approve of this name change because he signed the big extension and now no longer has a chance of being traded to my team where I was hoping to have a Josh Allen BOTH on Offense AND Defense! Pretty sure he could give us 13 seconds of defense a year and that's all we need.

Yes, he's certainly doing it to honour his family and it all has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that another player with the same name is far more well known and famous than him. All that getting referred to as the "other Josh Allen"? Yeah, that's a coincidence. He's changing his name to honour his sisters and that and that alone is the reason. lol Poor guy is basically Michael Bolton from Office Space and he just said "you guys can call me 'Mike'."
