In the live version I saw on stage, JD ends up screaming the final 'Our Love is God' like a maniac while Veronica looks out to the audience with an utterly terrified expression. I love being able to listen to this version over and over again, but I certainly miss that manic touch

Moss Tail I JUST WATCHED IT AND SHE LOOKS SO TERRIFIED! When I listened to this I sort of thought she was still sort of on his side but when I watched it I finally realized that she’s getting scared of him and scared of trying to leave him. I wish in the soundtrack they could fully capture her fear or make her voice crack and not be as strong to show she’s getting more and more scared

I can't stand people criticizing that Veronica is the villain and she got away with whatever. If you watch the show, at the end, you can see that it's less of a warm embrace when they sing "our love is god" at the end, and more of him standing behind her threateningly and her struggling and shaking and freaking out but not disagreeing because she's seen what this psycho can do. It's a damagin, abusive relationship she's in.

At the very end when Veronica is singing, it sounds like she’s singing “Our love is gone.” She’s realizing that JD is crazy and that their love is disappearing. On the flip side, JD is saying that “they died because we said they must,” as all these killings were for Veronica. Chandler died because she ruined Veronica’s reputation, and Kurt and Ram were trying to force V into a threesome. Even the blowing up of the school was for Veronica, and JD knows that, but Veronica is now realizing it. This song is so layered and detailed, and I love it.

One of my favorite things about this song is the way JD says "we" when he is about to kill Kurt. That very thing shows that not only does he have a total God complex, it's not just him he has the God complex for, it's him and Veronica. It's such a chilling song. +Julianna Miller I know!! I agree with you completely, although I see the ending as Veronica trying to convince herself that everything is fine. She repeats "our love is God" with JD as to make it true and to legitimate or forget their murder. Do I make any sense? ;)

A nice little detail i just noticed is that the first time jd talks about the dinosaurs he says "they died because god said they must" But then when he kills kurt and ram and sings the dinosaurs line he says "they'll die because WE say they must", jd isn't doing this just because they hurt Veronica's feelings, he enjoys this, in the movie during this scene he's frustrated with Veronica missing the shot completely but here he barley mentions it, because either way they're going to die and he's going to enjoy it, it makes him feel strong, powerful, it makes him feel like god.
