Search the Bible. "Thou shalt not drink alcohol!" Isn't a commandment! Don't be a "DRUNKARD or a GLUTTON!" IS a commandment. Over indulgence in "ANYTHING" is a sin. Alcohol has destroyed many lives! False Judgment has destroyed more!
The Bible does not say thou shalt not drink alcohol. Jesus himself drink wine and turned water into wine. Paul told Timothy to have a little bit of wine to settle his stomach. It does say that drunkards shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. But drinking does not make you a drunkard. I will get a craving to drink about maybe one time a year and all I will have is a glass of diet Coke and rum or diet Coke and whiskey.
True...but the discussion here is about "drunkenness" not "gluttony..." there are plenty of teachings you can find warning a person against that as well 🤷♂️
It is a sin also to eat to much. I was an alcoholic but the Lord helped me so much. Couldn't do it myself. Also smoking. God took that away. That was amazing. To me both were a miracle to be free of them. We have a mighty god.
I completely agree with our precious brother John, but I guess I'll have to admit that I'm a little weak in my stomach like Timothy and drink a little wine often. What's really interesting is that I'll be having some "new wine" with Jesus when I come to be with him in his kingdom. I guess some of our brothers will not participate, but I personally will. For those of you who need a verse, here it is: "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it with you, new, in My Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:29 BTW, Jesus was NOT referring to grape juice.
I’m from alcoholic family 😞 🍹📿✨👥👤🗣.. since my dad died last yr I been drinking everyday tbh everytime I go to liqour store I know god and the angels be seeing me 👀! Smh it’s just messed up because we can’t hide our sins from them I can feel they be looking and it makes me look weak cuz I’m only a human n sometimes I have to go buy it cuz it make me feel gud . But it’s bad ! And I know the Bible I just can’t stop going to get the 🍾. I be fighting my own dam self everyday it’s so crazy
Having the conviction to not drink alcohol is fine, but trying to make it a doctrine is where people go wrong.Abstenence is fine, but temperance is the fruit of the spirit.
It's drunkenness that is sin "drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God." If being drunk is more important to a Christian than the Kingdom, than clearly something is wrong.
Alcohol is a euphemism for anything that pollutes the mind. It could be your job, your hobby, food, drugs, porn, your marriage partner, your own body, even your children. We have the capacity to elevate all these things and more to the place that should be reserved for God alone. I know I’m guilty of multiple infractions in this regard. Lord I’m trying to cleanse my temple…. We both know I can’t do it without You. Thank you for Your grace and mercy.
First of all I want to tell you.I love you pastor, But I have to correct a few things here Number one alcohol. Levels of 18% Through the process of fermentation and also there is proof of destination thousands of years ago. It is easy to find the information. That is why I believe strong drink in the bible was actually distilled. I agree with Everything else in this teaching And you are spot on with the truth as usual Thank you
I choose not to drink. I don’t want to be a stumbling block to others. Additionally, Jesus gives me everything I need. I want to strive for holiness, not worldliness.
I believe firmly that Believers who are serious about always hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and Fellowshipping with Him, firstly will not have any desire for alcohol whatsoever and secondly alcohol will affect the Believer from hearing the Holy Spirit clearly. Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
AMEN AMEN AMEN !!! NO ALCOHOL FOR ME. I CANNOT DRINK AS MUTCH AS 1 LITTLE CAN OF BEER QITHOUG GETTING A VERY BAD HEADACKE ANYWAY,. DOOBLE GOOD REASON NEVER TO TOUCH IT. I DONT NEED IT. THANK YOU MY JESUS FOR THIS. JUST WANT TO HEAR YOU CLEARLY ALLWAYS. YOU ARE THE MOST PRECIOUS FOR ME IN MY LIFE. AND NO HEADACKES FROM SUCH A VERY BAD POISONOUS THING IM SO HAPPY I DO NOT NEED IT!!! . NO THANK YOU TO ALCOHOL !!!
True Christians cannot completely abstain from alcohol since Christ commanded that wine be drunk as part of the new Passover ceremony. Evangelicals are completely deceived into thinking alcohol is an inherently bad thing because their religion is based on their own silly, self righteous judgement of what constitutes sin. Christ Himself was a social drinker(Luk. 7:34), and it did nothing to inhibit His ability to stay close to His Father.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 You'll get no argument from me. We do know however, that he will judge us for defiling our flesh, but it's not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles him, it's what comes out of it. I'm certainly not going to deny the downside of alcohol comsumption, it's bitter sweet. It can bring joy and then can also bring sorrow and poverty, lazieness, foolishness and lack of self-control. It's up to each believer but, those in Christ will be led by the spirit to examine himself as to whether or not he is treading where he should not go.
I was taught Jesus' wine wasn't fermented. And I'm the only one in my family that doesn't drink... so much so that cough syrup makes me giddy! 😂🤦♀️🤣 What I didn't escape was the cigarettes. 😔 Just keep going back to them.
Good for you @Jeep-Life, I like your attitude, it's Godly. Cigarettes are not the unpardonable sin, but smoking was something that I was blesed to not be a part of. I do however enjoy a lttle wine Like Timothy was recommeded to do by Paul. I guess I'm weaker than Timothy was.
Most of the comments on here are defending drinking alcohol in moderation. Why? There's more than just the consumption. So do you think it's OK to sit at a restaurant and drink a beer, or one margarita? Sounds like it. So what do you say to that person that you've been talking to about God, who sees you drinking but never questions you about it. I assure you, you have lost credibility with them. So, why chance it? Because alcohol means that much to you? Whether alcohol in moderation is allowed or not, is it more important than spreading the good news?
Christ drunk wine in moderation. The Bible NEVER once states anywhere that it is a sin to drink alcohol, but it DOES teach that being drunk is a sin. Why would Christ turn water into wine if it was an inherent sin to drink alcohol? Think man. Your argument lost all credibility because it is very likely that Christ talked to ppl about God while drinking alcohol in social settings(Luk. 7:34).
QUESTION: would you drink wine at a wedding? would you bring wine? what if they drank so much they ran out - would you replenish their supply?? (( you know where I'm going with this right?? ))

❤ Timothy was having tummy issues because of bacteria in the water. This is why Paul advised him to drink a little alcohol ... to kill the bacteria in the water and thereby healing his gut.
I commented on this a moment ago, but here's the reality, we Christians will drink of the New Wine in Heaven with Jesus just a the disciples did on earth, this is the truth. Matthew 26:29
@@lonnienunez6141 Consecrated Christians don't drink stimulants. And I'm curious, how do you know that our friend advocates the drinking of stimulants, did you ask?
Great sermon; the best! Using the shadow Col 2:14-17, Schoolmaster Gal 3:24,25 to show the New Covenant. Priest could not drink neither should we would are made priest Rev 1:6. However it's so sad Churches can't see by faith into the most holy place of heavenly sanctuary Rev 11:19 the true ark of the Covenant where the to Commandments is; the pattern by which Moses got instruction to build earthly sanctuary Ex 25:8. Revelation 17:1-2 KJV And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: [2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. Now Churches are drinking the wine of the Antichrist the Papacy that Commandments are done away with exalting Sunday sacredness!
We all know (or should know) what our respective weaknesses and lusts are. If we're weak or easily tempted in any area, we should not feed this area in any way. We should also not partake in anything wherein a fellow believer is weak or easily tempted, at least not while they are around us. Yielding to our earthy, carnal lusts and desires is never the Godly approach for the believer - we should be yielding ourselves to God and His Word.
He's wrong about one single thing. They did have refined spirits in ancient times! It's recorded when in ancient writings that an ancient hero used Greek wine to subdue a cyclops!
The Holy Spirit indwells us with the mind of Christ: Jesus said all the Father has is mine. Therefore, the Holy Spirit receives the mind of Jesus and reveals it to us. It is only through the Holy Spirit that we are infused and enlightened with the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), for even the Holy Spirit must search for all things, yes, the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). After receiving God’s Holy Spirit, we become more and more like Jesus; in turn, we will do and speak the will of the Father and finish His work, which is to destroy all the works of the devil. Amen.
