Our LT4 Swapped 1967 Camaro Gets An Insane Stereo System!!! 

I know you guys want to finish this car ASAP, but PLEASE, listen to the comments telling you to fix what you did wrong with the fuel pressure regulator, you NEED to connect a vacuum line to the regulator so it can raise the fuel pressure with the boost from the supercharger, you will run the engine lean and blow up it up if you keep doing burnouts and driving it hard like that.

Just an idea if the bottom vents are not functional I think u can buy digital “gauges” to go in their place to display things like boost and air fuel ratios

Hay guys just a few tips on the stereo system. Subwoofer box has to be aimed backwards, meaning subs have to point towards the trunk lid that's why the back of the sub enclosure has an angle, also. Sp makers you installed are called coaxial speakers, woofer, mid and high, the best way to configure it is using the internal crossover in the stereo so you can separate mid low and high frequencies on the speakers and sub handling low frequencies. I f you need more feedback on stereo installation I have plenty of experience. The Camaro is getting awesome guys, congrats !!!

Windscreens before the 90's didn't glue in like that - you need to get an original rubber window seal, unless someone makes a rubber trim to look like one. Also, the sub should be facing the other way I think - the angled side is supposed to match the angle that the back seats lean back at

I love subs I build custom boxes and do installs all the time. I just don’t see them in sports cars. I won’t even put subs in my camaro and I’m a big bass head. Idk just me but for $1100 you guys paid…I could of probably did the big 4 built a custom box and did a all skar set up for $1100 😳😳. Keep up the work y’all. Love the videos🤘

From a car audio guy with videos up myself, I would recommend not mounting the amps to the enclosure if you can. The prefab style enclosures aren’t the most vibration friendly on amps and speakers and can vibrate the internals to failure. I would mount them to a board and secure the board to the chassis. Also, don’t forget to secure the box and adjust the amps safely and keep away from distortion!!!! Bass on buddies!!!!

I'm a 20 plus year MECP certified mobile electronics installer. That planet audio deck is decent but leaves alot to be desired. The car play and android auto requires a wired connection unlike other units that support it wireless. I posted in a previous video of a good option you'd really love. They make decks that support the Maestro system. You can link this system to your cars ECU and have digital gauges with oil pressure,fuel level, speed, RPM and CEL information. As well as climate controls and open doors info. Aswell as the ability to map and use steering wheel controls in a bunch if cool ways. The climate, door info and SWC mapping wouldn't work on this car obviously but the ECU stuff would. Another option becoming really popular is using a good basic single din deck with Bluetooth. Then buy a iPad of your choice and buy whats called a slider kit. It's a pocket the iPad docks into that can be molded into a dash bezel with CA glue and some filler and sanding work. When done right the iPad docks and looks like a factory Tesla screen that can be removed when needed. You can find a secondary location for the single din radio to run the audio through. Or some people in set it enough that it sits behind the slider and they cut the opening in the back of the slider. So it's in the dash behind the docked iPad. Google iPad dash kits you'll see what I mean!

The original windshield for the camero has like seal and chrome piece that run all around the windshield

Fellas the 6x9 speakers on the rear deck need to be installed with the tweeter facing in towards the center FYI

The real fun on installing a car sound system is on balancing and calibrating all the inputs and outputs

I have never seen a windshield installed with anything other than a gasket in a ‘67 Camaro. Will be interesting to see how it holds up. See if it leaks.

You never want to turn the gain on the amp all the way up. You can adjust with the head unit to make it sound better. Also face the subs towards the back. Better acoustics.

There should be a black gasket that houses the windshield. It'll give the clean appearance you want and it will seal better

Wiring on cars in the 60s was so simple. No electronics back then. When adding all the modern stuff, the wiring gets crazy. Make sure you upgrade the generator.

Use a multimeter to set the gains or a Steve Meade tuner , cause when u turn them amps up it bring in noise distortion.

Btw you need a noice power capacitor like 2 farad for the subwoofer.

If you are taking it to the track, you need to install CUTOUTS on the exhaust system, usually they exit just in front of the doors.

The rear end would be so light at the moment it would never be able to hook up! Plus that LT4 is a torque monster! Here in Australia that rear parcel shelf would be an engineering fail due to being hacked up. It will add to the flex in the body and becomes an ultimate weak point. The sound will transform once the rear seat is in., as the sound waves will be cancelling each other out at the moment.

good job with the audio work its tricky sonetimes but you need to turn the sub box around and have the subs face the rear..will sound better and have more bass with the room for the bass waves to travel more

On the 67 Camaro there’s clips that go around the outside of the windows (front and rear) that hold a chrome molding on !! I hate the chrome but I’m sure you guys can paint it black or match the car!

Go get some ABS Plastic Sheets and fill in the front radio gap. Then get an MDF board and cut out to the rear deck then carpet or fiberglass it to clean up the rear deck. The gains should be set to the head unit and the crossovers around 80 hertz for the subs and the highs 120 0r 80 hertz to protect them too. This is my old profession before Law Enforcement! Good job for the first time and getting the proper fitting for the wires to the amp and battery. This is to prevent from burning up this classic ride brother. OORAH

The bass will sound better if you turn the box around it gives the air something to bounce off of which is what makes subs work

If you want hell of bottom take your sub box and turn it around towards the inside of the trunk facing the street.Ive had 12 inch subs in all my cars.

Whenever you install a sub speaker 🔊 box turn the woofers out ward for better bass inside the car.

While everything is out some Dynamat would make the cabin area quieter and make the stereo sound 1000% better

A glass man told me that when you install a new glass you need a primer on the metal before you put the glue, the primer is black and it helps the glue adhere better to the car

throw some vinyl on the border, those 1" stripes from the auto parts stores will prop work well

Facts, please connect a vaccum line, that is a muscle engine, its easy to blow up.

I'm a windscreen fitter and that windscreen you've got is a string in style it's ment to have a rubber around it that the glass sits in then you fit the glass to the car by pulling the string that window is not ment to be bonded it will just fall out the glue won't stick that's why there's a black band in the glass on new cars so the glue has something to stick too

I have done a few Camaros especially 60s models so I'm going to let you know in a little secret they're supposed to be a rubber seal that goes around that window it helps with the gap around the window and also you will not see the window glue because it covers it up and across the top is going to be a thicker piece of rubber keeps vibration down also and rain from getting in between the glass and the a pillars and the roof in the cowel

Love the stereo guys, but u need a pre-amp to further filter the music as well as tuning the deck and amp gains to match for a cleaner and efficient sound. Tune her up and you bumping!

I love you guys and don't want to be critical but those windshields were set using PTI tape not urethane. That's why you got the squeeze out. Use primer first before you apply the PTI tape. Be blessed guys.

Turn the subs around so they are firing at the tail lights and adjust the amp don't just turn the gain all the way up, that's the quickest way to blow your speakers

Turn the sub box so the speakers face the rear of the car. Not only will it look better, you will get a lot more bass.

If you aren’t getting huge bass out of this setup, you need to look into phase cancelling and crossovers

As for the Camaro, the 67 has always been my favourite and you have done to it what I would have done had age and health not got in the way. I have a little proposition to put to you. Stop working on the car, and sell it to me as is. (As long as I can afford your price). I will then organise to transport it to Australia and finish the build. What you think?

Need to get a deep cycle battery. And secondly get a capicator for each of those amps especially the subs. You may need to get a bigger alternator. Getting closer to being finished.

The front and rear glass uses a gasket. It also holds the front and rear of the headliner in place and the trim covers the gasket.

Hey guys love your channel but there are a few thing you should change on your stereo install. 1 and most important you should never turn your amps up all the way on your gains it should be matched to your radio. 2 you should not mount your amps to subbox the vibration can cause your amp to premature failure. 3 your box should be turn the other way for better bass response. You can check all of this by checking RU-vid videos 🤣😂🤣.

Pretty sure you're missing some bracing between the back seat and the trunk. Being a unibody car, you're going to twist it like a pretzel if you go putting slicks on the thing. It needs that bracing, probably a proper cage as well to keep from twisting the car......IMO.

For an older car like this, maybe consider using some sound isolation. you will be glad you did.

i can really recommend to build a baffle to the 6x9" speakers. don't bolt them directly to the metal. Put a thick piece of wood between preferably MDF. It will make a huge difference.

Guys your Camaro should have trim that goes around the windshield, most of the time it is chrome. Check and see if that one had it.

Turn the sub box around, bass waves widen as the rebound, so it will give more bass. Amps can't be mounted to the sub box, it will rattle them and shorten the life of ur Amp.

The stereo system is great, I would of used the info system from the ZL1 myself. The console fit so you could of used the the one from the ZL1. I believe you would of been much happier with it.

The winshield should be installed with the side mold itself, you don't need any glue to install it on your car

Alpine speakers and pioneer head unit. Alpine amps and subs. Or hifonics. Sounds loud. Watch videos of stereo installs. Meade is a good channel.

Definitely wish I lived a little closer to you guys I would come show you how to set the amp and bass controller cause definitely is not right.. idk the quality of the speakers but that controller should definitely make a deference when using it and shouldn’t have to have the gain turned all the way up to get bass to work either… also need to go in the radio settings and see if it has a sub feature usually it’s only turned to 0 or 1 from factory.. and need to adjust the bass treble and mids and I’d make the controller only go to the subs and let the 6*9’s just work off radio settings and tweak the amp for them.. but I could go on all day bout that but anyways love the Camaro I miss my 74 z28

You are missing the window molding and metal trim around the front windshield, the old school cars are different from the new ones.

You guys are missing a gasket for the windshield as well as the chrome trim piece that goes around, that covers the glue

The original windshield had a chrome surrounding piece on the glass that covers the glue .

You need to prime the edge of the glass all the way around that would give you a cleaner look

Hey guys, I just saw the difference that you have in the gaps between the top and bottom of the fender and door. The door seems to be installed correctly according to the quarter panel so that’s means that the weight of the motor/transmission is making a bending in the hole structure. I have a mustang 66 and I install a frame reinforcement that is sell by total control products. Check that! With all that power you will need more structural reinforcement 😂. Love your content! 🤩

I suggest you to find audio installer to tune your sound system. Turning all knobs to max will result in bad things. You can burn amps and or subs....

I almost cried when he turned the GAIN and bass boost all the way up.. Y'all need the shop to set the gains. Would be easiest. I use an O scope with a -10 db 40hz test tone. Wire looks too small. Could be an issue. I would use 0 AWG pure copper to the back, no CCA wire, then dist. Block and 4awg to each amp. Also ditch those BOSS door speakers. Swap meet trash. The rear 6x9s are good. American bass is well respected in the SPL world. Think they are outa Ohio. Look up the "big 3" you need to do this to get the most power and impact from the system. This reduces voltage drop. Amps dont like voltage drop. Looks like you got a good size rear AGM battery. Good job.Car audio guys LOVE AGMs.

Whats up guys! Try installing some sound dampening material before the carpeting and the rear seats. Also, turn your subs around, they'll sound better. One more suggestion, never turn your gain all the way up, it will cause distortion. Good luck!
