Our Métis-led IPCA contains important habitat including over 37 acres of native grassland and 28 acres of wetland. Over the last century, much of the native grassland and wetland habitats in this Alberta region have been lost to industrial and agricultural activities. These habitats are also home to a variety of species, including several species at risk designated by the provincial and federal governments. It’s important for us to protect these species for future generations.
This project was undertaken with financial support of the Government of Canada through the federal Department of Environment and Climate Change.
