What are some of your baby feeding essentials?! Please share below if you have any more hacks!!

Another little hack for pumping mothers who use electric pumps. If you order the nanobebe breast pump adapter (I ordered mime off Amazon) you can use the adapter on a 4 or 8oz Mason jar, hold it on with the Mason jar ring. So you can pump directly into the Mason jar then store it or freeze it. Then put the Mason nipple on it! I just discovered your channel and I have been loving your videos! They are all such a blessing! 💕

Kim, thank you!!! I had no idea about that adapter! Going to find it now on amazon! Thank you so much for sharing this hack for pumping mamas! I’ll definitely be using it myself when I have to go back to work and use my spectra electric pump! And I am so glad you have joined us on our journey! Thank you so much for watching!

Hi Kim, I have been scouring the internet for videos and info about this. I looked on the mason bottle website on the FAQ section and learned about this brand adapter and another brand. I ordered both but they don’t seem to fit well. I only tried it with the plastic top that the mason bottle came with. Did you use the metal top? I don’t have any and was wondering if that’s why it doesn’t fit properly. Does yours fit ok?

@@themajesticmango3813 hey I hope Kim can help you with this! I don’t have any experience with it thus far, but am looking into ordering once I go back to work full time in a few weeks! I THINK I’ve heard of them being used with the metal top but I’m not for sure! I hope Kim can help with this question! I’ll be trying them out soon myself though!

@@themajesticmango3813 Hey there! So held my adapter to the Mason jar with the metal ring. So traditionally mason jars come with a metal lid and a metal ring for canning. And all you need is the metal ring. You set the plastic adapter over the opening of the Mason jar (it has to be a narrow mouth jar I used 4oz or 8oz glass Ball Mason jars) and you secure it to the jar by tighten the metal ring. So essentially the adapter is just being held onto the opening of the Mason jar. I pray that this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions! ☺

@@themajesticmango3813 Oh and I will say you have to buy 2 sets of the adapters! In a single set there is one that gets larger on the bottom it kinda looks like a funnel that's the one you need. So I order 2 of the Nanobebe breast pump adapter sets they were 5.99 each on Amazon. And I used them a Medela pump but I have read of others being able to use it with Spectra pumps! I believe that is what the other adapter in the set is for. I know there is very little info out there about these I struggled with it also! I would recommend going to Amazon going to the reviews and there should be some photos, videos and some reviews that will be helpful!! ☺

How long does the spectra versus the hand pump take? I’ve never use the hand pump, but I figured that would get tiring.
@AmmieHarris
@AmmieHarris Год назад
Oh the hand pump is wayyyyy faster, at least for me. But I personally don’t react well to pumps so the spectra took me like 25+ min ( pumping both sides) vs 7-8 min each side with the hand pump. But it’s all personal I think. Some mamas pump tons on an electric in under 10 min! The hand pump isn’t really tiring. I don’t get hand cramps or anything 😂

Are these mesnt for breastfed babies. I want to breastfeed and have husband bottle feed. Know of any other nipples that fit the mason jars?
@AmmieHarris

Yes I breastfeed all my babies. And I believe the comotomo bottles nipples fit also. That’s what I’ve been told by others! Congratulations on you baby’s arrival soon!

I used the mason jar bottles almost four years ago with my first baby, but I stopped using them because unfortunately I had experienced leaking and a little rusting around the metal ring. All the parts were on properly and secured so I don’t understand why I had leaking. Hoping to try this again with baby #3 if bottles are needed this time around. My second baby didn’t take to bottles at all, and pumping was overwhelming for me so he fully breastfed.

They make plastic rings that don’t rust and actually are more secure in my opinion

YES! I am so excited to try this method. I want to be able to pump right into the 4oz jars and then add the nipple for when I have to work a few hours in the evening and my hubby is home with our baby. We are due in a few months and I've just been unhappy with the bottles out there.

Hi Rachel!! Congratulations on the new baby! Prayers for a safe reminder of your pregnancy and a safe and beautiful labor and delivery!! I think you will love this mason jar method!!! It’s amazing for sure. I didn’t have the adapters for the jars with my first and had to transfer milk, but I’ve loved pumping this way with my second baby!!

Yes! There can be so much anxiety around this issue. So many women are not properly informed or supported causing so much anxiety! I was like that with my first baby!

Hi Ammie. This video is really helpful. I’m expecting a baby girl in November. I love the concept of the mason bottle. You mentioned you have only 5 nipples. Was that enough ? What speed did you chose?
@AmmieHarris
@AmmieHarris 3 года назад
Hi!! First of all congrats on the baby girl!! Being a mom truly is the best job! I wish you the best in the remainder of your pregnancy and your upcoming labor as you welcome baby girl! And 5 nipples was perfect for us to have each day while my children were with day sitters! Then we just washed and reused the next day! I am only away during the day for 8 hours so 5 bottles is more than enough for my baby (I just provide extra in case of emergency) And we have the slow flow (0-3 month size) and used it all the way up until we weaned off bottles. We never changed nipple sizes with our baby’s ages! Thank you so much for watching!

What is the pink attachment on the Madela haand pump and where did you buy it? Is it sfter than the original madela flange?
@AmmieHarris
@AmmieHarris 2 месяца назад
It is from Pumpin pals! They make more customizable flange sizes than the hard plastic ones they come with the pump. These are the only ones I ever used! So much more comfortable!!

Hi Ammie, the link you shared have mason jars with the metal lid. Can you plz share the link for mason jars with plastic lid ?

Hi yes! I just buy the mason jars as normal with the metal lids. They are much cheaper that way I think. Then I buy small packs as needed with the grey plastic lids. Here’s a link to some lids. But I don’t buy jars and plastic lids as a set amzn.to/47cpyQ8

I am expecting baby #5 and I have tons of mason jars. This is the second video I have seen mention mason jar bottles. Is this fairly new? I don't understand why I am just finding out about this. We could have quit buying plastic bottles years ago. With this pregnancy I am on a journey to decrease some single use plastic. I want to try and stay committed to cloth diapers and wipes. I am also testing out cloth pads. Another thing I just discovered was silicone freezer bags and breastmilk bags. Instead of buying 100 silicone breastmilk bags that wouldn't be used for anything else and very expensive, I was thinking of getting some gallon ones to store all my frozen breastmilk and baby food. Still going to look into the mason jar bottles. I think it's satisfying to have items that you can use for baby then when baby is done with it that item still has a purpose and can be used for something else.

Hi congratulations on baby #5! Wishing you a beautiful pregnancy!! And I’m not sure how new the mason jar nipples as bottles are! I’ve only been in the baby research for the last 4 years so they could be fairly new! If you try them, I hope you enjoy! They are so convenient! And I’m with you on the single-use breast milk bags/and single-use anything really! So expensive! We have used silicone bags for storage (mainly for on the go) and loved them! We also love the larger gallon ones too! I’ve had some for 5-6 years and they hold up so well! I’ve never thought to freeze breast milk all in one big gallon though! Genius! Cloth diapering is very easy and convenient once you make the switch! So nice to hear a bit of your story and plans for baby 5! Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you!

I cleaned the mason jars either in dishwasher or just warm soap/water. You can def boil, I just never was that worried and they cleaned well enough with just soap and water The mason jar nipple I did the same. Dishwasher or hot soap/water!
