I couldn't agree more. I work in production and customization of premium trucks in Europe. I'm used to see factories and production lines and I really like this factory. I'm genuinely impressed by the quality these guys deliver. The fact everything is done "in house" is a very big plus. It's also nice to see how they deal with the Mercedes rules for chassis bodybuilding. To me this proves these guys have quality in their DNA. Keep up the good work!
HOW WONDERFUL! You know I couldn’t resist! It truly is beautiful and so very practical. Congratulations on your new borrowed Wonder B+. I really enjoyed the tour! Dean is so very knowledgeable and fun! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us. I’m always looking forward for the next update......
The elephant in the tour??? Hello, am I the only one that's excited that the 2020 all-new design MB chassis is already passing thru the Leisure Travel assembly line. Very exciting stuff.
Excited abut the updated, multiplex electrical system. Not a fan at all of moving the closets under the bed. What a hassle having to lift the bed every time I want to hang something up or grab a jacket.
Hi, Mike and Jennifer. My wife and I like the Leisure Travel Wonder twin bed. Two things I'd like to change: Lithium batteries instead of AGM and a 2000 W inverter. Can those changes be made to the LTV?
Wow, they really need to up their game with the electrical systems. 1000 watt inverter? No way. If you could figure out how to do that I'd be interested.
It looks like a really nice rv, one I would be interested in but they need to re work their electrical system. Even Mike kind of questioned him about operating the microwave.@@Rick-nf8ju
Yes...our preference would be a larger inverter. It is just 1,000 watts... the microwave needs 1,500 watts so if we were boondocking, we'd have to fire up the generator to use the microwave.
Hi. I loved this video. We have the Unity TB 2018 and are full timers and just love it. In this video Dean said they haven’t been able to get ink stains out of the ultra leather. We had an ink stain on the back of the drivers seat. I sprayed it with some aerosol hair spray and wiped it off immediately. The ink stain was removed and the Ultra leather was not harmed. I learned this trick a long time ago and hope it helps. Maybe dean can experiment on a scrap piece of ultra leather at the factory to verify the results. Also, between our batteries, solar panels and generator all of our electrical needs are easily met, even when Boondocking for a week or more at a time. Happy trails! Victoria Hagerman
I really enjoyed your video. I am seriously considering exactly that RV. I'm hoping i can find a used one in a couple of years when I retire (2021). I'm looking forward to your future videos!! Thank you!
I replaced my 2017 Unity IB inverter with a 3000 hybrid. I also had installed battle born lithium batteries and AM Solar put them under the back seat of the drivers seat. So, their inside the RV. This is my first winter with them and everything is great? I also removed the flat panels and had 650 watts added to the roof.
Jody which Leasure B do you have? I have been trying to decide if I will do a Van build or go this route. I have dogs and will be on the move during winter months as well. So I need to be sure I have heat and air to keep it comfortable or in case. Thanks
@@LucysVanAndale If you are getting a Leisure Travel Vans RV and has pets (I got a cat) , I'll suggest you get 2 Fantastic fans. I set both on slightly different auto-thermal so that one will kick in at a set temperature and the other will start at a higher temperature. As for heating, you need not worry. A full tank of propane will last about 2 weeks (my experience at below freezing is it'll use 5%-6% of the tank per day if you insulate the driver cab area and all the windows). However be aware if you run the heater all day, you'll run out of battery power if you do not charge them up. Do not buy propane generator if you intend to boondock as the propane runs out fast. Get a diesel generator instead.
@@klu7499 Thank you, yes I am in the planning stages and hope to make a decision by the spring. I have also looked at doing a van build but don't know if that will be room enough for us. I have been in dog rescue for several years and am now just needing to go enjoy the adventure of traveling. My dogs must be able to come with me. Thanks for the input.
Just watched another video with a lady who's Leisure was nothing but trouble and their service network is terrible. Last year she said her RV was in the shop 120 days. Really pitiful.
@@Lex-Rex Not sure, but I believe John might be referring to this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1Brdeizkxoc.html. Though I think some of the headaches noted in the video are because of a particular authorized service center in Colorado (apparently only one in that state). That's not to say that Leisure Travel shouldn't do a better job in quality control of their designated authorized service centers.
I truly enjoyed this tour. Very impressed with Dean's knowledge of his products & his enthusiasm. The Wonder has many neat features that are practical for every day living. I love Mike and Jen's videos and their love for their dog.
I had never heard of LTV. I've been looking at some much more expensive vehicles and decided I should look for something that had the dual purpose of every day use. I mean at least I think a 25' van would be more city worth than a 45' bus. Just started looking for this smaller vehicle. I'm so far impressed with the company that this man has put together. They do it all, seemingly with a lot of innovation and attention to detail despite being born of an assembly line. I'm impressed.
We're so glad you found us! :). You can compare our product lineup over at leisurevans.com/ if you're interested. We highly recommend seeing these in person at an upcoming RV show.
Hi, Great videos I have been watching your channel back to back for last few days. I totally, love you guys. I have 2 questions for you. First, Why did you choose Ford over Mercedes motor home from leisure travel? I want to know with respect to maintenance cost and fuel efficiency. Second, Do you think it is easier to get gas over diesel while on the road? Is there any restriction in city for the size of motor-home that can be driven during certain time of the day? I would be looking forward to you response. Thanks
I love your vans more than Airstreams. You can at least choose an exterior color in your vans. With Airstream, it's any color you want as long as it's silver. (I may be wrong with that). One thing your company needs to realize is that putting the microwave on top of the refrigerator is putting it up too high for us smaller adults. Should I be fortunate enough to win the lotter or Publishers' Clearing House $5K a week, I'm heading straight to one of your U.S. dealers. But if I can't find what I want in your line, I'm just buying a bare RV-worthy van and having a conversion company put it together for me.
Tough company with morals, you know they were offered mega multi millions by Thor and Winnebago back during covid (when they bought out Newmar and Tiffin). Props to them for saying no.
The time for lithium batteries is now. Deep cycle batteries have their share of problems and are only 50% efficient, while lithium can be discharged down to 10%. It's ridiculous to suggest that lithium isn't a better battery. This is the one area where LTV falls far short. Their electrical system is very weak. A 1000 watt inverter is useless. They just don't want to eat into profit margins by upgrading to a more current electrical system. They make great vans otherwise, but any van in this price range should have better electronics than this.
Is it possible for RV building company to think about making fully use of some spaces in RV occupied by like toilet, shower room and kitchen, we know space and facility are basically different concepts, I mean in the same space to touch different things, convertible should be in RV,
This pair are self serving, deceitful skunks. Looking for their next free vehicle and then the sell and promises . They milked Roadtrek and mislead Customers with lies and false promises. Skunks!
The Wonder will be at the top of our budget but looks like every penny worth. I would be tempted to switch the house batteries out to two 200AH 6 volt batteries? Does it come standard with a gen? I would still be tempted to bring a portable small gen just to save on the LP. Would love the Diesel Gen but the price is huge.
One thing I've noticed on some of your models is the lack of a curtain separating the driver area from the rest of the van. IMO, that is part of the privacy of having an RV van.
My question for anybody who has the correct answer...Would I be able to get a better price if I went straight to the manufacturer in Manitoba and chose the RV of my choice?
The drivers seat does not swivel on the Ford chassis build. Only the passenger seat swivels prohibiting the dual sitting / eating area in front. What a waste. Deal breaker for me.
I would not buy an RV that has flexible solar panels. Their lifespan is too short. Lithium batteries are a must as well for their weight and capacity, the cost is cheaper over time as well.
You both are amazing people!!! Thanks so much for the great tour of the plant. If you are ever in the Southern California neck of the woods feel free to drop on by, we'd love to show you around our town of Riverside!! God Bless you both and be careful on all your adventures. Thanks again, Alan.
We like b+ it means you have extra sleeping space, we love Pleasure Way. We did not have the money to get it, but way are still saving to get a B+ sorry Dean ,
Thank you for taking us through a RV factory. It was very informative and interesting to see how they’re put together and what goes into the production. Great channel.
Very exhaustive / interesting / instructive tour of the assembly plant. I can see now why they're so expensive. Quality has a price. I'll follow you in your next videos to see how you like it. Thanks
David Gabrie If you follow LTV Enthusiasts, you’d see a different picture. Hers is entirely unusual, like 1%. Her experience stems from a very poor dealership. I’ve been on the LTV FB for over a year and have never heard of someone having that type of experience. It’s sad to base your decision on one example; but that’s your decision. I don’t think any brand has a complete 100% record of positives. The people I’ve heard from, love their RV, get parts from LTV within 2 days and have a resource to find good repair service at FB LTV. Good luck.
Very excited to hear all about this brand. We have been considering them for awhile. We feel the build quality is excellent and look forward to hearing your thoughts. One down side is the size. They are just that little bit wider than a van build and worry about the clearance. Very interested to hear your comparisons and experiences as you travel in one of these!!!
Elaine, our recommendation would be to see these in person at an RV show and compare to others that are out there - it's the best way to get a sense of size and handling.
Don't get me wrong, I am impressed. But what happened to your Roadtrek? I'm "wondering" just because you 2 seemed to be Roadtrek all the way for some time now. Congrats, and curious what Utah show in March may bring. Great job on this video, probably about the best.
They were given Roadtrek vans to promote the brand. They probably had to return the latest one because of the alleged massive fraud by top executives within the North American division of the Erwin Hymer Group, which resulted in Thor Industries excluding it from their recent purchase of the company.
Thanks for taking us through the factory tour. Wow! Dean really is good to you guys. Can’t wait to see more of your wondering. I see I have year’s worth to catchup on.
Wondering how does the Airstream Atlas MB Build compare to Leisure MB??? I understand Leisure is the leader when it comes to travel vans while airstream has been around for decades famous for its unique travel trailers. Personally to me browsing videos the build was better on the Atlas however the cost difference of around 70k was hard to justify. Need to make a decision and request your inputs.
Your best bet is try to find an RV Show happening near you with these two types and also ask this question in our Facebook Group - The Wendlands have never owned an Airstream to be able to compare them. - -- Team RV Lifestyle
This Has to be one of your best videos. Thousand watt inverter, not so much should be more, but sufficient. When are these builders going to figure out that USB ports need to be down low just like a plug is in a sticks and bricks wall. When you’re building it from scratch that’s an easy fix.
Very informative video showing the build process. There is a lot of hand labor in an RV build. It will be interesting to see how the clothes closet under the seats works out over time. Would you please post the MSRP on the coach that they loaned you. Thanks.
WHAT A GREAT VIDEO ! - Well this closed the deal for me. FYI: I've been a Master BMW for over 30yrs and " OCD " as well - everything has to be perfect and a certain way. I tried to find a flaw in the construction and materials. I could not. Everything was more than required and the design seems extremely sound and solid. I'll be seeing you soon. Cheers.
Very good video! I was very impressed with the build process. I currently have a RT210P....but I think if I live long enough (and can afford it) an LTV will be my next home!
I really like that the factory guy was very knowledgeable about literally every facet of the production process, the equipment fit, the layouts, etc, and genuinely enthusiastic too. It was clear to see that these vehicles are built to very high standards and that the company has invested in both staff and factory. Their retention of quality control by manufacturing as much as is possible in-house was also good to see. Overall I was very impressed with what I saw, especially their vacuum bonding systems. Other than those very personal choices regarding layout, colour schemes, fabrics, etc, I conclude that were I in the market for a travel cabin of this size, I would be putting this manufacturer high on my list! Edited to correct spacing error.
I don’t need lithium, but how about 4 or maybe 6 of those 6 volt batteries and a 2000 watt inverter. That would cover all needs except the air conditioner. Oh, and a 12 volt/110 volt refrigerator would be a must have also.
Hope you will give us the "good, bad and the ugly" on this B+ Wonder as there are a lot of folks out here depending on you two to report! Happy Trails!
Thank you for this Video because I’ve always been wondering and I loved seek their construction even though I think they should probably use the geodesic system with triangles because it’s much stronger and sturdier but that’s just my Opinion.
curious to your views of driving the larger vehicle versus the previous "standard" chassis of the Roadtrek. Seems simple enough since the width of the vehicle is minimal.
I got a very uneasy feeling with the animated behavior which is over the top. Reminds me of a slick salesman and I don’t mean that in any complimentary way. I would not buy an RV from a salesman who acted this way because you feel that they are bullshitting the whole way. Just an opinion.
Thomas Darby I honestly have to give this to you. He appears to be the exception in certain respects. I can totally support the notion of him being enthusiastic and it is interesting to watch. If a salesman were to act this way, it could very well be a red flag. One little tidbit about human psychology is that a person can become overzealous which most definitely can prevent them from having objectivity concerning the product. It is always smart to err on the side of caution when you encounter something over the top in either direction. On a personal note, I find the Pleasureway presentation to instill much more confidence. Sure, it is on script but he presents the facts very well thought out and logical. I like that style rather than a whirlwind of activity. Yes, I would purchase a Pleasureway over the other. I have a Roadtrek and am not looking to buy anything else anytime soon.
My heart melted every time I watched the Unity tb 2013 video, it was the perfect model for a minimalist. Like their vans but over the years their models get bigger and bigger. What would be a perfect model for someone who needs it only for vacation/weekend trips?
